New Year is such a holiday when you want to reward yourself with something that brings real pleasure, truly significant. And if in the Soviet era the notorious Olivier salad plus champagne easily coped with the role of a “relaxant”, today the soul asks for something on a larger scale.
For example, traveling to distant lands is advisable warm and seaside. What, this is worthy gift to your loved one at the end of the year and as a reward for your efforts?
And it’s great that organizing such a gift is not difficult: you put your swimwear in a suitcase, and your ticket and hotel reservations in your smartphone, and took your international passport plus money. And to the airport!
Yes, it’s that simple, to celebrate the New Year in Dubai you will have to make an effort the bare minimum of effort. Well, except for the fact that you will still have to earn money for the trip – not a very large amount, however.
That is, generally quite modest by today’s standards…
What will the weather be like, what do they write about the New Year’s realities in Dubai in reviews? What things should you take with you on a seaside holiday?
Exactly how much will you have to splurge on air tickets and hotels, entertainment, is it worth buying a tour?
And also – what to do in the “main” emirate of the UAE on New Year’s Eve, subsequent holiday days (and nights)?
We found out all the details and now we will share them with you!
Weather in Dubai for New Year
It makes you completely forget that, in accordance with tradition, the designated holiday is celebrated in winter, and not at any other time of the year. In any case, you will only be able to guess that it is December 31st after you check the calendar.
Because on the eve of the New Year, the air temperature in Dubai during the day lives in the range of +23-26 degrees Celsius. And at night (including holidays) it does not fall into the “abyss” – after sunset the atmosphere cools down to a quite acceptable +19-22 °C.

Under the sign of such temperatures New Year’s holidays will pass. On some days, vacationers may even decide that the emirate is preparing for the onset of summer. Because the air warms up to +27-28 °C, and the sun burns as if it were holding a dress rehearsal.
And clear days follow one after another pleasant sequence
By the way, the probability of rain in the UAE in the middle of winter is not very high. But we wouldn’t guarantee that, like in the summer, you won’t find them. Yes, and there are mentions of such a natural disaster in reviews!
Some tourists who came to Dubai to celebrate the New Year and stayed for another week may be even more lucky. Because they witness not one, but even a couple of rains.
It cannot be said that such natural phenomena completely ruined excursion plans. After all, on the coast of the Persian Gulf precipitation is more a word than an action.
Somewhere in Kaliningrad or St. Petersburg you would not even notice a portion of heavenly moisture of such volumes!
But one way or another – we warned you!
Sun
Above Dubai on January 1st it rises at about 8 am. And he goes to bed shortly before 6 pm!
So for a 10-hour daylight, which, in addition, has a good chance of being not just warm, but also sunnyyou will probably have time for a lot.
How to walk around the central part of the city and visit Bastakiya
Maybe go in the afternoon on a desert safari — the sunsets here are simply amazing. Well, or have a real blast, rewarding yourself with a trip along the ideal Dubai roads in an expensive sports car.
You can also take a non-expensive ride (taxi, rented car). Because in this way you will greatly facilitate the process of transporting yourself from the hotel to the attractions and back.

What to take with you
In our opinion, almost everything is the same as what you would take with you to the sea in the summer. Sunscreens and long sleeves, e.g. must be present in the suitcase.
Because even the winter sun in Dubai can burn your skin northerner in a very limited period of time
It is also worth considering some light jackets or sweatshirts, in which you, for example, will go wandering around the city. Or you will stand for a long time and almost motionless in a place occupied ahead of time, waiting for a gorgeous festive fireworks display.
Do you think that such clothes will not be useful to you? In vain: in the mornings and evenings the air temperature in Dubai in January drops and below +20 degrees Celsius.
So if you find yourself outside in a T-shirt and shorts or an overly summery dress, you risk catching a cold and ruining the rest of your vacation.
By the way, swimming in Dubai during the New Year holidays not only in swimming pools. Although the number of vacationers in the sea directly signals that it is clearly not warmed up to summer temperatures – at best up to +22-23 °C.
Prices 2026
In principle, it can be called outrageously high. In any case, if you arrogantly decide not to buy a tour and organize the trip yourself.

In particular, for flights from Moscow to Dubai and back on New Year’s dates you will have to pay about 650-700 € per person. A night’s stay in high level hotellocated far from the center of Dubai, but also in the modern area of Al Barsha, will cost ~250 € per day.
On the most important holidays (in 2025/2026 they will officially last from December 31st to January 11th), of course. Even with breakfast… and still – it’s expensive!
After approximately January 5, prices are reduced by more than half. In the excellent, albeit 3-star Premier Inn Dubai Barsha Heights, you can rent a room for two for 110 € per night.
Another way to save a little on your holiday in Dubai is to stay at one of the hotels in Sharjah, the neighboring emirate. There you can swim and sunbathe on the beach, and go on walks and excursions to Dubai by taxi (from 20 €) or regular bus route.
To get from Sharjah to the nearest metro station in Dubai by bus it will take 30-40 minutes.
Just remember to purchase a (reloadable!) NOL card. Which will allow you to use all public transport, including taking the Dubai metro.
Excursions and package tours
Compared to the prices of flights and hotels, the cost of excursions in Dubai does not look excessively high
For example, a sightseeing tour of the emirate with a guide will cost ~35-40 €. Those wishing to take a 1-day tour on a sightseeing minibus in Abu Dhabi will have to spend 50 € or so.
About 35-50 € are charged for a participant in an off-road jeep safari through the desert. Combined with a visit to a Bedouin village and a hearty lunch…
For a tour to Dubai from Moscow lasting 7-8 nights from the very end of December to the beginning of January you will pay for two about 200 thousand rubles.

Things to do
The first thing tourists flying to Dubai to celebrate the New Year want to do is: it’s to watch the fireworks. Alas, the indicated idea is far from original and occurs to almost everyone.
As a result, the space near the Burj Khalifa begins to fill with people wishing to take at least a passive part in the celebration. before dusk
What is not surprising: just like trying to see a light show, it itself often causes a real storm of emotions — otzovik.com/review_9179405.html.
Visits to nightclubs if you are young (at least at heart), walks around the city, dinners in restaurants – this is the approximate entertainment set during the New Year holidays for those who do not lack funds.
During your breaks, you may well want to visit other interesting places in Dubai. And also go shopping – in January, local expensive boutiques start having sales, if not sales, then significant discounts.
Very interesting, that is to say unforgettable experience promises a visit to the Dubai Garden of Wonders. Because to see so many flowers, a riot of colors at a time when the streets of European cities are covered with snow, of course, is worth a lot.
In addition, we will advise you to take a cruise in the Persian Gulf and even go diving – the temperature of the water area in January (+21-23 °C) provokes this kind of entertainment. It looks like a very original way to spend leisure time. visiting camel raceswhich are held just in winter at the Al Marmum Dromadrome.
Families with children or those who profess an active and adventurous lifestyle will certainly not miss the opportunity to visit one or more of the famous amusement parks in Dubai (tickets and even at a discount can be purchased online). Well, they have long become classics of the genre desert safari by jeep — in the middle of winter, such trips are all the more popular because they do not threaten overheating!
