Bali is an island of ancient temples and an incredible pristine nature. Here are high cliffs, about which strong waves are broken, they are replaced by long beaches and bays. In old settlements, the islanders keep their culture, which they are happy to share with travelers, and ubiquitous monkeys run through trees.

The beaches of the island

There are many beaches on Bali. Between themselves, they are distinguished by the activity of waves, coating of the coast, entering the water and the level of tolls and tides. We picked up some of the most suitable for beach holidays.

Temples of Pura Luhur Uluvata and Pura Tanya Lot

Not far from the city of Kuta, on a cliff, there is a temple of Pura Luhur Uluvata. It is worth visiting to see magnificent landscapes and admire the violent blue ocean. Especially amazing views are opened at sunset.

Another popular temple – Pura Tanya Lot – stands on a small stone island by the Tanah Lot beach. During the tide, the bottom is exposed here and it becomes possible to get to the attraction.

Nusa Penid island

Not far from the southeastern coast of Bali is the Paradise Island of Nusa Penid. He is famous for the virgin nature and amazing beaches.

Ubud

Ubud is an ancient city, for a visit to which we advise you to allocate for several days. Forest of monkeys

Turning into JL Street. Monkey Forest and walking along it to the end, you will reach one of the symbols of the island – the forests of monkeys. Here, stairs and bridges lead through the jungle, in which about 10 species of monkeys live, and dozens of stone statues of animals look especially remarkable.

Several paths depart from Ubuda, a walk along which will reveal to you unforgettable views of the nature of the island. For example, the Subak Juwuk Manis trail passes by rice fields and village houses, and the Campuhan Ridge Walk path leads along the crest of the hill, from which views of the forever green forest are opened.
Rice terraces

To enjoy the authentic landscapes of Bali, go for a walk to the rice terraces.
Tagalang’s rice terraces spread around the village of the same name on the slopes of the hills. These are the most commonly visited rice fields on the island. The entrance here opens at 7:00 every day. The ticket cost is 20 thousand IDR.
To get to the terraces, go to the village of Tegalang, which is located 9 kilometers from the city of Ubud.
The terraces less popular among tourists can be found near the village of Jatiluvikh, in the heart of the island. Jatiluvikh terraces occupy about 632 hectares and are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visit time: from 8:30 to 18:00. The ticket will cost 40 thousand IDR.
Vulcan Batur

The 1717-meter volcano of Batur rises above the lake of Batur, and on its slopes there are numerous ancient temples.
The ascent to the top of the volcano is very popular. The path to one direction takes about 2 hours. From there, breathtaking views of the mountains, lake and lava field open.
You can climb to the top both independently and accompanied by a guide. You can buy an organized tour in one of the agencies located on the west coast of Lake Batur. The night climb and the meeting of dawn at the top (involves an overnight stay at the foot of the volcano) is especially popular.
The entrance to the territory of the volcano costs 100 thousand IDR.
Waterfall Sesumpul

Sexpool is the highest waterfall on the island. He falls into the gorge surrounded by tropical jungle, and forms a lake in which you can swim.
To get to the waterfall, first you need to get to one of the villages of the island – secular or lummy. From there, pedestrian tracks begin through the jungle, occupying about 2 hours of way in one direction. Please note that in rainy weather the paths can be strongly blurred. Along the way, you will need to cross the bridges and a small river of wad.
You can also go to the waterfall as part of an organized tour, for example, with Sekumpul Waterfall Tour. The cost of the tour is about 45 USD (about 631 778 IDR).
For a visit to the waterfall, it is worth highlighting the full day.
Temple Ulun Dan Beratan

The Temple of Ulun Dan Beratan is located on the shores of Lake Bratan. From its territory, picturesque landscapes on the village, Lake and Mountains are opened from its territory.
On the lake you can ride a traditional boat, and in the district to inspect several more ancient temples and monuments. To look at the temple and the lake, go to the village of Bedugul.
Kuta

Spent the last two nights on the island in the resort town of Kuta. A huge number of bars, restaurants and night clubs are concentrated at the resort, where you can relax and have fun. Here you will have a great opportunity to go to shopping in one of the department stores, and for original souvenirs, go to the Pasar Senggol night market.
