Croatia is a picturesque state with an impressive history. Old cities, fortresses and monasteries against the backdrop of mountains, pine groves and Adriatic … It is almost impossible to see the whole country for vacation, but you will have time to capture a beautiful part with our route.
How to get

Flights with transplantation and direct flights are available – from June 10, Russia resumed air traffic with the country. The cost of a ticket to Dubrovnik is from 24,000 rubles* to a person per person.
In addition to the Schengen visa, a negative PCR test is needed, made a maximum of 48 hours before arrival, as well as a voucher for accommodation. Entrance to the country without a dough is also available to those who have already been vaccinated from coronavirus (including the drug “satellite V”) and did this at least 14 days before the entrance, or has a certificate of the already transferred disease.
Local currency – kuna – is estimated in the region of 12 rubles per unit. The current course is better to specify before the trip.

Where to stop

In the country you can find hostels from 1200 rubles. Hotels on average cost 4500-6000 rubles. The most comfortable and budget housing are apartments, guest houses and hotels like Bed and Breakfast. The average price is 2200-3500 rubles.

Dubrovnik

This city is called the “pearl of the Adriatic”, and its old city was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. There is everything: nature, history, gastronomy and entertainment.
Day 1
If you plan to visit the maximum number of attractions in a short time, we recommend that you purchase Dubrovnik Card (from 225 kun* per day). The price includes the entrance to eight museums and to the city wall, as well as unlimited travel by public transport for a day.
First, let’s go along the royal harbor. Sorry, on the city walls. This is one of the locations of the series “Game of Thrones”. A walk will take about two hours. The cost of the entrance is 200 kun*. You can climb the fortress St. IVANA, inspect the shore and present yourself as a member of the ruling family. Inside is a marine museum and a small aquarium. Go to the Fort Lovrijenac on a 40-meter rock to take photos.
In the old city, it is a sin not to get lost among the small streets. Let’s start with the main thing – Stradun. Painting houses with terracotta roofs, prayed squares and stairs. Look into the quiet oases of churches and monasteries. And go to the souvenir store for fans of “Game of Thrones.”
Day 2
The Cathedral of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary stores the works of Croatian and Italian artists. In addition, the treasury of the X-XVII centuries is located here. Entrance – 15 kun*. In the complex of the Franciscan Monastery you will see a church, a library with a rich collection of books and the oldest pharmacy (entrance – 30 kun*).
Behind the best view of the city we go to Mount Sdzh. You can use the cable car (price – 60 kun*) or walk in an hour. It is better to rise closer to sunset to see the towers and the sea in the rays of the setting sun. Only 15 minutes on the ferry from Dubrovnik is the green island of Lokrum. Here you can walk around the botanical gardens, meeting rabbits and amazing birds, swim in the sea or salty lake with the speaking name of the Dead Sea, find the ruins of the monastery and climb the fort. The cost of a ferry with the entrance is 96 kun*.
Makarsk

152 kilometers from Dubrovnik, travel time – about 2 hours 40 minutes.
Day 3
Golden Riviera with the perfect coast in the middle of shady gardens and mountains.
The city is a continuous line of beaches with a large selection of water entertainment. If you are looking for the place more dead, go a couple of kilometers along the path among the pines and you will find yourself on the wild Nugal beach, popular among nudists.
In the afternoon, look in a coffee-shield on the central square, admiring the mountain landscape and architecture, then study the Cathedral ST. Mark, passing by a fountain in the Venetian style.
Toward the evening, take a walk to the Sveti Petar lighthouse: from here is an amazing view of the sunset.
Fishermen demonstrate a catch or arrange costumed festivities on the embankment, here you can have dinner. If you are calm for seafood, then it is worth trying the “Pashtitsada” – stewed beef with potato maples in wine sauce, or meat cooked in a special bowl – pitch. Do not forget about Croatian wine.
Closer to night, go to the observatory to admire the stars (cost – 30 kun*).
Day 4
The second day in this place we devote to the Mountain Massive Biokovo. The destination will be the highest peak with a chapel at the top of Sveti Yura (1762 meters) and a panoramic view of the coast. On the way, we recommend making several stops to enjoy landscapes.
Before returning, look at the territory of the Franciscan Monastery of the Blessed Virgin Mary: he was burned several times, then restored and even turned into a mosque. Now it is a library with rare books and an art gallery. The territory also has a museum of shells. In the evening, ride a bicycle around the city, the cost is 5 kun in 30 minutes*.
Split

60 kilometers from Makarsky, travel time – about 1 hour 10 minutes.
Day 5
The city, frozen in time, as if the portal is transferred to the middle of the last millennium with its architecture, palaces and cathedrals.
In order to feel the atmosphere of the old city, it is best to walk on it without a map. Start with the marble central folk square. Option to admire the city from above – the bell tower of Split. During a tapering rise to the top, be sure to look into the arched windows. On a fruit square, where there used to be a bazaar, you can go through antique stores and look at the Venetian towers.
Do not miss the complex of the Palace of Diocletian of the IV century, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as the oldest Cathedral in the world.
To take a break from the sights, go for a walk in the park on the hill of Maryan, wandering around the forest paths among medieval churches. And in the evening, walk along the Riva embankment, watching the setting sun against the background of the port.
Day 6
The fortress of Klis balances on the cliff – blood shed for a couple of millennia for owning it. Her majesty among the rocks will impress not only fans of the Game of Thrones (this series was also shot here). The price of the entrance is 60 kun*.
It’s good that you are still by car – you can go to the KRKA National Park. The reserve is known for its nature, mills, monastery and, of course, family majestic waterfalls.
The island of Hvar

Day 7
We offer to get to the island by ferry, its cost is 80 kun in both directions*.
The most ancient and beautiful city, according to many travelers, is located on the island and named after him.
Walk around the old city, studying picturesque streets, medieval palaces and churches, enjoying the aroma of lavender. Look at the Cathedral of St. Stefan (entrance – 10 kun*). The Castle of the XVI century with the Mediterranean Garden in the territory and a pond, where multi -colored fish live, deserves attention. Entrance – 20 kun*.
Take a bike and go to the Dubrovica beach, known for your azure water. The most photographed part of the coast, thanks to the surroundings of rocks and pine groves, was Malo Zarace. Here you can do snork.
Be sure to spend a couple of hours in the local Venice – this is what they call the fishing town of Vrboska with many boats and stone bridges.
Day 8

We will devote it to the study of neighboring islands:
- The equal, where there is a green cave with an emerald glow, and Bishevo with a blue grotto and cliffs under the prism of neon light. A boat with a tour costs from 480 kun*;
- A walk on a yacht or kayaking along the Paklin Islands. The cost of pleasure is from 350 kun*.
After the tour, visit the Spanish fortress with the collected collection of ancient amphors, and then admire the panorama of the island and the nearest archipelago from the hill. The cost of the entrance is 30 kun*. Near the port, the Franciscan Monastery spread, where you can see ancient coins, books and a picture gallery.
Spend the evening for tasting wine and cheese in the Wine Bar Prsuta 3. The price per glass is from 30 kun*.
