Sharm el-Sheikh in March 2026 – is it worth going on vacation? Weather and reviews, water and air temperature, whether you can swim and how to dress, windless bays, prices for tours, air tickets and hotels. What to do and see in Sharm el-Sheikh in March, where to go in the Sinai Peninsula and Egypt – says Eurotraveler.
Surely many of you, our readers, have been to Egypt at least once. We vacationed on the Red Sea, went to the pyramids, saw the Sahara…
However – and this is also almost certain – these trips were taken during periods that are considered the best for holidays in Egypt at sea. That is, in April and May, perhaps in October and November?!
What about early spring? Have you been to Egypt and its largest resort, Sharm el-Sheikh, in March?
That is, at the beginning of spring, at a time when the weather seemed toswitches from winter to summer mode? And the majority of tourists are just wondering where they can go (in summer) to bask in the southern sea?
If you haven’t been before, now is the time to do it! Because March in Sharm el-Sheikh is good for both a beach holiday and the most different activities.
From (inexpensive) coastal cruises to snorkeling in the coral- and rare-fish-rich Gulf of Aqaba. And it doesn’t end with trips to the desert, to Mount Sinai, to Petra in Jordan or to Cairo…
And, of course, to those same pyramids. Which for some is like a guiding star illuminating the path to Egypt.
Weather in Sharm el-Sheikh in March
If you think that it is always hot in Egypt and the beginning of spring is no exception, then you’re wrong not entirely right.
Because it’s hot – yes – it happens. But it happens much more often it’s just very warm. But at night, on the contrary, it is not only cool, but also frankly (in common parlance – “brutally”) cold.

For example, in early March, the air temperature in Sharm el-Sheikh during the day prefers do not leave the range +20-24 °C. At night it drops to +16-18 degrees Celsius.
And only sometimes, very rarely and as an exception, it seems to get stuck around the +20 °C mark
In the middle of the month it warms up to +26-28 degrees Celsius. And at the end of March, Sharm el-Sheikh observes something much more often about +28-30than “only” +24-26 °C.
After sunset, however, tourists should still dress in prudently stocked windbreakers and sweaters. Because as soon as it starts to get dark, the atmosphere begins cool down rapidly.
And the winds from the northern directions seem to be just waiting to start tormenting the exposed parts of the body.
In general, all this does not in any way interfere with maximum relaxation. You just need to take into account the indicated climatic features and (if possible) stay in Sharm el-Sheikh in March at a hotel in a windless bay.
An ideal, although clearly not the most budget-friendly choice, is Naama Bay coast.
Family vacationers can also focus on the one located further south Sharm el May. Where you can not only swim to your heart’s content, but also snorkel.
If you would like to relax in silence and are ready to put up with the lack of entertainment, then your choice is Ras Nasrani. Not only windless, but also better than others in Sharm el-Sheikh, suitable for exploring corals and the underwater world in general.
Precipitation and length of day
In theory, you can witness one light rain on vacation. But this is in theory! As evidenced by numerous reviews (for example, this one – otzovik.com/review_11701522.html), the chances of perfectly clear weather throughout your vacation – much higher.

Length of daylight at the very beginning of the month reaches 11.5 hours (sunrise at 6.10 am, sunset at 17.40). On the threshold of April, it increases to 12.5 hours: the sun rises over the sea at about 5.30 am, and “goes to bed” in the west at about 6 pm.
Water temperature
There are no options here – in Sharm el-Sheikh you can (and should!) swim in March. Another thing is that it will require some preparation.
In particular, it is better not to take a dip in the morning. And also do not do this at all in the evening (after approximately 16 hours).
When leaving the water it makes sense immediately wrap yourself in a towel or even wear a jacket. Especially if the wind seemed especially harsh to you that day.
As for the water temperature in the Red Sea in March, it is almost never does not leave the range +21-24 degrees Celsius. The minimum values are typical for the beginning of the month, the maximum for the end.
If this is still not enough for you, choose a hotel with large heated swimming pool. That’s where the water will be warmed up to +28-29 at the beginning of spring; it rarely drops below +22 °C.
What to take on vacation
Without a doubt, in late winter or early spring you will be packing for your vacation with special pleasure. So what, the suitcase will probably be pleasantly surprised that it was taken out of the closet so early.
However, you should not completely “float away” on a wave of relaxed happiness. Because you need to take a lot of absolutely essential things with you on vacation to Egypt in March.
And first of all, you should pay attention not to jackets and pullovers that save you from the attacks of the cold wind, but for beachwear.

For example, there should be at least two swimsuits so that they have time to dry
Also take on your trip wide-brimmed hats and caps with a long visor, long-brimmed shirts and sundresses with decent sleeves stocks of sunscreens and lotions (list of necessary things for a beach holiday in hot countries).
After all, all this will help your skin not to burn – the sun in Sharm el-Sheikh in March is baking as if it had never heard of cold weather!
We also highly recommend carefully pack your first aid kit. It’s better to take with you a lot of different “firefighting” remedies (for poisoning, burns, colds) than to then waste time looking for them at an Egyptian resort.
Prices
They are openly inviting – at least for package tours!
Regardless of whether you decide to relax in Sharm el-Sheikh around March 8th. Or you will find the strength to hold back and endure until the end of the month (and school holidays).
Travelers from Moscow will be able to purchase a week-long tour to a 4-star hotel (flights, transfers, all-inclusive – included) for 120+ thousand rubles – if they go on a trip at the very beginning of spring.
As April approaches, prices rise. But not so much that it makes sense to abandon the idea – a tour for two under the same conditions will cost 135-140 thousand rubles.
If you are planning to take a child on vacation, you should focus on the level of 200 thousand.
Air tickets to Sharm from Moscow and back for 1 person and his luggage cost ~50 thousand rubles in early March. And, unfortunately, for this money the flights will only be transit ones – with a long wait for a transfer at any of the airports in Turkey.
It is curious that you will have to pay about the same for accommodation in the elite 5-star Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort. Where you won’t just be licked…

Things to do

There seem to be no attractions as such in Sharm el-Sheikh. Which is not surprising – this is a relatively young and purely resort town.
But there are a lot of interesting things can be visited nearby!
In particular, it is worth visiting the national marine park Ras Mohammed. Tourists usually do this by boat, purchasing an (inexpensive) sightseeing tour.
In the park it is customary to dive and snorkel, viewing the rich underwater world of the reserve. We only recommend not to forget that at this moment you may also be considered… as prey (the latest shark attacks in Egypt on tourists).
On vacation in Sharm el-Sheikh, it’s easy for fishing lovers to do what they love. Well, just adventurous individuals will try parasailing or race through the desert on an ATV.
Everyone, without exception, is recommended to hike Mount Sinai. Don’t miss the excellent chance to visit one of the first Christian monasteries on the planet, the monastery of St. Catherine.
A must see for connoisseurs of unique natural formations Colored Canyon in Sinai. Well, holders of “advanced” diving certificates will certainly want to dive into the most dangerous, but captivating Blue Hole near Dahab.
Of the long-distance tourist routes, we would especially highlight the one that leads from Sharm el-Sheikh to Jordan, to the legendary Petra. Well, if you haven’t seen the Great Pyramids before, visit Giza.
Moreover, in 2025 it finally opened Grand Egyptian Museum.
