Traveling by car is cheaper and more convenient than any other mode of transport. The main thing is to know the right routes and do not forget to fasten. We open the wider window, make the music louder and press on the gas – we have prepared for you the most interesting road route to the center of Europe – Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Italy.

We leave from Germany, from the island in the city of Lindau on Lake Bodensky. Before the start, you can take a walk along the historical part of the city, between the old houses with tiled roofs, go along the embankment to the lighthouse, take a photo as a keepsake – and go.

To get to Switzerland, you have to overcome about 450 kilometers along the alpine road – one of the most beautiful European routes. Along the way, you will meet many small Bavarian cities and villages. For example, the village of Oberstaufen, where in September a colorful holiday of cattle from alpine pastures is held in September. Or the Ettal monastery in the mountainous part of Bavaria, one of the largest Baroque monuments in the south of Germany. Do not forget to call in Garmish-Parthenkirhen, an alpine ski resort, with picturesque mountain gorges and medieval houses. As well as Bad Tölz, located at an altitude of 670 meters above sea level. You can download a detailed map of this part of the route here.

But the main thing on the alpine highway is not even villages and city, but an amazing view from mountain serpentine to alpine meadows, snowy peaks and dense forests with medieval castles. One of them is the Neuschwanstein Castle, not far from the Austrian border, which became the prototype of the castle of a sleeping beauty in the Disneyland Parisian.

You can stop for the night in a family hotel or a little Guesthouse, which are enough for the entire length of the route.

On the way to Switzerland, do not forget to call in Liechtenstein. The state is small, but it also has its own castles. One of them is the Vadutz castle, the official residence of the ruling Prince Liechtenstein. It will not be possible to get into the castle, but now you can tell everyone that you have been in Austria – visually these countries are not much different, except that the design of mailboxes.

A trip to Switzerland can be started with Zurich, and it is better to spend at least a day on the city itself. To see as much as possible in a short time, adhere to the scheme: 1) attractions (Church of St. Peter, the Cathedral of the Cathedral Grossmunster and others),

2) old streets and embankment (one of the most picturesque places in Zurich),

3) Shoping – Banghofstrasse Street (there are many shops of popular brands, exclusive boutiques and jewelry salons).

From Zurich it is worth geting to the Rhinsky waterfall (it is only 50 kilometers) and two small Swiss cities – Neuhausen and Shaffhausen located in the neighborhood. In the summer, the Rhinsky waterfall is gaining great power and turns into a continuous cloud of steam with amazing rainbows in beauty. You can park, rent a boat and swim to one of the islets on the river near the waterfall.

From Zurich to Bern, the actual capital of Switzerland, 120 kilometers. In Bern, it is worth linger of art for art – any European capital will envy the collections of local museums. The main attractions of the city are in its historical center: on the streets of Shuttalgasse, Marctgass and Kramgasse. Here are the prison and time towers, street fountains and the Gothic cathedral with the highest bell tower in Switzerland.

Then another 160 kilometers to the “capital of the world” – Geneva. She received such a nickname due to the headquarters of the UN and the Red Cross, as well as because of the nuclear physics laboratory with a large adron collider. In Geneva, with a dozen modern and ancient museums, narrow medieval streets and shopping centers.

From Geneva, go south, through the territory of France, along the D902 highway. Having drove a 11-kilometer tunnel under the Mon Blane, you will fall into the alpine valley of Aosta, lying among the slopes of the highest mountain peaks in Europe: Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and Matterhorn. Welcome to Italy!

From Aosta to Turin – 115 kilometers. Here you definitely need to do three things: 1) step on the stomach of the metal image of the bull (bull – symbol of the city),

which are a lot on the asphalt paths – for good luck, 2) go to any chocolate shop (Turin’s chocolate is an object of pride of Italians, it is sold around the world),

3) to visit the famous Egyptian museum – the world’s first museum dedicated to ancient Egypt.

From Turin, go south towards Florence. It will not be 420 kilometers to her, but it will not be boring – almost the whole way you will go along the Apennine mountains, stopping in small Italian towns and villages. Going into shops and shops, do not hesitate to bargain. If you do everything with a smile, you will quickly find a common language, even if you know nothing but the word Chippolino, in Italian.
