Montenegro justifies its name: these are not only the beaches and resorts of the Adriatic Sea, but also mountain massifs with canyons, green forests and turquoise lakes. How to get to Montenegro

National Park Durmior

The “roof of Montenegro” in the Dinar Alps is the quintessence of wildlife, mountain lakes and snowy peaks of only three hours of driving from the adriatic coast. 100 km of walking routes of different lengths are laid here for any physical training: you can go for a walk for half a day or to a mountain trekking for a couple of days with a tent. The entrance will cost 3 euros per person per day.
The main locations in the park that should be visited are an icekeeper black lake, an ice cave, the highest peak of bobots Cook (2523 m) and the peak of the planning. The routes in the park are marked, at the entrance there is a large map indicating the kilometer and approximate time of passage, but I advise you to download more cards in the application Maps.me.
To get to a dope and seize even more picturesque species along the way, drive along the way to Zhabebruit through the Pivskoye reservoir. In the city itself, stop for at least two to three days to slowly examine the surroundings.

Canyon of the Tara River

In the northern part of the Park Durmirator is the Canyon of the Tara River. If you go along the same road through Zhabebny, then the magic views will open on the way. In some areas, the depth of the canyon reaches 1300 m. The mountains are gentle and covered with forest, and relict black pines grow on the slopes, because of which Montenegro got its name.
Popular extreme lesson is rafting (from 40 euros per person). It is not necessary to have the experience of descents along the mountain rivers – they will teach in place, and the alloy of the second category of complexity itself, which is suitable for beginners and families with children.
Judzhevich bridge

Through the canyon of the Tara River, another signs of Montenegro – the reinforced concrete arched bridge Dzhurdzhevich, built in 1937 and survived the Second World War. Its height is 172 m, once it was the highest automobile bridge throughout Europe.
It is better to walk along the bridge on foot and take panoramic photos from the observation deck. It will not do without a thrill: there is a ziplasa nearby, where in 10 euros you can fly over the canyon from one shore to another.
Skadar Lake

The largest freshwater lake of Balkan is located on the border of Montenegro and Albania. If the plans are a water walk, then you need to get to the fishing village of Virpazar, which is 30 km from Podgorica. You can also drive a circular route around the lake: on the way you will find panoramic views, viewing platforms (the most popular – ViewPoint Štegvaš) and authentic Montenegrin villages.

A standard program is a viewing hour and a half boat with a boat with bathing and observing the local fauna (herons, pelicans, cormorants and other animals). Also in the middle of the lake there are islands with monasteries, chapels and fortresses, where you can call in during the tour. On the way back, I advise you to have lunch or dinner with a freshly dummy fish in one of the cafe in Virpazar.
Tip: negotiate a water walk immediately on a pier in Virpazar, prices start from 10 euros per person for a common boat and 25 euros per person for a private one.

Monastery Ostrog

The current male monastery is Ostrog is the main Orthodox shrine in the Balkans. It is cut down in a steep rock at an altitude of 900 m above sea level. It’s better to get to the place by car on a good road through Podgoritsa and Danilovgrad.
The monastery consists of two parts – the lower with the Church of the Holy Trinity and the upper with the temple, where the relics of St. Vasily Ostrozhsky are worshiped. Between them – 5 km of a forest road, with which beautiful views of the mountains open. In the afternoon, there are a lot of pilgrims in the square in front of the monastery, and at the entrance it is formed, so it is better to come after 16:00, when tourist buses leave.

Park-reserve Perekhchen and Mausoleum Nalhosha

Another Montenegrin National Park, the closest to the sea coast and located around Mount Okhen. You can get here from the city of Cetin or from which by the old narrow serpentine. Entrance to the park – 3 euros.
Here they arrange picnics in mountain coolness, ride bicycles (rent – 2 euros per hour), climb in the rope park and climb to the top of Lovchen, where the Mausoleum of the Montenegrin ruler Peter Negosh is located. There is also an observation deck where the panoramic view of the Kotorsky Bay, the Scadar Lake and numerous villages opens.
On the way back, you should look into the village of Negushi to try Negushsky to come (dried pork ham), prepared according to ancient local recipes.

Winery

In Montenegro, two wine regions – the coastal district near the Adriatic Sea and the region of Skadar Lake and Podgoritsa. Mostly red grape varieties are grown, the most famous is the enemy.
Most Montenegrin farms are small, this is a family business. But one stands out – this is the infantry winery with the largest vineyard in Europe and the cellar of the spike, equipped in the tunnel of the former Yugoslav air base. You can book a tasting and a full -fledged tour.
Other places for excursions are Savin’s family-house near Khertzeg-nin, small vinatar Lipovats, Vukmirovich and Klisich, where you can call on the way to the Skadar Lake.
National Park of Biogradsk-Gora

The oldest Montenegrin park, in the center of which is a transparent Biograd lake. Around it there is a picturesque pedestrian route for a couple of hours with wooden bridges and gazebos for relaxation, here you can also ride boats or bicycles. The entrance to the national park is paid – 3 euros. It is convenient to get by car from Kolashin.
