Altai in August 2025 – is it worth going to rest? Weather and reviews, air temperature, how to dress, what to take with you, prices for flights, in guest houses and camp sites. What to see in Altai in early August and closer to September than to do – in the Eurotraveler review.
Altai is actually not about rest in his classical sense. In any case, not about relaxation. Rather, about the rise to a new level in the knowledge of the world, the expansion of their own horizons, the discovery of new meanings of life. In general, this is a kind of work, and not always easy!
Perhaps that is why, and not at all because of money and distances, this Russian region still sees not many tourists. And about visiting Altai in August, he also dreams of a completely microscopic part of the gathers to go somewhere in Russia in the summer of citizens.
Since the majority breaks to the seas and strives mainly for relaxed rest. If the sorties that suggest, then usually short -term, allowing you to simply diversify beach leisure.
Well, this is also a choice. But this story is devoted to those who are tired of stereotypical thinking and dense human crowds. He strives for a certain solitude and knows a lot about true beauty.
In a word, we devote our review to those who are able to sacrifice a routine round to the (black) sea to go on a trip to Altai in August – it is best, of course, mountain. That is, I decided not to put it off for the times when “money will appear”, “everything will work out” and “the children grow up”.
Weather in Altai in August
It exists according to the usual “pilot” graphics and pays very little attention to tourist needs. So in general, it is worth preparing for several possible scenarios at once.
In early August, Altai, however, is usually warm, sometimes even hot. The air temperature is that in Gorno-Altaysk, that in the cuff and Chemal, even on the coast of Lake Taurus, it regularly reaches a range of +20-24 ° C. On some days, street thermometers can be registered to +30-32 ° C.
As for the August nights, they are in the region (both in the region and in the republic) is just not frosty. Depending on the place and height on the terrain, both +12-16 ° C, and stunning +4-6 ° C, can be fixed.
In the middle of the month, there is often a decline in weather moods. And even during the day the air warms up to +18-20 ° C tightly-not at all summer +12-13 ° C.
As for the weather in Altai at the end of August, she seems to be going again with the spirit. And as if saying goodbye to summer, it gives sunny and warm days with temperatures in the range of +18-25 degrees Celsius. When still a clear day is issued and impeccably, you are tempting you to reach the horizon with your hand and check whether the murals are in front of you?
By the way, about the sun. In Gorno-Altaysk, in August it gets up at 5.40-6.30 in the morning and enters at 9-8 pm. What promises the duration of daylight hours in the range from 15 hours and 25 minutes to about 13.5.
In fact, not so little – in any case, those who go on an altai tour will find a lot of advantages. Still: it lights up early, and gets dark late. Opportunities to get tired: seeing, overcoming and meditating – plenty of.
Precipitation
With all this, one should not count on a significant number of sunny days too much. Since very often the weather in Altai at the end of summer is not that frowning, but not averse to “cry”.
Not with rain, small rains. But they are also enough to turn the rise uphill through the modest clay into the test. Or complain that mountain views are hidden behind a foggy veil. However, you must admit that there is a sophisticated charm of this!
Ticks
It is worth considering that if mosquitoes are in the region: that is, then they are not or few, then the ticks in Altai in August are a real danger. Which in no case should not be neglected!
Therefore, you need to prepare for the trip thoughtfully and slowly. First of all, carefully choosing the clothes suitable specifically for such a trip.
What to take with you
If you take us a word for us, and then (just in case) read a sufficient number of reviews, you will understand that the weight of your expeditionary suitcase will hardly meet the permitted 23 kg. Those who go by car, of course, will be simpler.
Since in Altai even in August you need to take a lot of things. For example, several shifts of linen (you are unlikely to spend time “wash and dry”), as well as a whole wardrobe of warm clothes for different occasions.
Pants should ideally also be stable in contact with branches and waterproof. And, of course, have an understudy or even two in a suitcase. The necessary thing and socks. Moreover, not fashionable in our time is short, leaving full -time naked. And the real golfs that can be pulled on top of the trousers, thereby minimizing the chance of close contact with the tick.
A raincoat or windbreaker, a waterproof cloak that does not constrain movement, is definitely useful. We will also advise you to take at least two pairs of comfortable shoes with us. Which will not come into disorder from the type of first puddle met.
All sorts of fumigators take with them to Altai as desired. But sprays from ticks and other midges (vile) – just a mandatory object in baggage!
Take a first -aid kit with you and put things that need to be taken on a hike in a backpack. If it takes place, of course,-in theory, you can see Altai and, together with organizedly returning to the hotel after the day of travel-traffic excursions.
Prices 2025
It is one thing if you go to Altai from Novosibirsk and completely different – if from Moscow. Since in the first case to Gorno-Altaysk it will be possible to get in just 6-7 hours of machine move, and there will be such a trip to little money.
But the air travel from the Russian capital costs completely unbearable for many money-from 35-40 thousand rubles per 1 person. In both, however, the end. If you choose a barnaul region as a start point for the study of the region, you can save several thousand.
A little smaller, but also a very significant amount (from 27 thousand) will cost flights to Altai and back from Yekaterinburg or Chelyabinsk and back. Residents of St. Petersburg will have to be allocated only on the transport component of the trip to Altai from 35 kilo-rubles.
A room for two in one of the guest houses or a camp in Chemal in August will cost 3-4 and more thousand rubles a day.
You can rent a separate, even small house, if you have a sum of 5-8 thousand. For 10-15 kilo rubles per day, your large family or company will have a natural modern cottage. Where you can enjoy (well -deserved) rest without leaving the usual comfort zone.
The weekend tours cost from 22-25 thousand (nights in tents) for a person, 4-5 days with accommodation at camp sites are already pulled for 45-50 thousand rubles. To make a large -scale tour of the region, which will meet the framework of only 1 day, will turn out for a contribution of 20 thousand rubles to a small group or family.

What to see and what to do
The end of summer in Altai is the period that simply cries about the need for outdoor activities. After all, the weather in general will not put you “sticks in the wheels”, and on some days it will even be knocked out for real achievements.
One way or another, but first of all, having been in Altai in August, we will advise you to look, and it is better to just make a trip along the Chui tract. To capture in memory the panorama Katuna, which is bewitched by their beauty (possibly already turquoise), get to a mysterious geyser lake, visit an incredibly bright and positive Altai Mars.
Many at this time go on Altai further. They are storming on the SUV Perevo Yaryk pass, stop for several days on the southern shore of Lake Teletsky. And then they do not lazy and write reviews about their experience-IRECOMMEND.ru/teletskoe-Ozero-ochen-ponravilos.
In Lake Taurus, on some particularly hot August days, it can turn out and swim. But if not, you can get what you want in Lake Curse!
Also in the Altai Republic you need to go to the village of Chemal and personally go to the island of Patmos. As well as to explore the surroundings of the famous village: stand on (rusty) the Okokta bridge and evaluate the power of Katun at the Ewyland thresholds, look into the “blue eyes of Altai.”
Well, to those who will get through Barnaul, it’s just a sin to miss the opportunity to take a walk around this Siberian city. The preserved mass of wooden merchant houses of the 19th century!
