The resort of Nha Trang in Vietnam in May definitely belongs to the third category. Because at the end of spring it is characterized by weather conditions that not everyone will like.
But at the same time, they assume that the vacation at sea will be successful. And it will even bring pleasure!
For a variety of reasons, the main ones of which must be recognized as having almost no alternative sunny weather and quite reasonable prices for tours.
Of course, you need to take into account some important nuances (more on them below). But if you have no particular reason to doubt your health and its ability to not only digest, but also enjoy real heat day after day, then… at least consider this possibility.

May 1 and 2 are official holidays in Vietnam. To which neighboring dates are often “magnetized” and thus entire vacation weeks are created.

There may well be more, even at the very beginning of the month. But less is practically impossible.

But this amount also looks quite tolerable if you consider that during the “load” you will get an excellent beach at the hotel, as well as the opportunity to use the water park, fitness center and tennis courts (hardly useful in the heat).
Organizing a trip on your own is unlikely to lead to savings. It depends, of course, on where exactly you are flying from on vacation and on luck, but if you start from Moscow, it is better to expect to spend from 70 thousand rubles for an air ticket for one (for this money – only transit flights with a long waiting time for connections at Chinese airports).
But hotels in Nha Trang are familiar inexpensive. Moreover, even if they are located literally on the first line, next to the beach. Well, or very close to it.
For example, they often offer 50 percent discounts on accommodation at Ocean Pearl Residence Nha Trang. And this: an actual beach location, huge studios with an area of 40 m2 and beautiful panoramic views.
For a fee of about 150 € for three you can live here for a week. If this is not communism, then it is definitely not capitalism – it’s just not clear what part of this amount is the cost of maintaining the room.
In any case, in the excellent, albeit not first-class, Dolphin Hotel Nha Trang, you can stay for two for a week for less than 100 €.
Excursions
in Nha Trang and cruises along the coast are, if not inexpensive, still tolerable. And in general, entertainment (a walk around the city or a cruise around the islands with a snorkeling session) will cost 25-30 €.
A group tour to Dalat (4 hours one way) costs about 50-60 € per person.
Things to do
There is nothing to count on for any impressive sights in Nha Trang. Yes, it is a large and busy resort, full of life, movement, sounds and smells. But in May you are unlikely to be able to appreciate all this, since for the most part you will be looking for shade and air-conditioned places.
So, probably, visiting the Cham Towers, as well as climbing to the Big Buddha, should be postponed until better (less hot) times
Every first tourist vacationing at a resort wants to ride a cable car to Hon Tre Island. And spending several hours, or even days, in the Vinpearl water park – even hot weather in May is usually not considered a “contraindication”.
Not far from Nha Trang you can visit the Ba Ho waterfalls. Or go to their “colleagues” Yang Bay. Near which there are famous thermal springs.
