Kemer in May 2026 – is it worth going on vacation? Weather and reviews, air and water temperature, is it possible to swim, how to dress, what to take with you, prices in hotels and excursions. What to do and see in Kemer in early May and late spring, where to go with children and trips in the surrounding area – says Eurotraveler.

Once upon a time, citizens who were planning a beach holiday did not even want to hear about a full-fledged vacation at sea in May. Because, firstly, it was believed that in the spring it would not be possible to swim anywhere except in the tropical seas. And secondly, there was a strong stereotyped opinion that a good vacation can only be in the summer!

But simultaneously with the widespread use of the Internet and the appearance of a large number of reviews of vacation trips at previously seemingly completely “wrong” times, people began to see the light.

Gradually coming to the conclusion that stereotypical ideas are evil. And breaking established patterns is often not only pleasant, but also healthy.

In particular, it turned out that in Turkey you can relax in May, both on the beach and off it. And in many cases, without getting goosebumps and without even making any special efforts to force yourself, for example, to go into the sea.

Are there many such places in the mentioned Asian country? We wouldn’t say this for sure.

But we know one thing for sure – in Kemer in May you can swim and sunbathe. And in general get first class experience!

Without melting or even overheating. Along the way, restoring your nerves and health, as well as gaining an optimistic outlook on the world. And on the people around you!

Again, you obviously won’t be in danger of going broke either – hotels in Kemer offer good discounts until the start of the high beach season (which is mid-June – not earlier).

Miracle, how good? We checked and made sure that it is so!

Weather in Kemer in May

It fully justifies the expectations of those who ventured to come at this time. It’s warm, even hot at times, and the humidity has not yet reached summer levels.

And because: breathe easilyand shirts and dresses in most cases do not stick to the back!

At the very beginning of May, the air temperature in Kemer prefers to live in the range of +20-22 °C. A couple of times it can rise to +25 °C, as if indicating its future intentions, but then it still returns to +20 °C.

If this is enough for a comfortable stay, it is obviously not directly related to swimming in the sea. That is, sunbathing on the beach and going on excursions – please enjoy. But with the swims, we ask a little later.

Pleasure boat - Kemer enjoys warm weather in May

In mid-May, it is almost guaranteed to warm up to +26-28 °C in Kemer. But not always for a long time – the end of the month can also pass under the sign of cool (for these latitudes) weather – during the day no higher than +22-23 °C.

It gets cold at night! And sharply – sometimes up to +15-17 °C.

So, to the reviews where they talk about the need to take Kemer with you in the spring, relatively warm clothes or at least jackets, it’s worth listening. Especially when it comes to children, who can easily catch a cold due to normal hypothermia.

Is the weather always like this in Kemer in May? If you carefully study the reviews, it turns out that it can be hotter – up to +30-35 °C.

In reality, however, everything often turns out to be not so uniquely chic. Let us repeat that in other years, until the end of the month, street thermometers at the resort never want to show more than +20-22 °C.

As a result, tourists leave home, albeit rested, but disappointed. And already at home, once again harnessed to work, they find out that in Kemer – as soon as they left – the heat reached +30 ° C without a tear of rain.

Worth knowing

So to maximize your chances of good weather, plan your trip for the second half of the month. Or even later – the end of May in Kemer rarely misfires in the temperature sense.

Does it rain often? In fact, it is very moderate – for a maximum of 3-5 days the sky may drip or lightly water.

And sitting out such rain in your room is not a problem at all. And if you took the trouble to familiarize yourself with the forecast and planned an interesting long-distance excursion for “doubtful” dates, then you can do without temporary losses.

The winds during this period of the year, by the way, are not strong. And they won’t cause you problems.

Water temperature

Pampered people will find the sea in Kemer in May not warm enough for swimming. Why – +21-23 °C – in comparison with Thailand – this is clearly cool water.

Beach and sea - already in early May you can swim in Kemer

But to a significant number of potential tourists, those who are seasoned by swimming in the Baltic and North Seas, as well as the Black Sea, this water temperature will seem quite acceptable.

So Kemeri beaches in late spring are definitely not empty. And you can see a lot of holidaymakers in the water.

The purity of the sea in some places on the coast – including Chirali – can be considered incredible. But in Kemer itself, despite the assurances of the guidebooks, this is not always the case. Although usually much better than, say, in Gelendzhik.

Also keep in mind that due to the peculiarities of geography – Kemer is covered from the west by a series of high mountains – it becomes twilight and cool on the beaches by 7 pm. Although in fact at this time the sun sets behind the horizon around 8 or later!

Is it worth traveling with children?

Actually yes! Because the above advantages: a lot of sunlight, moderate heat, humidity up to 70% plus invigorating mountain air turn the resort into a kind of health sanatorium.

Something you definitely need to use!

Especially after the end (there is still snow in Russia) of the harsh winter and due to vitamin deficiency being so common at this time of year. You just need to rule out that your child is allergic to pollen from flowering plants and be sure to go.

Well, upon arrival in Kemer, try not to lean too much on fruits and berries. This, however, is difficult to do – the spring strawberry harvest in Turkey is in full swing, and prices are constantly falling.

The counters are also bursting with fresh ones, fresh from the tree: cherries, quinces, medlars and mulberries.

Prices 2026

Independent tourists have complete freedom in choosing hotels and travel. And is able to plan a more eventful vacation in terms of travel and sightseeing.

Because, for example, for a flight Moscow-Antalya and back at the end of spring you need to pay about 50 thousand rubles (500 €). And approximately the same amount will have to be paid for a week’s stay of 2-4 people in a decent hotel in Kemer (we recommend World Cities Residence).

You can also stay nearby. For example, we are still delighted with the tiny and cozy Chirali village.

Where you can stay, for example, in the expensive (from 100 € per night for two), but wonderful Hotel Villa Monte in a rustic style. From which you can walk to the sea in just 3 minutes.

Much more affordable prices are set by Cirali Friends Pension&Camping, located not much further from the coastline. Which is a nice one-story house with windows overlooking an orange garden.

Things to do

At the end of spring, Türkiye blooms naturally! And, of course, you need to take advantage of this – only very tired or family tourists with small children should plunge headlong into the abyss of a beach holiday.

For which, of course, the sun, sea and air are much more important. And, of course, fruits – in May, as we have already said, the season of strawberries and cherries begins in Turkey.

In general, if you can take a little break from your beach holiday, we recommend getting active. Moreover, there is essentially nothing to do in Kemer itself.

Except, of course, for purely seaside entertainment. Which – paragliding, surfing, sea fishing, diving – at the beginning of May are just beginning to wake up after hibernation.

But in the vicinity of the resort there are so many wonderful things to diversify your holiday it will work out without problems. Especially if you know how to drive and are not afraid to rent a car.

Because in this case it will be possible to easily get to the beginning of the cable car to Tahtali and climb to the main peak of Antalya province. Visit a slide that literally spews fire and has the self-explanatory name Chimera.

See the ruins of the ancient cities of Phaselis and Olympos. Get to the start of the trail and then climb towards Termessos.

In Demre and Mira, on the island of Kekova, tourists usually go on organized excursions. But if you are well versed in the history of the place and do not need the guide’s remarks, organize such a trip yourself.

Also in the vicinity of the resort you can take the Lycian Way. And walk the required number of kilometers towards Kas and Fethiye.

By the way, oh

Porridge

an underrated seaside town in the very south of the province. That is, not so much about him as about the ancient ruins in Patara. The city where, according to legend, Saint Nicholas was born.

Today, tourists go to Patara mainly to sunbathe on the beautiful sandy beach. The longest in Turkey!

Coast, Kemer in spring - it’s worth going here on vacation!

Not far from Kas there is the well-known “postcard” beach of Kaputas. In May, fortunately, it is not yet crowded with people wanting to swim in the clear turquoise sea.

Having settled in Kemer, it would probably be right to see Antalya at least in 1 day. Not just the main city of the famous beach region, but also an ancient settlement with some well-preserved architectural artifacts.

There are also large shopping centers in Antalya – in Turkey you can buy not only souvenirs, but also quite practical things. Like clothes and shoes, cosmetics, even groceries.

Long trips

No matter how good it is in Kemer itself and its relatively close surroundings, some tourists go to other regions of Turkey. Encouraged by the warm, but not yet stifling weather and the relatively small number of competitors.

A trip to the travertine terraces of Pamukkale and the ruins of Hierapolis is the most common, although not very correct, option.

Yes, the distance is frankly small – 280 km along the highway – and turn around per day quite real. But then you are almost guaranteed to have to wander among a very large number of people who want to see the Turkish “miracle of the world”. They came from literally all the resorts in Turkey and Istanbul itself.

But Cappadocia at the beginning of May can still boast of a number of foreigners that is not at all like summer. Although the weather in this region of Turkey, replete with original and simply amazing natural landscapes, allows you not to leave the “street” even at night.

And in at least 2-3 days you can see all the significant sights. Both from the ground and from the air.

You can equally get from the Turkish Riviera to Istanbul. Both by land: by car or bus, and by air. True, such a large-scale trip is difficult to squeeze into the format of a week or 10-day vacation at sea.

But if you have time, why not? After all, the weather in Istanbul in May is warm and clear, and this city itself is large and immensely beautiful.

The tulips in the city gardens have not yet faded, the sky is fresh and clean. And the sun bestows its light so often, as if it wants to compensate for what was lost during the cloudy winter weeks.
