If you come to Prague not for the first time, or just tired of standard tourist attractions, you will probably want to see something new. Fortunately, in Prague there are no problems with this – in addition to what is described in each guidebook, there are also many interesting places that not all visitors know about.

Morning walk

In order to see Prague from a different angle, it is not even necessary to look for special places, the first step can be just a correctly selected time. For example, if you overpower yourself, get up early and come to the Old Town Square or Karlov’s bridge at 5-6 in the morning, you can simply not recognize these places-from morning till night people are full of people, early in the morning they will be completely empty, so you can see them in a completely different angle.

David Black Sculptures

In addition to the historical architecture, which is so famous for the Czech capital, in Prague is very positive about modern art. One of the most famous sculptors in Prague is David Black, his work is like shocking and provocativeness, bordering on hooliganism. Arrange a whole quest for the search for all its sculptures, especially since they are scattered throughout the city, so along the way you can visit many parts of Prague.

“Where are you going?” (Quo vadis?)

This is one of the first sculptures that brought wide glory to black, it depicts a “trabant” car, standing on human legs instead of wheels, and symbolizes the time when the residents of the GDR were massively emigrated to Prague on the TRABAN brand, popular at that time, in order to get political asylum. Now the sculpture is located on the territory of the German Embassy.

Franz Kafka’s head (Hlava Franze Kafky)

Kafka was born and buried in Prague, much is connected with his work here. Black immortalized the famous philosopher in the form of a 10-meter sculpture, which is located in the very center, next to the metro station “National Prospekt” (Národní třída). The head of Kafka is made of 42 mirror disks that constantly turn.

“Pissing Men” (čůrající postavy)

This sculpture-Fontan, installed next to the Museum of Franz Kafka, depicts two adult men pissing to the surface resembling a map of the Czech Republic. A certain plus of sculpture is that they can do their job not chaotic, but write your text with a stream – for this you need to send an SMS to a certain number.

Embryo (Embryo)

In 2008, the Black Black Black posted another work dedicated to his 50th anniversary on the Building Na Zabradli building. A luminous embryo of metal, plastic and epoxy resin is placed on the drain pipe of the building. It would seem, how are the embryo and the theater connected? The author’s conceit remains in his head, but most often he is interpreted as a monument to the “emergence of creative life”.

“Babies” (Miminka Babies)

Brilliant bronze “babies” of black, perhaps, his most famous work. Initially, they were installed on the Zizhkovskaya television tower, and now their copies can also be seen in the campaign park.

“Hanging person” (ViseLEC)

A person who sees the beam hanging from the roof of the house depicts Zigmund Freud. One of the interpretations is that the author wanted to show the abyss between the famous psychoanalyst and ordinary people who are far from psychoanalysis. However, some learn in this sculpture the features of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, symbolizing communism hanging in the balance.

“Inverted horse” (kůň)

The sculpture is located in the passage of Lucerna (Lucerna) and depicts the Czech Prince Vaclav, sitting on his stomach suspended by the legs, a dead horse with a tongue hanging from his mouth. It is a parody of the famous equestrian monument to Vaclav, but what symbolizes is left to guess.

Monument to the sinking (Brownnosers)

This, perhaps, is one of the most provocative works of black, is two naked human figures leaning toward the wall at an angle of 90 degrees. A staircase faces the back of the sculpture facing the viewer, and inside a video is spinning in which the artist Milan of books feeds the ex-president of the Czech Republic of Vaclav Klaus Kashi. Apparently for the Czechs familiar with the political history of their country, this video has a much greater meaning than for visiting tourists, who, however, also have the most appearance of the sculpture.

“Red Cars” on the MeeTFactory wall

Two red cars hang vertically on the wall of the building of the Center for Culture Meetfactory. Perhaps this work is less known, but given that the place where it is located is interesting, it makes sense to visit here.

Meetfactory

Meetfactory, as you can guess from the name, is a meat factory. However, his “meat” affairs in the past, now in this building there is a fashionable “art space”, which, by the way, is organized by the same David black. True, unlike most of his works, this place does not express any protest, but rather, on the contrary, it unites modern talented masters under its roof, both local and visitors. This is both a concert hall, and a gallery and a cinema, alternative musical groups perform here, exhibitions are held and arthous cinema show.

CrossClub club

This underground club is one of the most popular among local residents. It is attractive to its atmosphere and a futuristic interior – inside all kinds of mechanisms, flashing and moving figures, unusual chairs, many transitions and corridors. Once inside, you feel yourself on the set of a science fiction film. Periodically, concerts of rock and punk groups are held here, so if this culture is close to you, the place should like.

Pivnoye-DPO

Of course, speaking of Prague, one cannot help but mention beer. Ordinary bars are located here on every corner, but if you want something more original, then look at the restaurant “Vytopna” (Vytopna). Its peculiarity lies in the fact that all tables are interconnected by a model of the railway along which a mini-road with beer moves. They load on the bar and return there with dirty dishes “on board” – the taste of beer, of course, does not become better, but the surroundings are very interesting. Do not forget to book a table – as a rule, there are enough people who want to get a beer order by rail.

Photo: Sauna

Beer sauna

Well, if you want to immerse yourself as much as possible in beer traditions in every sense of the word, then we recommend going to a beer sauna. As a rule, rest in such places consists of several parts – at first the guests are warming up in the Finnish sauna, then plunge into an oak barrel with a beer solution, and then rest on a heated straw bed. A brewer’s beer mixture, usually consists of mineral water, beer wort with hops, malt and beer yeast, as well as oils and herbal extracts. There is no alcohol in this mixture, but more often than not, a pavement is brought to the barrel, the use of which in unlimited quantities is included in the price of the procedure.
