Lucca

Having overcome only 23 km from Pisa on a paid road, you will arrive in another interesting city in the region. Lucca is less famous than Pisa, but no less beautiful.

Florence

It is literally impossible to say that you looked at Tuscan, while not seeing its main city. Moreover, to go from Pisa to Florence only 75 km (from Lucca – about 70 km), that is, a little more than an hour.

To take for an inspection all day is literally funny. And in 2 days to see Florence with all its attractions is difficult. However, there is a chance that you will quickly get tired and want to go further.

For the capital of Tuscany is almost always crowded with tourists! In view of which they do not care too much about prices in hotels and restaurants, as well as the quality of dishes. Jalato here is almost everywhere ordinary, paste and pizza, as well as other dishes of original Italian cuisine in restaurants and cafes are often no better than store.

Being in Tuscany, it is simply unreasonable not to call into the “City of 14 Bates”. If UNESCO itself has already noticed him, then it is simply a sin to ignore an ordinary tourist to ignore such a famous place. Moreover, San Jiminyano is very convenient: halfway from Florence to Sienna.

The main minus is that there are often a lot of tourists in the town, especially organized, walking along the streets with a friendly slender detachment. A pleasant plus – the car will be wrapped for free from the city walls.

Volturra

Having twisted a little along the winding paths (about 40 km) and driving even further sideways from the highway connecting Florence with Siena, you will fall into Voltaurra. A charming sleepy town, peaceful, like a lizard in the sun.

Guidebooks say something important about the city walls and gates. But you just walk the streets and look from its walls to Tuscany. We guarantee that something similar to Nirvana will visit you!

Sienna

“Stirlitz, and I will ask you to stay,” for some reason this phrase wants to start a conversation about Sienna. The city is old and proud, incredibly beautiful and charismatic. But the mass tourist of interest – and this is good – as if in passing.

This is a big mistake, but let the majority do it further. And the minority will come and find what to see in Sienna and in 2-3 days. Or even a week?!

In order to remember this time with warmth later. Since it is in Siena that Tuscany’s heart beats!

Stopping in the city center traveling by car tourists, again, is completely unreasonable. It is much more visionary to stop near him – for example, in an inexpensive and very comfortable Cameere di Betta, from our point of view simply perfect for car travelers.

Montalchino

Also, not spoiled by the attention of the package foreigners, a town of 45 km south of Sienna is famous for his wine Brunello. As if the best and most expensive in Italy is 35 €, I remember, it was a minimum price for a bottle in there.

However, you can buy alcohol and cheaper – Rosso di Montalchino is valued from 12 € per bottle. If you don’t specifically configure yourself, you will not feel any difference with it three times an expensive fellow.

It is about 6 km of sand. The shore is almost not equipped in terms of amenities (sun loungers, tents, changing rooms and showering), but promises simply an excellent, carefree pastime.

Therefore, it is better to stop in the town of Porto-Erolo at Cape Argentario, or in Ansedonia. Both there and there family hotels and apartments are not particularly cheap. But you will definitely complete the trip along the Tuscany on a high note!
