Malaga-Park Torkal-Antekera-El Chorro gorge-Setenil-de-Las-Bodegas-Ronda-Khuskar

Go to the north from Malaga without going to the AP-46 paid route (in Spain, the paid highways begin with the letters “AP”). This National Park Torcal – The impressive cluster of weathered rocks, stones and caves belonging to the Jurassic period. Several pedestrian routes are laid in the park, the simplest of which is green. This is 1.5 km and 30-40 minutes on foot to beautiful views. 20 km from Torcal is located The ancient city of Antekera. In addition to beautiful species of Arabic Alkasaba fortressestowering above the city, and many old buildings, there are several prehistoric dolmens: Menga, Viera and El Romeral. and Pio Antequrano (cold snack from oranges, cod, onions and boiled eggs). Mollete Antequrano bucks (Antector Bun) is known throughout Spain. These dishes can be found in most a city cafe.

After the antekera, go along the A-343 road to the next significant location- gorges El Chorro. The road will take no more than an hour and will invariably delight you with beautiful views of mountain Andalusia. Having reached El Cherroleave the car in the parking lot (GPS coordinates: 36.911958, -4.764022) and go along the path with signs that will lead you to the gorge. The whole path is about 2 km and ends with a beautiful observation deck and Royal path (El Caminito del Rey). The royal path is a structure consisting of concrete and crutches and railway rails driven into a rock. It connects the waterfalls of Chorro and Gaitaneho and at the beginning of the twentieth century was actively used by workers for the construction of hydroelectric power plants. Now the Royal is attracting extremal from around the world.

Entrance to El Cherro is paid. At the same time, no more than 400 people can be located here. Opening hours: from 10:00 to 17:00 (from November to the end of March – until 14:00). Tickets must be bought in advance on the site for 10 euros. There you can also sign up for the passage of the royal path.

The miracles of Andalusia do not end for you. After another hour, you will fall into an amazing way along our route Setenil de las-bodegas – The city over which the cliffs hang. The houses here are cut into basalt cliffs and are a continuation of natural caves.

It is worth driving through the village of Khuskar. This unremarkable village in 2011 concluded a contract with Sony Pictures, after which the whole city was painted in blue (including the ancient church and municipal buildings) to promote the cartoon of the darkness. The contract has already expired, but local residents are in no hurry to repaint their homes back: this is how the city attracts much more tourists.
