Phuket in April 2026 – Is it worth going on vacation? Weather and reviews, water and air temperature, beaches without waves, prices for tours, air tickets and hotels. What to do and what to see in Phuket in April, where to go with a child – says Eurotraveler.

Dedicated to active adventure seekers! For those who can afford to go in April not to a neighboring city or even on a short trip around Belarus, but much further.

There, where the sun is burning hot, the palm trees, worn out from the heat and stuffiness, lazily move their “Iroquois”. And a sea of eye-catching shades lazily crawls onto the sand, knowing for sure that rushing anywhere is harmful.

Where life flows smoothly and pleasantly, lazily. And the information storms shaking humanity look like nothing more than strange, scary fairy tales.

In a word, we invite you to visit Phuket in April. On an island, that is, or rather, in a small world, at this time indulging in his favorite pastime – enjoying life. And literally tempting someone who is not bothered by heat and high humidity to do the same thing.

Yes, you heard right – Phuket is in April peak of Thai summer. In a period that is truly sultry and clearly “not for everyone,” but at the same time promising!

After all, if there are a lot of other tourists around, then still not too many. And prices are already going down compared to the high winter season and March!

If not at the very beginning of April, then after the Thai New Year, Songkran, which traditionally falls on April 13-15 and marks the change of (local) seasons – for sure!

Do you want to wait a little longer and relax in Phuket in May, so that definitely save money?

We won’t dissuade you, but let’s assume that at the end of spring the “rainy season” will already arrive on a tropical island

It frightened both before and now (to a much lesser extent, however – discounts decide) a significant number of people who want to come to Thailand.

However, enough empty words – let’s move on to the facts!

Weather in Phuket in April

On the one hand, it will greatly please a vacationer who has managed to freeze during the winter. On the other hand, in the middle of spring the atmosphere here heats up to such temperatures that it will be too much for some.

For example, in early April in Phuket it is often not only warm, but also extremely hot. By midday the air temperature without serious effort reaches +36-38 °C, and the humidity does not want to drop below 75-80%.

Naturally, such conditions force us to approach planning off-beach activities with caution. So, in mid-spring, many people usually limit themselves to just 1-2 excursions around Phuket.

Well, maybe they’ll take a cruise across the Andaman Sea to some islands. It is unwise to ignore this opportunity at any time of the year!

Usually in the evenings and nights noticeably coolerin the early morning it happens “only” +24-26 °C. So, in general, the opportunity to enjoy swimming and the view of the sun rising over the mountains or setting into the sea is always present.

Just in time for the Thai New Year, that is, in mid-April, the weather in Phuket changes somewhat. At night it becomes much warmer, up to +28-30 °C, and during the day, on the contrary, it gets colder.

That is, weather forecasters regularly predict this – tourists are unlikely to notice a drop in temperature from +34-36 °C to +31-33 °C.

Precipitation

Cloudy days predominate; there are not very many clear days throughout the month. So initially you should prepare for stuffiness and think about solving such an important issue as drying beach towels and swimsuits (swimming trunks).

You will almost certainly witness at least one heavy downpour. Most likely, of course, even several.

But the prolonged rains, fortunately, not typical for April Phuket. So, with almost 100% probability, you won’t have to complain about “how stupid I am” for coming here during the “wet season.”

Sea temperature

As in March, it refreshes only at strictly certain moments of the day – in the morning. So, although it is possible to swim in Phuket in April, not everyone is going to do it all the time.

Amazing, right? After all, looking at the statistics – and they guarantee heating water to +29-31 °C – every first one will draw the exact opposite conclusion. That he will crawl out of this very water only sporadically.

Alas, this is not so – it turns out that not everyone likes swimming in too warm a sea. Again, this will not be possible every day or even possible.

Because, despite all the optimistic predictions of guidebooks, in the middle of spring in Phuket there are windy periods. And then the Andaman Sea brings down mighty swells on its western shore, simultaneously docking various debris onto the beaches.

This doesn’t happen too often. Therefore, in reviews of holidays in Phuket in April, happy (and what else?) tourists practically do not pay attention to the wind and waves no attention.

On the contrary, they describe in detail how much they managed to see and do – otzyv.ru/review/207460/.

Which beach in Phuket should you choose for your holiday in April? We recommend paying attention to least touristy places.

In particular, for some reason there are not too many vacationers on Karon at this time.

Families with children should enjoy the central part of Phuket’s largest beach, Bang Tao. Romantics will certainly be able to enjoy solitude in its northern part.

Well, Nai Harn is considered a classic of the genre, which gets crowded only at the peak of the winter season.

Prices 2026

For a tour from Moscow to Phuket in early April, a couple of travelers will have to pay from 170-180 thousand (with a discount – from 150 thousand) rubles. The price will include roundtrip flights and transfers from (to) the airport, as well as 6-7 days of accommodation and breakfast.

Is it possible to fly to Phuket in April on your own? Of course, just before that it’s better to do a little outreach work “within yourself.”

Because the prices are impressive, but more with a minus sign. So for those who would not like to tie themselves to the terms of the tour, that is, a specific hotel, and intend to both spend a few nights in Phuket itself and (for example) live in a tent camp on the Similan Islands, you need to focus on the following levels (from Moscow):

  • a flight by Chinese air carriers with transit connections at Chinese airports will cost 62-65+ thousand rubles. And for this money you still have to suffer, spending 15-16 hours or more on the road in each direction.
  • But accommodation in good hotels is rapidly becoming cheaper. So for a day spent, for example, at Patong Palace Hotel – SHA Extra Plus, you will pay about 60 €. And settle in a quiet place, but in the center of resort life
  • A room at Babylon Pool Villas costs even less, which should be considered an excellent base point for a holiday on Nai Harn Beach. Unless, of course, you are lucky enough to book it at a discount

You can rent a bike in Phuket from 2026 if you are willing to spend about 300 baht per day. The car will cost more – 900+ baht per day.

Just remember to mentally prepare yourself for the fact that traffic on the island is not only chaotic at times, but also left-handed

For a sightseeing tour of Phuket (Phuket Secret, Wat Chalong, Big Buddha) you will pay from 40-45 €. About the same amount, maybe about 50 € per person, will cost a trip in April to some popular archipelago like the Similan Islands or Phi Phi – on a speedboat.

Note

Tourists who know how to think a little more broadly initially include in their plan a stop on the archipelago for several days. Fortunately, hotels on Phi Phi Don are not particularly expensive at this time of year.

Things to do

You won’t be bored – that’s for sure! And the point is not only that the list of interesting places in Phuket only increases with each new year, but also that in April the most joyful holiday is celebrated in Thailand – New Year.

You can read more about the traditions of meeting Thai Songkran in many places, for example, on Wikipedia.

We, if you plan to be in Phuket exactly in mid-April, will advise prepare for thatthat you will almost certainly be scammed. And then they’ll sprinkle it with something similar to flour…

Also, it is in April that Phuket Bike Week is held (in 2025 it was held on April 11-12). And at the end of the month, a very touching event occurs – on the Bang Tao beach, grown-up turtles are released from the nursery into the sea, into adulthood.

There is also a rehabilitation center for gibbons and elephants in Phuket – two completely unique projects that have no analogues in the world. Once again, we recommend paying special attention to the adrenaline-filled “World of Hanuman,” a rope park organically built into the jungle.

Vacationers with children will almost certainly have to spend money on visiting a water park. Literally every first family tourist considers it their duty to spend a few hours in FantaSea amusement park.

  • What things cannot be brought into Thailand
  • When is the best time to fly to Thailand for a seaside holiday?
  • Where are other good Thai resorts?
  • Is it worth going to Phuket in June?
