Yerevan in April 2026 – is it worth going? Weather and reviews, air temperature and rain, how to dress, prices for air tickets, hotels and excursions. What to do and see in Yerevan in April, where to go in Armenia – says Eurotraveler.
Yes, we all know that it gets warm in Armenia in May – is it for nothing that everyone enthusiastically goes there at this time? But this country is good even in April.
Because it is blooming! Delicate: cherry, plum, apple and pear color.
Dali become transparentalthough sometimes they are shrouded in fog. And the sky turns tender and fresh blue – apparently, it also rejoices at the visible end of winter.
The snow, of course, disappeared, if it existed at all, back in March. But tourists still not enough.
And this is an additional reason to visit Yerevan in April. Plus travel around Armenia!
You can do it yourself, because renting a car here is not a particularly expensive pleasure. And you won’t have to strain yourself while driving, since the traffic was nowhere near that of Moscow.
Will not be surprised by unpleasant prices hotels, as well as organized excursions to the same Khor Virap and Noravank. And, in principle, throughout the country…
Will it be possible to do something unexpected and original, for example, visit Georgia? Definitely – in this there’s nothing complicated!
And the distance between Yerevan and Tbilisi simply provokes a trip – well, what is 280 km? The only question is: is there enough time for everything?!
Weather in Yerevan in April
Moves you to action! And how could it be otherwise, when the thermometer shows more and more every day? optimistic figuresand rain is only in the forecasts?
Although no – it can drip. But in such a way that you get wet through and through – not at this time!
In the reviews, which is typical, you won’t find any lamentations about this at all – sheer delight.

The air temperature in Yerevan in early April ranges between +15-18 degrees Celsius. But already in the second ten days of the month it is decided to do more – during the day the atmosphere can even warm up up to +23-25 °С.
On the threshold of May, street thermometers may show +27-28 °C!
Naturally, nature reacts to this accordingly. Blooming every single bud and filling parks and squares with the foam of flowering trees.
Such a feast of summer temperatures does not happen every year, of course. But it turns out to be a different year exceptional.
And then the weather in Yerevan at the end of April seems to hit the rocks. Subjectively – even overdoing it!
After all, how, tell me, can you listen carefully to a guide while walking around the city at almost 30 degrees Celsius (this is in the shade, in the sun it’s simply impossible to be)?
At the same time, nights in mid-spring in Yerevan can be downright cold. It’s as if Ararat looks with an icy gaze at the city lying in front of it, and you get +6-8 °C instead of the expected +15 °C!
Sometimes even less – sometimes at night the air temperatures don’t even want to hear about anything above +3-5 °C!
Rains, as already mentioned, are rare in Yerevan in April and in Armenia in general. And the winds are only refreshing.
But anyway the mountain breezes are here make life easier, not more difficult. Unlike the winds that vacationers in Tbilisi often complain about in April.
How to dress
Reviews are full of photos of frivolously dressed people, wearing shirts and T-shirts, posing against the backdrop of ancient churches and colorful rocks. But in fact, the weather in April in Armenia – especially in the first half – not always allows dress like that.
You need to be prepared for fog, some chilliness and even frank coolnessespecially in the morning. Especially if you are going to leave Yerevan for an excursion to Noravank. Well, or to a similar location, lost in a mountain gorge.
In general, stock up extra warm clothes. That is, in addition to a quilted jacket, also take a vest (pullover, sweatshirt).
At the same time, of course, we don’t forget about the lightweight option – sometimes a T-shirt with jeans is more than enough!

We wear comfortable shoes – our favorite worn-in sneakers are enough for all occasions. And woolen hats and scarves, in principle, can be left at home – they have very little chance of being useful.

Prices 2026
An independent traveler with proper planning will be able to provide himself with maximum chances of getting bright (and positive, of course) impressions. But at the same time, you can hardly count on cheapness.
Since air tickets from Moscow to Yerevan and back alone will cost ~300-350 € per person in April (direct flights, duration about 3 hours).
Hotels in the center of the Armenian capital or near it in mid-spring inexpensiveyou can rent a room for two for only 30-40 € per day. You just need to be able to search and confidently brush aside “profitable” offers.
We, as democratic and relatively sporty people, recommend first of all to pay attention to the Art Guest House in KASKAD next to the famous Cascade. Modest, inexpensive, but at the same time very good guest house.
The only noticeable drawback that can be considered is its literally elevated location.
Also very good (thanks to the owner) is Yerevan’s Heart. In theory, a little more expensive (about 50 € per night for two), but included in the price impressive homemade breakfasts.
This guesthouse is located in a convenient (for a traveler) location: not far from both the Cascade and Freedom Square.
Participation in a 2.5-3-hour excursion around Yerevan will cost at ~20-25 € per person. You can make a trip outside the city: to Vagharshapat, to Garni and Geghard, to Lake Sevan if you invest in this event from 25-30 €.
Moreover, as a reward you will receive “2”, or even all “3 in 1”. For example, on the way to Sevan you will stop at Garni and Geghard.
Purchasing a tour
The cost of such pleasure, however, I wouldn’t call it low. After all, 5-day tours around Armenia in mid-spring for two people cost from 100 thousand rubles and above (air tickets are not included).

Naturally, there are other disadvantages.
Firstly, you will be tied hand and foot by your place of residence – it will not be possible to change the hotel and go and see the same Sevan or Dilijan for a couple of days. Again, it is very likely that you will be accommodated not in the best hotels and not in the city center.
And that means goodbye to the morning promenades among buildings sparkling in the sun with pink and white tuff. By the time you get up, eat, get dressed and get ready, half a day will have passed…
And the evening program will have to be shortened somewhat – after all, you need to set aside time to get to the periphery?!
Things to do
We, of course, will not interfere with your program of visiting the Armenian capital. We can only modestly recommend visiting Yerevan in April at different times of the day Republic Square – in fact, this is often mentioned in reviews.
That is, do this both in daylight, in the rays of the rising sun, and late in the evening. In the rays of illumination, the surrounding square of the house and the fountain look truly magical.
It is unlikely that you will be able to bypass the famous Yerevan Cascade. And the park named after Tamanyan, which occupies an entire area at its foot – in April, take a walk here, among the green trees, especially nice.
It’s also useful for a family photo album or your Instagram account. After all, not a single review or photo report about Yerevan is complete without depicting examples of contemporary art living here.
For example, sculptures of a smug the fattest cat. Or a smoking woman. A completely fearless Roman warrior and a very dangerous-looking disheveled lion.
Where to go
The main, that is, the most ancient sights of Armenia are located outside its capital. And in order to see most of them, you will have to allocate 3 daysno less.
After all, one of them is guaranteed to take trip to Garni Every foreigner considers it his duty to see the beautifully proportioned temple there. In addition, how can one not take a walk in the spring along the gorge of the same name that cuts through the hill, decorated with a marvelous work of nature – the “Symphony of Stones”?
Any excursion to Garni from Yerevan also includes a continuation – a visit to ancient monastery of Geghard.

Naturally, independent travelers will also move in that direction. If they guess (decide) to rent a vehicle or agree on a trip of 10 kilometers with one of the locals.
Arch of Charents halfway from the capital to Garni – wonderful view point to Ararat. Well known to everyone and therefore usually crowded with people who want to take pictures of themselves against the backdrop of the biblical peak.
The second day will be spent visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Etchmiadzin Monastery. And the legendary churches of Vagharshapat, considered one of the oldest Christian churches in the world.
The Etchmiadzin Cathedral was founded when Emperor Diocletian ruled in Rome, at the beginning of the 4th century. And the Hripsime Church arose in the 7th century.
Moreover, they built it on the foundation of a previously existing ancient Greek temple!
Trip to Khor Virapto the “deep pit”, where the enlightener of Armenia, St. Gregory, was kept in captivity for 13 years, is also listed among the obligatory events. Including because of the excellent view from the monastery hill view of Ararat.
The latter, however, does not show his impressive face to everyone. Reviews often complain about the closing mountain foggy veil.
Paired with Khor Virap
should be put Noravank Monastery. Also ancient and located, in addition, in an exceptionally photogenic area.
Day four can be devoted Lake Sevan and Sevanank Monasterystanding on the shore of the “Armenian Sea”. And also a visit to the town of Dilijan, where it is logical to stop for the night.
For example, in the rather expensive, but very praised by travelers, Cozy House.
The next morning you can discover a couple more monasteries: Haghartsin and Goshavank!
If you have an extra day of time, you can spend it on travel in a southeast direction. Where the very full-flowing spring and simply beautiful Shaki waterfall lives.
Drive a little further and you’ll reach Vorotnavank monastery. Rarely mentioned in reports, he has an incredible aura.
It’s no wonder that the citizens who reached its walls unanimously report on the tranquility that visited them and some incredible relaxation of the soul!
