Hainan in June

Hainan in June 2026 – is it worth going on vacation? Weather in Sanya and Dadonghai, reviews, sea and air temperature, humidity, probability of typhoons, whether you can swim, prices for tours, air tickets and hotels. What to do, where to go and visit in Hainan in June, what fruits to try – says Eurotraveler.

Relaxing by the sea, swimming, relaxing on the beach is one thing. Doing it safely and for an amount that won’t break your own (or family’s) budget is something else entirely.

And choosing a favorable time for a trip today is no longer half the battle (success), barely 25%! Many people already agree to go to a place where they can spend their vacation calmly and joyfully, even in a (seemingly) inappropriate month.

For example, we highly recommend considering the option of traveling to Hainan in June. An island in China, considered by no means not the best place in the world for relaxing at sea in the summer and (partially) autumn months.

Which, it seems, today is more of a stereotype than a reflection of the real state of affairs. After all, what is “blamed” on Hainan in June?

Heat? Well, in Antalya or Kemer at this time she is leaving healthy boundaries!

High humidity? We assure you that on the coast in southern Turkey it will not be lower.

Rain? Yes, they are, of course, stronger: the tropics are the tropics. But you probably know that in June people go to Phuket on vacation, knowing full well that they may face a literal flood.

Typhoons? And it’s true – the likelihood of such natural phenomena occurring off the coast of China in June is definitely not zero. However, it doesn’t even come close to the sacramental 100 percent.

As for the rest… however, let’s take it in order!

Briefly

  1. When is the best time to go to Hainan? There is no secret here: the period from December to April is considered optimal. When the number of tourists, and with them prices, is maximum
  2. Is it true that summer is the low season in Hainan? This is a common belief. Although we consider the summer months to be a relatively good time to travel to the island. If you do not have serious health problems and are able to tolerate really hot (+35 degrees Celsius – everyday reality) weather
  3. Will it be possible to swim regularly in Hainan in June? The probability of this may not be maximum, but still quite high. Since it doesn’t rain every day, and the sea is warmed up to a temperature of +29-30 °C

Sometimes in Hainan in June you can swim in the sea

Weather in Hainan in June

It won’t suit everyone, that’s for sure. Since the usual air temperature during the day is +32-35 °C

What, against the backdrop of high humidity, can create known problems people with poor blood vessels. We are no longer talking about those who suffer from diseases of the cardiovascular system.

On quite often days, the air temperature in Hainan in June can rise to +36-38 degrees Celsius. In recent years, attempts to climb even higher have been recorded. Which, of course, will not cause “understanding” among the vast majority of holidaymakers.

In the mornings and evenings we don’t even talk about nights) you can count on a break. Since air temperatures drop into the range of +25-28 °C, allowing you to leave shaded and air-conditioned spaces without fear.

It is at these moments that it is worth walking and going on excursions, just walking around the city. Some people will have to seriously restructure their routine (on vacation, you still want to sleep longer), but there’s nothing you can do about it—the local climate persistently “advises” you to adapt to it.

It rains – more often heavily than not – regularly. On “paper” it’s even frighteningly common: about half of the days in June in Hainan can be inclement.

In practice, however, things are (usually) not so bad. And if you read not one, but several reviews, you will simply be amazed at how much real peace and satisfaction with the trip there is in them. Although it would seem that weather forecasters promise 200 or more millimeters of precipitation per month.

Here you go – a large and detailed review of the trip to Hainan in July – irecommend.ru/eto-bylo-kruto. In an even more potentially wet and hot month.

Typhoons

Now about what disgusts us most of all – who would want to get into such a weather mess and regularly shoot videos of palm trees bending in the wind and simply seething sea (us)?

So, typhoon season really begins in Hainan in June. And even in the middle of the month you can become a natural eyewitness to such a cataclysm (for example, this is what happened in June 2025 – russian.xinhuanet.com/20250613/1e3d2cbc89754a858ddcae5091a26165/c.html.

However, this does not happen every year. And the possible consequences (if there are any) do not frighten the modern tourist, seasoned by the latest troubles, too much.

One way or another, it is, of course, necessary to keep in mind the possibility that several days or the entire vacation could be ruined (crossed out) and complicated by the arrival of a typhoon. But there is probably no reason to dwell too much on this point.

Hainan is good for beach holidays in summer (sometimes)

Water temperature

It causes the bare minimum of complaints – the sea off the coast of Hainan in June warms up to at least +28-29 °C.

Yes, someone would call water at this temperature “unpleasant” and “not too refreshing“. But most will be happy, especially children. And they will swim or simply splash in the sea at any suitable moment.

You just have to take into account that it is best to be on the beach and perform water procedures in Hainan in the summer before 10-11 o’clock in the morning and after 16, or better yet, 17 o’clock in the evening. By doing this, you will significantly reduce the risk of heat stroke. And probably sunny too.

What else to take with you

In Hainan, exactly the same restrictions apply as in China. Therefore, you should prepare for the fact that many of your usual online services and applications will be blocked.

If you are not very dependent on the Internet, you can simply relax and enjoy your vacation, completely devoid of information background. But someone will probably take steps to maintain (unlimited) access to the World Wide Web.

Those who “don’t speak languages” (meaning Chinese or English) should install a translator on their smartphone.

Think over the issue of payment for goods and services, take with you bank cardswhich are guaranteed to work in China. Well, and a certain amount of cash: universal dollars, euros or local yuan, so as not to lose your solvency at the most inopportune moment.

On a beach holiday in China, you should definitely take clothes made from natural fabrics (light and summery, of course) and with maximum coverage area. Because this is better than sunscreen can protect your skin from burning. However, the cream won’t hurt either.

Also, be sure to take a first aid kit with you on your trip. With “first aid” products for sunburn, poisoning, fever – plus medications that are taken on an ongoing basis.

People who are cautious, that is, simply prudent, will also take out a medical insurance policy before traveling. Fortunately, it costs a little!

It is better not to appear on the beach in Hainan in the middle of the day in summer

Prices 2026

The tours look quite acceptable, although I can’t say that they are “amazingly good.” Still, this is the low season and there are pitfalls.

The flights, by the way, will not be direct, but with transfers, which means severe fatigue. Those wishing to travel on direct flights will have to pay for a tour from 240-250 thousand rubles for two (~2,500 €).

Organizing your own trip does not promise any special savingsbut – perhaps – will improve the impressions of the holiday itself. Because you can choose the hotel that best suits your needs – and there are plenty to choose from in Hainan!

If you want the most comfortable stay, stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites Sanya Yalong Bay. Where, on promotion, you can rent a room for two for a week for 450 € (with breakfast and not on offer – for 560-600 €).

The sea is about 500 meters away, and guests will have at their disposal an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness and spa center. And the free transfers from and to the airport are captivating, to say the least!

The good budget hotel Sanya Yalong Bay Jinglai Resort will allow you to save a lot of money (less than 30 € per day for a double room), although it is located not only far from the seashore, but also from any entertainment. Renting a vehicle (motor scooter), however, helps. Along the way, providing you with your own wheels for a close inspection of the island

Airfare

It’s worth starting to monitor long before the trip; in theory, you can buy tickets for air travel from Moscow to Sanya in early-mid June for 45-50 thousand rubles. Although the “usual” price for traveling back and forth on this route (there is transit, travel time one way is 16 hours) is from 60 thousand rubles per passenger.

As for excursions in Hainan, their range cannot yet be called large. The cost of entertainment is not too high – you can take part in a sightseeing walk for $25-30.

Things to do

We said it before and we will repeat it now – Hainan is more “about” relaxation and beach holidays than about trips to remarkable places. Of which, again, there are plenty of them here—one or two, and there’s no shortage of them.

So it’s best to tune in to a measured and sedate rhythm of life. Prioritize long sleep and delicious food, and regular trips to the shore. Stop fussing and (again) find inner harmony.

By the way, about nutrition! It’s worth trying traditional Chinese food on the island – in most cases it won’t be too spicy.

We especially recommend that you indulge in seafood. Well, of course, for fruits too – June is mango season. You can also simply drink up coconut milk (without cracking the nuts – buy straight from the original packaging), eat pineapples, mangosteens, lychees, jackfruits, guava and papaya.

Shopping in some large shopping center (for example, in the notorious “Pineapple”, Dadonghai International Shopping Center) will almost certainly be a good, interesting, entertainment. Well, don’t neglect the opportunity to take one or two excursions.

Some will limit their efforts to climbing to the top point of the “Deer Turned its Head” park, where wonderful panoramic views open up. Well, others will get to Monkey Island.

Which is actually not an island at all. But it really is home to several thousand macaques. Despite the heat, very active, nosy and very enterprising – take care of the children and your own things.

Very few tourists will go to the Yanoda Tropical Park in the summer heat. Equally few will reach the Buddhist center of Nanshan. Moreover, it is located 55-60 kilometers from Sanya-Dadonghai.

Here is when you really shouldn’t go to China.
