Tashkent in September 2026: weather and reviews, air temperature, how to dress? Prices for hotels, meals and excursions. What to do and what to see, what fruits to try in Tashkent in September, is it worth going at all – says Eurotraveler.

It’s somehow not appropriate for tourists to go to Uzbekistan in the summer. Still: Central Asia, it’s hot, and there’s no sea there.

Sights, and interesting ones, are present, and in abundance. But somehow, you know, there’s no time for them – obviously not everyone can enjoy exquisite majolica and explore historical places at 40 plus degrees Celsius and a cloudless sky.

Another thing is autumn!

For some, this is a time of work and educational achievements. Other citizens, those who can afford, only during this period and travel. Fairly believing that humanity has not yet come up with a better time for travel.

This is why September is a busy time in Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. Not so crowded, but clearly more numerous than in the summer.

Overall – fun. But still not so noisy that you start to get annoyed by the abundance of people around)

In general, it’s definitely worth going to Tashkent in September! And if you are just thinking about such a phrase, then you have come to the right place.

Because in this article you will find everything you need for trip planning information.

Need to know

  1. When is the best time to go to Tashkent? From late March to May, and then from mid-September to November. During these periods the city enjoys not too hot weather, good and sometimes ideal for sightseeing and outdoor excursions
  2. Is it hot in Uzbekistan in September? In the desert – yes, in large cities – not so much. The air temperature in September, whether in Tashkent, Samarkand or Bukhara, rarely rises above +32 degrees Celsius during the day. At night, however, it is much colder – this is a feature of the local (pronounced continental) climate
  3. What fruits are there in September in Tashkent? The beginning of autumn is the traditional time of harvest; during this period, the shelves of markets and shops are bursting with all kinds of grapes, melons and watermelons. Also in September, figs ripen in Uzbekistan, you can buy peaches, plums, and pears. At the end of the month, the first persimmons and pomegranates go on sale.

Weather in Tashkent in September

It seems ideal for amateur excursions, sightseeing, walks and trips. But the main thing here is not to overdo it – in the middle of the day it’s still hot.

The usual daytime air temperature in Tashkent in early September is +29-32 °C. Moreover, what is captivating is that the weather is characterized by rare stability – the next day will almost certainly be similar to the previous one, like two peas in a pod.

Minor Mosque - air temperature in Tashkent in September rises to +32 degrees

There is no reason to wait for the picture to change in the middle of the month – everything will be approximately the same. But at the end of September cold weather comes to Tashkent.

Very modest, one might even say imperceptible – air temperatures move to the range of +24-27 degrees Celsius. And according to local tradition, they continue to stay there for at least two weeks.

It is worth taking into account the pronounced peculiarity of the climate of Tashkent – at night here much colderthan during the day. It’s hard to believe until you experience it in person, but after sunset the atmosphere quickly cools down.

At the peak of the night, the air temperature can drop to +16 °C – in early September. And up to +10-12 °C at the end.

Therefore, if you are a fan of walking on velvet evenings, do not forget to take a jacket or sweater with you. At first glance, such a precaution seemed clearly unnecessary.

The duration of daylight hours in Tashkent during September consistently decreases from 13 to 12 hours. The sun rises at ten minutes to 6 am at the beginning of the month and at 15-17 minutes past seven at the end. It gets dark around 19-18 hours respectively.

Precipitation

Don’t count on them too much. For, as already said, every new day in September Tashkent is an exact copy of the previous one.

Namely: the sky without a cloud, pleasant fresh morningreal heat in the middle of the day, and pronounced coolness in the evening.

In the second half of the month there may be rain for a day or two or three. Following this, a long period of clear and dry weather sets in again.

What to take with you

Windbreakers and jackets have every chance of coming in handy – regardless of whether you go to Tashkent in the first half of September or in the second. Since such clothes will be in demand both during late walks around the city and during forays into the mountains – to the same resort of Amirsoy or to Big Chimgan.

Likewise, if you are planning country routes and ascents, you should take shoes other than sandals and sandals for your trip. For example, sneakers.

Sunglasses, hats, caps are the “gold standard” when traveling to places as rich in sunlight as Uzbekistan. It is worth actively using sunscreen, not only in the mountains, but even while walking in the city.

Hazrati Imam in Tashkent must be seen at any time of the year

Travel medical insurance is not a required document for entry into Uzbekistan. But for those who decide not to deny themselves anything on vacation, that is, active comrades, it is best to arrange it anyway.

Again, such a policy is very can help out and in case of poisoning in some street cafe. Sanitation in Tashkent in public catering establishments is still not very good.

It must be remembered that most foreign travelers arriving in Uzbekistan are required to register at their place of stay after 72 hours – uzbek-travel.com/visa/registration/. In most cases, this is done by the hotel administration – you just have to make sure that she did not forget to do this.

Russian citizens, according to an intergovernmental agreement, are required to register in Uzbekistan only on the 15th day after crossing the state border.

Money

In addition to non-cash funds on bank cards, it is worth taking a certain amount of cash with you on your trip. This way, you can pay in places where they refuse or cannot accept card payments at all (taxi, public transport, markets).

The national currency of Uzbekistan is soum, which can be purchased directly at the Tashkent airport. The rate there is not the most favorable, but usually better than what you will be offered at the hotel.

The best currencies for exchange are American dollars or euros.

Prices 2026

Can’t be called extremely tall. In particular, in September you can easily find a comfortable place to stay in Tashkent for the night, with only €60-70.

For our part, we recommend the modest, but clean, and also well located City Center Hotel. Where two people can live for the above amount. But only a little more – even three!

It costs about the same, but treats guests to free breakfast, Avant Wellness Hotel Pool&Spa. It is located far from the city center, but it has a large swimming pool and provides guests with free transfers to and from the airport.

You can get from this hotel to the city center by taxi. Which are so cheap that it’s even hard to believe – a not too short trip will cost 2-3 euros.

The price tags in Tashkent restaurants are a little less amazing. However, they are also low – for the equivalent of €20-25 you can eat to your heart’s content for two people.

Charvak reservoir near Tashkent is a must visit in September

What to do on vacation

Before you go on a further trip to Uzbekistan – and 100 percent of tourists coming to this country are not limited to its capital – we advise you to make a few walks in Tashkent.

Try its metro, whose stations are monumental, clean and beautiful, visit the Chorsu market, climb the Tashkent TV tower. Not far from it is the largest “pilaf center” in Central Asia, Besh Qozon, another “must-see” and literally very satisfying location in Tashkent.

The Hazrati Imam religious complex is definitely worth a visit, one of the few places in Tashkent that suffered relatively little damage during the devastating April 1966 earthquake. Well, on cool evenings it’s very nice to wander the alleys of the Tashkent City Park. The largest and beautifully illuminated recreational area of the Uzbek capital.

Where to go

In just 1 day from Tashkent you can go to see Samarkand. These two cities of Uzbekistan are connected by a high-speed railway line, so you will spend only 2.5 hours on the road (one way).

Yes, we agree that going to Samarkand is only a few hours… wrong. And therefore we advise you to stay there longer.

Moreover, hotels in Samarkand are no more expensive than in Tashkent. And for more than a reasonable amount you will stay a couple of minutes walk from Registan Square – Diplomat Premium.

There is no particular need to return to Tashkent after this (unless you have a return plane). Because directly from Samarkand – and also on a modern fast train (less than 2.5 hours on the road) – you can move to Bukhara.

Another amazing Asian city, a real oriental fairy tale. Where on the street – just look – you will meet Khoja Nasreddin.

For citizens who value comfort, we recommend the AL-HAYAT hotel in Bukhara. Located very close to the old town, and serving guests a rich buffet in the morning. Moreover, for a price that no one would consider high – still about €70 per day (for two).

Well, don’t forget about the wonderful opportunity during your trip to Uzbekistan visit Khiva. In May 2026, construction of a high-speed railway line was completed, connecting this city with Tashkent.

The direct trip will last about 7.5 hours. You can also travel by train to Khiva from Samarkand and Bukhara.

The schedule and ticket prices are available on the official website – eticket.railway.uz/ru/home.
