Bali in July 2026 – Is it worth going on vacation? Weather, reviews, water and air temperature, beaches without waves, is it possible to swim, prices in hotels and excursions. What to see in Bali in the middle of summer, where to go and travel with and without children – says Eurotraveler.
July is the sea. At least it is with him, worried or calm, dazzling blue or turquoise, that this month is associated in most cases.
Everything else, of course, matters too: the relaxing heat, lilac mountains framing the horizon, deliciously served breakfasts, the anticipation of a day at the beach or a trip to interesting and stunningly beautiful places. And then – pleasant fatigue, the sun setting directly into the sea, a romantic dinner by candlelight, anticipation of a new eventful – vacation – day!
Something like this picture appears in your mind when you just think about vacationing somewhere in the tropics. Which in the summer, however, do not strive to satisfy such requests from travelers: after all, it is hot, humid and stuffy there.
With very rare exceptions. And Bali in July is one of them!
For this Indonesian island is like an oasis, welcoming into its arms those who are tired of the cold or stifling heat, constant rains and all the associated sensations. Wants just relax and live for 10-15 days for your own pleasure, without worrying too much about any topic.
You will say that Bali is not very suitable for swimming, and that you have heard a lot about its ocean tides. And we will answer – everything is not so bad, you just need to carefully choose a place to relax. And, of course, try not to stay too long – Bali in July is great for a variety of activities.
Starting from climbing volcanoes and flying on air swings in the middle of the rainforest and not ending with diving. Curious (and not poor) citizens will probably want to try out a surfboard, visit the island of Lombok, or go to Komodo to admire the dangerous monitor lizards.
Weather in Bali in July
Not ideal – if you want to hear the truth or something resembling it. Rains happen and sometimes even strong – as it should be in the tropics.
But the trick is that showers do not have time to get boring due to their short duration. How to significantly affect your daily routine or – which is generally bad – ruin your vacation experience.
The air temperature in Bali in July will satisfy the most picky of tourists. Because during the day nature sets the climate control limit at +28 or +29 degrees Celsius. And at night it allows you to relax without even turning on the air conditioning – after sunset the local atmosphere cools down to an optimal +24-25 °C.

It’s great that there are no temperature dips or periods of sweltering heat at all – this machine works stably and “24/7”.
As for humidity, yes – it is a bit high, 80+% on a daily basis is worth taking into account when planning your trip
The average monthly precipitation in Bali in mid-summer is low – from 40 to 55-60 mm, depending on the location. But cloudy days are still a priority.
On the one hand, this is good – if you put on cream, put on a cap and the “right clothes”, you don’t get burned even at noon. On the other hand, not very much. And the point here is not even in the mood, but in the fact that if you gape, you can blush wonderfully here even under a cloudy sky.
It rains quite often in other years, but the duration of this weather phenomenon in July is no more than an hour. And judging by personal experience, as well as reviews (for some reason, by the way, not particularly numerous), such a weather phenomenon will not create insoluble problems.
But the winds blow during the beach season in Bali – what you need! So if you are not going to “saddle the wave” for days on end and would like to sometimes swim outside the pool, choose beaches without waves. Well, or with a minimal number of them – most of these places are located on the east coast of the island.
Usually, a minimum number of questions arise about the cleanliness and waves on Nusa Dua beach. Although families with small children may want to stay in hotels near Sanur Beach.
Water temperature
It fluctuates in the range of +25-27 °C, in principle allowing all ages to swim. Regulars of Thai beaches may be dissatisfied with such a “cool” sea, but for people who vacationed at sea mainly in Europe, water at this temperature is just what they need!
It is worth remembering the ebb and flow of the tides. And before going to the beach, study their schedule – it is usually displayed in hotels on in a prominent place.

Because during low tides some beaches are not just shallow, the ocean completely recedes. Exposing the sand and stranding starfish.
What to take with you
Despite the fact that rains during this period, although common, but pass quickly, we recommend that you come on holiday to Bali throughout July with a decent supply of water-repellent clothing.
Of course, it is better to leave the umbrellas where they are – with such an accessory in your hand it will be extremely difficult for you to take photos (and you want to take them here all the time). But waterproof shoes and a variety of raincoats and windbreakers with hoods will help you out a lot.
It is only desirable that all this be as easy as possible. And it didn’t force me to strain too much, carrying a heavy backpack on any excursion.

Prices 2026
Tickets for flights to Denpasar and back from somewhere in Europe – from Moscow or Berlin – will cost € 800+ per passenger. And you will have to spend the journey half my life from 22-24 hours in one direction only.
A good reason move there forever think about it? Maybe! But for most, the advantages of such a trip, even such a long one, are still will cover the disadvantages.
Moreover, for accommodation in a good hotel you will pay only about 50-60 € per day (for two) – we usually recommend paying attention to Kubu Dimel Suites and Villas Resort. After all, this is “an amazing place, cozy and beautiful,” breakfast costs only € 5, and the pool here is simply “cool.”
It is also important that Geger Beach, one of the best in Bali, from the designated hotel is 3 minutes by bike and 15 minutes on foot.
Fans of beach parties and get-togethers, surfing and Instagrammable sunsets are better off settling on the west coast of the island, in Kuta or Legian. One of the best here, but not particularly expensive, is The Mahata, which boasts a large swimming pool. A day’s stay in it in June will cost 70 € for two.
In general, tours around the island are very inexpensive. For an English-language tour of Bali lasting 8 hours (Ubud-rice terraces-waterfalls) they charge only 20-25 €. For a fee of 35 €, you can conquer Batur in the company of a guide, and then soak in the hot springs overlooking the volcano.

Renting a bike on the island will cost at least $5.5-6 in 2026. And, if you don’t want any trouble, make sure you’re mentally stable before doing this. After all, driving in Bali is not nearly as careful (to put it mildly) as in Europe or Canada-USA.
What to see
It is the climbs to the volcanoes – both the relatively easily accessible Batur and the much more treacherous Agung – that are considered the main tourist attractions in Bali. The list of “must-see” places also includes Tanah Lot and Lempuyang temples.
As for the famous Pura-Besakih, visiting it has recently turned into a dubious event. Because the desire to make money from tourists around him has turned into a natural obsession among local residents.
You definitely need to visit the city of Ubud in Bali and chat with the inhabitants of the “Monkey Forest”. See the local rice terraces and at least a couple of waterfalls.
Many tourists go to Nusa Penida for the day. And then they post wonderfully vivid photos of literally pristine natural landscapes on the Internet.
Not far from the designated archipelago, you can go underwater and at one of the “manta points”, admire the huge, but safe for humans, giant stingrays (manta rays do not have a poisonous spine on their tail).
You can get away from civilization on the wonderfully beautiful and quiet island of Gili Meno. And, conversely, have fun at beach parties on Gili Trawangan.
Active people who are not indifferent to beauty should think about visiting Mount Bromo in Java. A trip to the Indonesian island of Komodo will also reward you with extremely original and vivid impressions.
