Many still associate the territory of the former Yugoslavia with military operations. But in Bosnia and Herzegovina no more dangerous than in any state of Western Europe. And certainly no less beautiful!

How to get to Bosnia and Herzegovina

There are three large airports in the country-in Sarajevo, Ban-Luke and Tuzl, but it will not be possible to get directly from Russia from Russia. You can fly with a transplant in Istanbul, Budapest or other European cities. The cost of a ticket with transfers from Moscow to Sarajevo and vice versa starts from 25,000 rubles* per person.

The bus message is well developed here, but it is most convenient to travel around Bosnia by car: renting a car to Sarajevo on OneTwotrip will cost 3000 rubles* per day. By the way, you can also visit the country by reaching a car from Croatia or Montenegro – an excellent addition to vacation in these countries.

Tourists from Russia do not need a visa to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina. You can enter the country by passport and stay for up to 30 days. But in order to study in detail local attractions, there are enough three or four days. On the border, only the PCR test, passed no earlier than 48 hours before the entry. Therefore, if you fly to Croatia or Montenegro with the Russian PCR test, visit Bosnia and Herzegovin in the early days.

What to see in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the southwest of the country, not far from the borders with Croatia and Montenegro, several main tourist points are concentrated.

Mostar

In 1990, fierce and destructive interethnic battles were on the streets of this small city. Today, nothing reminds of those terrible events: the bridge is well -groomed and brought into a good appearance. True, those who have at least once traveled to the Balkans understand that in this region their concept of wellness. In my opinion, the bridge is one of the most colorful cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The central point of attraction of tourists – Old bridge Through the Neretvaya fleet river. He, part -time, is the main attraction, a business card of not only the region, but the whole country. The best view of it opens from the neighboring Lutsk bridgewhich is located slightly downstream, or from the rocky shore of Neretva.

City Center – And this is all the space, which directly adjoins the bridge, – usually filled with tourists to the edges. Someone comes to the eastern bazaar, someone-to sit in restaurants and taste the local Mostarsko beer or drink coffee according to Bosnian traditions. Narrow prayer streets, souvenir shops, bridges, mosques, Catholic churches – this is all a bridge. Suddenly it was to find a monument to Bruce Li, that is in Park of Zrenevans. Two main mosques of Mostar – Karagez-Bekalocated near the old bridge, and Koski Mehmed Pasha With a slender minaret against the background of the mountains. It is this building that is the background of the old bridge on postcards.

Kravitsa waterfalls

On an hour drive from the bridge, on the river, a natural park with a cascade of picturesque waterfalls is located on the river. Abundant, even in the season of drought, streams of water, breaking off from a height of 15-28 meters, form a half-ring with a diameter of about 150 meters-it is not for nothing that these waterfalls are called a fan over the cliff. At the foot of the cascades flows into a transparent lake, on the banks of which local and tourists like to relax. There are equipped places to receive sunbathing, a few coffee houses with very noisy and Balkanly cheerful staff, and small boats and kayakov work. Despite the fact that water rarely warms up above 18 ℃, here everyone willingly bathe.

The entrance to the territory of the waterfalls of the Kravitsa is paid – about 10 convertible brands* (Bosnian currency). The park is open all year round, but the exact schedule is better to specify on the site.

Good

A little more than half an hour will take a move from waterfalls to Kravitsa to Good. This is a pacified place where hundreds of birds sniffed at the steep cliff over turquoise water, even before the Ottoman Empire became the refuge of dervishes-Muslim hermit monks. Text has existed here since the beginning of the 16th century. The guest house and the mausoleum, which whiten on the cliff, were built in the middle of the 17th century and have survived to this day almost in its original form. Today, there is a kind of museum inside the complex, a souvenir shop and a coffee shop with bizarre tables. All tourists can go in, not only Muslims, but should be left shoes in front of the entrance.

The water cave at the foot of text is nothing but Karst springone of the most powerful sources of fresh water throughout Europe. The length of the Buna River, which this source forms, on the surface of the Earth is only 9 km, after which it flows into Neretv. There are many species coffee houses along its shores, where you can drink Turkish coffee with rakhat-lumber or even try river trout on grill, enjoying the variety of the surrounding landscape.

These three locations are the main ones for those who came to Bosnia and Herzegovin for several days. If you have the opportunity to linger, certainly visit three more Bosnian cities.

Trebin

Trebinya – the city of the sun and wine – is located only a couple tens of kilometers from the Croatian Dubrovnik and the borders with Montenegro in the picturesque valley between the hills covered with slender platans. In ancient times, he was part of the Roman Empire, and later was part of the kingdom of Serbia, the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary and Yugoslavia. Such a rich historical diversity of cultures led to a unique flavor of this place.

River Trebishitsa divides the city into two parts, and Arslanagich bridge Originally from the 16th century – connects. The old city of the times of Turkish rule has been preserved in Trebin. Be sure to visit the local grocery market and the kinematographic cafe “Under the Platans”. The scenes for European and American films are regularly shot here. Locals love to tell stories about filming and discuss in which films they “lit up”. In general, the whole city looks like a decoration for a good movie. Walking here is a special pleasure for those who are tired of the crowding and bustle of megacities.

Vishegrad

Vishegrad is a small and world -famous ancient city. He occupies a modest 450 square meter. km among the forested mountains in the interfluve of Drina and Rzava. Three people glorified this place. The first is the falcon Damat Mehmed Pasha, who ordered to build a monumental, 11-high stone bridge in Vishegrad. The second is Ivo Andrich, the Yugoslav writer, whose novel “Bridge on Drina” was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. The third is Emir Kusturitsa, who built the full literary, historical and cinematic mysteries the city of Andrichgrad as a decoration for its film based on Andrich’s book.

If you get into the city in the tourist season, ride a boat on Drin and evaluate the bridge from the water, which, by the way, is the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Egg

A city with the culinary name of the egg is actually considered royal. The last monarch of the Kingdom of Bosnia was crowned here. Then his residence was located, here he was and killed. If you are not interested in the history of the country, you will accurately evaluate this small city for a spectacular 25-meter waterfall, which is formed right at the confluence of the two rivers-Pliva and Vrbas.

Of course, the egg has everything that must be in the ancient city: a well -preserved fortress wall, narrow streets, catacombs, stone arches, destroyed cathedrals, time towers … But the main attraction is still a waterfall. Little in the world in the world rivers merge together and with a powerful stream break down right in the city center. It looks unusual and impressive. Bosnian kings knew where to arrange their residences! However, all of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a miracle as beautiful and causes a desire to return and get to know each other better.
