One of the finds for them is an absolutely desolate beach with black sand, on which the remnants of the corps of a military aircraft rest. We figured out how he got there, why he stayed there, and most importantly, how to find this place.

So, the US Navy cargo aircraft, the Douglas Super DC-3 model, half a century ago symbolized the power of engineering thought. On November 24, 1973, this aircraft crashed, the causes of which remained a secret. It is believed that he simply spent all the fuel and could no longer return to the aircraft carrier, so he made an emergency landing on the beach near the city of Vic in Iceland. However, with the date, too, not everything is so unambiguous: according to some reports, reports about the fallen plane appeared in the Icelandic press on November 22. Fortunately, the crew remained alive, but there was no way to fix the plane, so the engines and other surviving parts were simply taken from it, and the corps was left. It is worth noting that the fuselage has been made really high quality, for 45 years it has been opposed by the onslaught of storm winds and ice showers, which have opened a deserted beach.

The plane has no tail and wings, which also in some way represents a riddle. According to one version, one of the local farmers was able to take them away and probably pass them on scrap metal. But thanks to the formed holes, the inside of the aircraft is well lit, you can climb inside and take a walk through the lifeless body of the once great miracle of technology.
The plane is not in sight, it is hidden by sand dunes, but it is easy to find it according to the navigator. Coordinates in Google maps: 63.459523 -19.364618, from the nearest road you need to walk for about 40 minutes. Do not be afraid of bad weather, against the backdrop of gloomy clouds, the plane looks even more impressive!
