It’s paradoxical, but true – with the arrival of autumn, resort life in Antalya, the main Turkish resort, not only does not freeze, but receives a new impetus.
The contingent of vacationers is changing, it’s true: children go to school, and their parents go to work. But overall there are not much fewer tourists. And prices are in no hurry to go down just because oh, it’s already autumn on the calendar!
And there is a simple explanation for this. Even a few!
- Firstly, the weather in Antalya becomes a little softer in comparison with its summer version, which is quite unbearable due to the heat and high humidity
- Secondly, the Mediterranean Sea is in no hurry to cool down in autumn
- And thirdly, there are no fewer interesting places in Antalya. And all entertainment centers and even water parks continue to operate as if nothing had happened.

Air tickets to Antalya in September and back from many European capitals cost no more than 250-300 € per person. This is with luggage, only with hand luggage it will be half the price.
As for hotels, you need to choose them carefully. And it’s still too early to stop in the center of the old city.
It is much wiser to find a hotel near the beach. But at the same time, at such a distance from the city center that you can easily travel to Antalya on excursions and shopping.

As for excursions, an introductory walk around the city plus a boat cruise will cost 25-30 € per person. A long tour with a visit to the ruins in Perga and Side, stopping at Aspendos will cost from 50-55 €.

Things to do
You won’t be bored – that’s for sure! Whether you come with your children or go on vacation alone with your lover (spouse).
In the first case, you will spend the lion’s part of the time (outside the beach) on the Aqualand Antalya Dolphinland slides. Judging by the reviews, it is not the best similar establishment in Turkey. But not too expensive and, in addition, combined with a dolphinarium.
They praise it very much city aquarium. Excellently designed and guaranteeing a lot of positive impressions.
If this is not enough for you, we recommend visit in the entertainment Aktur Park, whose attractions are always popular with children. Some people will also want to visit the Antalya Zoo. Moreover, in September its inhabitants begin to behave noticeably more active than in summer.
We advise adult tourists to wander the streets of Kaleici. Take a ride on the Kaleici Panoramic Elevator and admire the view of the small but neat city port. See Hadrian’s Gate and enjoy the panoramas from the observation deck of the Khidirlyk Tower.
The city has an excellent Archaeological Museum. And connoisseurs of natural views should take a ride to the cascading Duden waterfalls located near the resort.
Where to go
There are plenty of places of tourist interest near Antalya, and even far from it!
Let us first mention the ancient city of Termessos. At one time he did not surrender to Alexander the Great. But it faded about a thousand years later, apparently due to an earthquake.
It’s remarkable that the shovels of archaeologists have not yet reached it. And you can feel discovererif you dare to climb the mountain and thus get to Termessos.
Just – this is important – plan your trip so that you have to climb up not at noon. After all, in September it is still very hot in these parts.
If you’re afraid of getting lost, book a private tour. It seems to be not too cheap, but it leaves a memorable “aftertaste”.
We recommend you go up to the top of Takhtali — just don’t forget to take warm clothes with you. And feel the state of nirvana in the bay, where the ruins of another ancient city, Phaselis, are hidden.
By the way, you can go here not only by land – yacht cruises regularly depart from the port of Antalya to Phaselis. And sailing in good weather – you will agree – is a special pleasure.
Even at the beginning of autumn, bus excursions to Demre, to the Church of St. Nicholas, are extremely popular. To the ruins of Lycian Myra located in the vicinity of the town. And to the island of Kekova, near which the ruins of an ancient flooded city are visible in the water.
