The largest city in Russia over the polar circle. And it was there that the blogger Vera Tsimbal went for new impressions as part of the Kudablin project
In the early February morning we hit the road. The flight to Murmansk with Aeroflot took 2 hours 40 minutes*.
The severity of the climate of the Northern Territory interspersed with the warmth of the soul of local residents, seasoned with the beauty of landscapes and incredible gastronomic diversity. But about everything in order.

Subscriber task
They chose from three options:
- Arrange a photo hunt for the northern lights
- Try a bear meat (or venison dishes), clogging juggles and lamb chips
- Go to the village of Teriberk
And they chose the northern lights. But it so happened that we were able to complete all three tasks!
Started with the most delicious

To try local delicacies, I had to show ingenuity. Of course, I dreamed of going to the ocean, catching a sea hedgehog and eating right on the shore. And according to the same scheme, try a bear meat. But at the family council, it was decided to go to the restaurant of northern cuisine.
By the way, there were no free tables there for many days in advance, and the mission was at risk of breaking. It took a little luck and perseverance – and for us they organized a table. It doesn’t matter that it was a staff table. The main thing that the menu was brought to us, and the real gastronomic festival began. We tried everything that was: Stroganin from venison, dumplings from a bear cub (and also a hell with a teddy bear with venison), an Arctic ear with seafood, scallops and red fish with pike caviar, as well as a baked halve. It was not just fine. It was amazing! Just a delight! If someday the spirit of adventure brings you to the north, be sure to try the local cuisine.
By the way, to enjoy local delicacies, you can look at the local fish stores. There are many interesting things. By the way, hedgehogs are at the sea station. Only TSSS! This is secret information.
Northern lights

As you know, they hunt him at night. If you trust experienced guides, you will have much more chances to see it. Yes, yes. There are specially trained people who know where to look for radiance. But we are winners in life. They could not agree with them – there were no places. Therefore, we decided to hunt on the radiance on their own with the help of a special map for monitor activity tracking.

In the evening, the application was updated every five minutes. At first, the radiance on the map began to decrease. And then he moved towards the peninsula, like a cloud. I was nervous. The closer it was to us, the stronger.
Finally, the application showed that the “cloud” touched Murmansk. We called a taxi and went … The main thing is to drive as far as possible from the lights of the city. There are darknesses, even if the eye is. Not a hint of an emerald. We are going. The taxi driver says that the radiance is a rarity and comes across only a couple of times during the winter.
The sky is still black. We arrived at the observation deck. Further uphill and only on foot. The snow is knee -deep. Freezing. Not a soul. Night. Darkness. We go out, go uphill. Wind. Breathing is cold, your legs are already tired. But I am going to run. As if I’m afraid to be late.
Running in the hill in the tundra in the snow at -30 is very extreme. The heart is knocking. We rise to the very top …
And then I understand that here it is: a thin strip of green haze went in the sky. This is a radiance! I shout to my husband: “Look!”
We freeze, a light haze turns into a whole stream. Another minute and the sky burns green. I just don’t believe my eyes! We did it! We … this … did … ourselves! Without guides. We are just handsome! We are lucky! We are unrealistically cool!
Know! Shine can be found independently. We need only a drop of luck and good preparation.
We had Teriberka for dessert

The end of the earth. If you want to be imbued with the harsh atmosphere of the north, you are there.
The day turned out to be sunny and very frosty: -27, it feels like -39. And in the wind of 13 m/s, you freeze in front of your eyes.
“Put on everything you have,” the guide commanded in all seriousness. We packed from head to toe and rushed on snowmobiles and sleigh to the mighty Arctic Ocean. He does not caress his legs tanned tourists. Breathtaking when you are nearby.

The shore is strewn with stones that resemble eggs of dinosaurs. Just a fantastic place. A tour of the sleigh in the frozen attractions in the strongest wind and the bright sun is the whole range of emotions.

I would like not to break away, and at the same time you dream of climbing as soon as possible where it will finally become warm. If you want to see incredible landscapes and survive real winter adventures with overcoming, you in Teriberka.
And so our weekend flew in Murmansk.

Tired and happy returned home. The reboot occurred. I am very grateful to the Onetwotrip project and is happy that we flew to the north. Be sure to travel. And let your trips be as cool and emotionally saturated as ours.
