In the Kudablin project, we send completely different people on traveling at our expense! Anastasia Lesina went to Cologne: learned about the most interesting museums of the city, compiled a playlist for lunch in the park and showed us a route for an interesting acquaintance with the city. Read more – in her report!

“Das ist fantastisch” – three words with which I can describe my adventure in Cologne. Despite the fact that I had a temperature, I steadfastly withstood these unforgettable 2 days!

I have never used public transport in these two days (except for the train from the airport to the city and back), I walked over 26 km, practice my German (and a little English) and went up to one of the highest cathedrals in the world in 533 steps (the Cologne Cathedral takes 3rd place in the list of the highest churches in the world).

We flew to Cologne at about 14:00 local time (the difference with Moscow is 1 hour). To get to the center of Cologne from the airport, you need to go down to the lowest floor, buy a ticket in the apparatus to the Köln HBF station, promote and go down to the trains. The ticket cost is 2.90 €. Travel time is only 15 minutes.

At the exit from the station, you will immediately see the Cologne Cathedral. Be sure to go inside, it is very beautiful there. This is free. Go to the right from the main entrance, go downstairs and go to the observation deck.

Two museums are located next to the Köln Cathedral: Ludwig Museum (put on the inspection for about 3 hours)-the entrance ticket is 12 €, an audio guide 3 €, and the Roman-German museum-6.5 €.

After you look at the city from a bird’s height, rest a little in the Rayn park. Here, sitting on the grass, it is great to eat ice cream and fruits. Listen to music. My German selection:

  • Reamonn “Supergirl”;
  • Die Prinzen “Hier Sind Wir”;
  • Lea “Zu Dir”;
  • Namika “Je Ne Parle Pas Français (Beatgees Remix)”;
  • Vanessa mai feat. Olexesh “Wir 2 Immer 1”.

You can have lunch right away here. There are many cafes along the Rhine. Be sure to try a pork leg with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.

Then go further along the Rhine. To the right of you will be the fish market, the great church of St. Martin, the Church of the Virgin Mary.

You came to the Museum of Chocolate (it will be left of you). Entrance ticket 11.5 €. Also at the museum there is a store where you will find a bunch of interesting things from chocolate (hammer, doll, books, etc.). Return along the Rhine back and go up left. Get to the town hall and take a walk around the territory. This is one of the options for the walk that you can use.
