In the Kudablin project, we send completely different people on traveling at our expense! Maxim Markelov visited Lake Baikal, where he got by train, tried to find a volcano and tasted the water from the deepest lake on the ground. Read more – in his report!
Four nights on a train without a shower, a normal Internet seemed endless to me. My compartment was almost always empty, and the neighboring car was completely scored by foreigners with whom we tasted strong drinks and talked about a bear who lives at my house 🙂 I found a fellowist – a girl from Canada, who kept the way to Olkhon (the largest island of Lake Baikal) and allowed her to make a company.
There is one big plus on the train trip – the views from the window are amazing.
In order to get to the island of Olkhon from Irkutsk, we had to drive another 6 hours in Bukhanka and transfer to the ferry.
When we drove on the ferry and saw the sunset, I realized that this will be one of the most amazing travels in my life.
The village of Khuzhir is the largest settlement of Olkhon Island. We decided to stop here. Already after midnight, we got to the place and settled in the Teremok, which for money was worth a good three -star hotel.
I woke up early, rented a bicycle and drove to a shaman-stone.
On the way, I was speechless when I saw how transparent and beautiful water in Baikal!
He planned to go around the whole island, but having talked with local guides, he found out that in a day I would have enough only one 7-hour off-road tour for the same Bukhanka. He heeded the advice, bought a ticket for 1,000 rubles and hit the road.
During the excursion, our driver worked as a cook: for lunch there was a ear that he cooked for us.

My travels never pass without adventure. At 7 in the morning he woke up from the screams of people, looked out the window – a neighboring building is on. The next hour we fought with fire.
On the third day on Olkhon, we went on an equestrian walk along the coast. You will be there – don’t even think, go!
Only on the third day of my stay in Lake Baikal, I remembered that I had not completed the task of climbing the volcano, but there was no time for this, and I had to improvise so as not to fall into the mud. In the village of Listvyanka there is a rich tour of the lake with a visit to the Baikal Railway.

Here I came off in full, in front of the eyes of foreigners wrapped in jackets first scooped up a glass of water, drained and went to undress.

Yes, I jumped 🙂 I have not experienced such a cold yet, the feeling of a thousand needles pierce the whole body.
At the end of this journey, he carried out a sunset on the mountain and reflected on how much Russia is a beautiful country. Now I will try to discover new places every year!
