Alushta in May 2025 – Is it worth going on vacation? Weather and reviews, air and water temperature, how to dress, is it possible to swim in hotels and excursions. What to see in Alushta in early May and the end of spring, than to do and where to go to Crimea – in a detailed Eurotravel report.
Despite the successful location and clearly wonderful, healthy, climate, the abundance of really interesting places, Alushta in Crimea is still not considered a famous and popular resort. After all, you must admit, when it comes to where to relax in the Crimea, such names as Yalta, Sevastopol, Yevpatoria begin to flicker in the mind.
Alushta? Yes, many simply do not know what it is! And if they heard, then in some negative way: everything seems to be unsettled there, dirty, and in addition it is expensive.
Is it really so? And, most importantly, – in the context of this article, of course – can Alushta be considered in May, on holidays and later, as a good place for (short) vacation at sea? And will it not be more correct to visit her later, in any of the summer months, for example?
We decided to puzzle and thoroughly studied this issue! And here’s what happened:
Weather in Alushta in May
In a purely temperature sense, it is unlikely to surprise a resident and middle strip of Russia. But in conjunction with a picturesque location, aromatic air and sparkling sea, makes an indelible impression. However, judge for yourself!
The air temperature in Alushta in early May is able to get to +17-21 degrees Celsius. To the start of summer, you have the right to rely on +22-26 ° C. If not higher-on some days, the Crimean weather service with pomp reports O +28-30 ° C!
Yes, such local weather does not happen every year-sometimes until mid-May, daily air temperatures with noticeable voltage reach +15-16 ° C. At night, on the (southern!) Resort can be established at all natural, not at all May, cold in the form +10-12 ° C.
In the second half of May, the weather in Alushta, however, still changes anger for mercy. And to +20 ° C, the air warms up on a stable basis.
Precipitation is not particularly abundant-no more than 50-60 mm. The total number of predominantly rainy days does not exceed 4-5 per month!
And in general, they are not perceived in a dreary vein – they say, here again the day is spoiled. On the contrary, after the rain in the May Alushta, incredible freshness and even some powerful energy is felt.
Therefore, whether it is worth paying attention to the unnecessary probability of precipitation. Especially when you take into account that the rest of the time on vacation, the weather will rather pamper the sun than clouds!
Moreover, on a rainy day you can always go from Alushta to Yalta. And if you come on vacation by car, then at all to visit other interesting places in Crimea, where at that moment it does not pour.
Gusts of wind in the May Alushta cannot be called strong. But, due to the not too high air temperature, and they become the object of dissatisfied attacks in reviews.
Which, in principle, is explainable. Who wants his real estate to begin to freeze in the arms of a beach chair?
Water temperature
We would not recommend swimming in Alushta in May! In any case, in the open sea and up to the onset of the last decade of the month.
After all, the coastal water area for May holidays, although sparkling with friendly turquoise, but at a personal meeting, burns – the water temperature never exceeds +15 ° C. And even by the end of the month, you should not wait for the warming of the sea above +18-19 ° C.
Yes, we agree, this does not stop many. But our business is small – they warned and went to study further.

How to dress
The presence of really warm, and not frivolously summer clothes in your suitcase may be invaluable for help. Especially if you like long walks, gatherings on the seashore and do not mind making a walking on ay-Petri or some other plateau (Demerji, Chatyrdag?).
It can be equal to the firmness of the spirit for a dressed in a regular sweatshirt alone can be a sea walk on a boat or a ship.
In the general case, you should take with you an insulated windbreaker, some knitted cardigan. Well, shoes that are not looking like open sandals and at the same time holding the foot.
Sneakers or mokasin will be enough if you plan to visit the mainly well -known palaces of Crimea. And the like, not implying special physical activity.
Well, it is better to equip the Northern Demerji to see the Valley of Ghosts to see the Valley of Ghosts more thoroughly. To put on naturally mountain boots, take a first -aid kit, compass, a certain amount of food and water with you – a list of things for a trip for 2 days.
Prices 2025
They are at accessible to many potential vacationing levels. That no one, of course, is not surprising. After all, not everyone will want to go to the Crimea today – in May it will be or in the summer.
So to remove apartments in Alushta, and not far from the sea (possibly even with a view of it), it will turn out for quite reasonable 4-5 thousand rubles. And not for two, but for 3-4 people.
A spacious apartment with modern repairs can cost 7-8 thousand per day. But up to 5-6 people will be able to settle in it.
Hotels and guest houses? For the reason unknown to us, they insist on the amount of 3.5-4 thousand per day-even if they are locked at a noticeable distance from the coastal line. And yes, for this money in a room of 15 m2, only a couple of people can stop!
How much money will have to be given to get from the Simferopol station to Alushta? It all depends on which transport to go to. If on a trolleybus (with an excellent panoramic review, by the way), then the trip will ruin 30-35 rubles per person. Well, the taxi drivers, probably, will not want to hear about the amounts of smaller 2,000 rubles.
For about the same money (but a day!) You can rent a car. Which will obviously increase your chances for a short time to see all the main attractions of Crimea.
As for excursions, then group bus and peshetes costs from 1,200-1,500 rubles per person. They will take you to inspect Sevastopol or ride along the southern shore.
Individual tours are more expensive: on average from 7.5-10 thousand rubles for all. But still, not so much as to deny yourself a pleasure in a calm atmosphere to get acquainted with the peninsula.
What to do
There is no reason for a long time in Alushta in one place in May. That is, on the contrary, there are a lot of arguments in favor of an extremely active manner of behavior.
After all, the weather contributes to trips and trips next to Alushta: it is not hot and not cold. And the number of tourists is not so large that they begin to “get down underfoot.”
We especially recommend that you leave the city more often. To explore the already mentioned Demerji, go on a campaign on another amazing plateau, Chatyrdag. Go down to his huge caves: red, marble, Emine-Bair-Hosar, enjoy panoramas on top.
Naturally, you need to see Yalta – it is located only in half an hour. And it has so many attractions that for the first time the eyes can naturally scatter.
Ai-Petri and Lastochkino Nest, the Vorontsov Palace and his royal colleague in Livadia, the Zoo “Fairy Tale” and the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, especially fragrant in May, will take more than one day for examination.
Where else to go
The temple of the resurrection of Christ in Foros, the curious city of Balaklava and Cape Fiolent with a jasper beach can be visited during a one -day trip towards Sevastopol. Unless, of course, you will be “on wheels”.
We also advise you to allocate time for an inspection of the Khan Palace in Bakhchisarai. At least a brief visit to the Assumption Monastery and the Cave City of the Chufut-Kale on top of one of the canteens there.
Eski- and Tepe-Kermen, Kachi Calion and Mangup-Kale-the essence of the individual chapters of the same interesting story. Habitually disappearing from the “radars” of most travelers who no longer know what to focus on.
Should I go to Sudak and inspect the Genoese fortress there? And then wrap in the New World to see the most beautiful bays and take a walk along the famous winery of Prince Golitsyn, the same as a seaside path?
We unequivocally vote for “for.” If only because these places at the end of spring are literally painted in color. And they look brighter than at any other time of the year!
