More than a hundred rusting railway wagons can be seen in the suburbs of the capital at an abandoned Red Star station Istvántelek. In 1920, the repair shop was equipped here, over time it was abandoned, and leaving the wagons to live their age. Some of them belong to the era of communism, and in others they transported prisoners to Auschwitz during the Holocaust.

For example, under the Budai fortress is the Museum “Hospital in the Rock”. During the Second World War here there was a secret hospital, during the Cold War – a refuge from nuclear attacks, and in 2008 the place was turned into a museum. For 3,000 forints* you will be offered to walk through raw rooms where you can study the monuments of the time of the Turkish recruitment, statues of Hungarian kings, wall drawings and wax figures, recreating scenes from the “ghost of the opera”. In one of the creepy rooms, they say, Vlad Tepes was sharpened and subjected to torture for 14 years – the prototype of Count Dracula. Allegedly stands his coffin here.
