Fethih is one of the resort cities on the southern coast of Turkey, which is seemed to be created for a leisurely summer vacation. Tourists love him for the golden sandy beaches, a clear sea with bright turquoise water and an abundance of greenery. In the inner areas, fluids are lush valleys and beautiful plains, and a pine forest and rocks surround the coastline. And here there are historical monuments, ruins of ancient cities and rock tombs, natural reserves, famous restaurants and boutiques of popular brands.

Despite the status of one of the most popular resorts in Turkey, Fethiye still remains a sleepy port town in the soul. Even in the season, there is a leisurely and measured rhythm of life, which sometimes we need to slow down and relax.

Entrance rules

Russians for entry into Turkey will only need a passport. Without a residence permit in the country you can be up to 60 days for six months. The local currency is the Turkish lyre, 1 try is approximately four rubles.

How to get

The closest to the fluid airport is located in Dalaman, where there are direct flights from Moscow. The cheapest tickets are offered by PEGASUS AIRLINES-for a 4.5-hour flight, pay from 17,000 rubles*. It is more expensive and an hour longer to get an aeroflot – a one -way ticket costs from 26,000 rubles*. From Dalaman to Fethiye can be reached by taxi or bus. A taxi costs from 150 TYR (about 600 rubles*) – depends on how to agree with the driver, and the bus ticket – 30 try (120 rubles*). The trip will take about 40 minutes.

Where to stop

What to see

Old town

This is a small trading area near the main harbor with winding streets and many stores. It is very small, but here you still want to stay and wander along the famous Umbrella Street – number 95 Street with boutiques of popular brands.

Fethih is a port city that is famous for its shopping rows. Here they sell spices, local products, carpets and Turkish textiles, and in the fish market you can choose a fish that will be prepared in a local restaurant with you.

The harbor around the flip is what this small port city lives. Here you can rent a boat, make an appointment for a boat or excursion and just take a walk through the docks, watch the fishermen and impress the sizes of the yachts that are moored here.

Canyon Saklikent Gorge

This is one of the deepest canyons in the world. Two routes have been laid for tourists: the first four km of the paths are fully equipped and will be comfortable for travelers with any level of training, and the remaining 14 km will only be suitable for professionals with their climbing equipment. The first route ends in front of the waterfall, and the second begins in the same place – it is necessary to move through the water stream, so it will not work to get to a difficult level by chance.

Here you will be awaiting real adventures: you will have to climb the rocks (with equipment that will be given out at the entrance, it is safe) or walking along the river to the ankle -deep depth. Depending on the time of the year, the flow can be different, therefore, for convenience, a rope is stretched over the river. In the rainy season (especially in the most moist months, January and December) it is dangerous to visit the canyon: the water level can rise, and then the route will be closed.

In the gorge along the path there are several natural mud ponds where you can make a free face mask or even take a mud bath.

Near the park are a cafe, a toilet and a tourist center where rubber boots are leased. The entrance costs about 20 TYR (about 80 rubles*) per person.

Lycian tombs in the tlay

They are carved in 350 BC high on the rocks above the fluids, but they can be seen directly from the city and its environs. It is not difficult to get to the tombs: opposite the entrance to the restaurant The Kings Garden is the entrance to the path. If you rise up to 200 degrees, you can visit the holy places and enjoy a panoramic view of the fluid. The entrance ticket costs 5 TYR (about 200 rubles*).

Ancient ruins

Kayakyo

Fethih has a very rich story, so historical monuments here are found at every step. For example, the Kayaköy ruins are located 8 km east of the resort and are not similar to others-this is a real ghost city. The entire population left it for more than 100 years. For so many years, Kayakyo almost did not lose his ancient appearance: here you can wander through the streets and find out about the life of local residents, as well as look at the abandoned church.

Xanf

These ruins of the old city, which stands on a hill near the Xanthos River, are also well preserved. Here you can find paved 1,000 years ago, but still even main road, mosaic elements, ancient water supply, Roman baths, shops, tombs and a huge amphitheater. Xanf is one of the few cities where bas -reliefs and inscriptions in Lycian survived. And on the territory of ancient ruins, you can find large land turtles.

The cost of the input ticket is 25 TYR (about 100 rubles*). It is already more difficult to get to these ruins – they are about 60 km from Fethiya.

TLOS

30 km from the ancient city of Xanf are rocky tombs Tlos (TLOS). This is an unusual complex of ruins, in which the acropolis, the Ottoman fortress, the stable, the necropolis, the stadium, the huge amphitheater, the basilica, the temple of the Christian era, many school complexes and Agora are well preserved. All this is carved in the rocks or stands on the mountain, from where an excellent panorama opens on the coast of Turkey.

Mount Babadag: paraplanerism from a height of 1,960 m

If you love the wind and are ready for adventures, the flight on the paraglider should be in your Fethiye entertainment list. The blue lagoon is considered one of the best places for paraplanerism around the world. For paralagayding, special preparation is not needed, before starting you will be a short introductory flight. And then you will climb to the top of the Babadag Mountain and spend about 30 minutes in the air. During this time, fly over the beach of Olyudeniz (ölüdeniz), a blue lagoon and you can examine the flip.

Beach vacation

Beach Olyudeniz

This is one of the most famous beaches. It is 10 km south of the city, you can get by public transport. The pebble beach is famous for crystal clear water, which looks spectacular against the background of the Green Mountains. The extraordinary landscape of the beach combines green hills covered with forests, gold sand and turquoise water surface. And through Olyudeniz there is a Lycian trail, along which there are many quiet bays and secret beaches.

Kabak beach

A truly untouched paradise without developed tourist infrastructure. However, the Kabak beach cannot be called wild: there is a small cafe, a restroom and shower, but there are no sunbeds, umbrellas and equipped descent from the city. But thanks to this, it is always unlikely and quiet here. If you get here by car, it is better to leave it near the beach and walk: the road is soil, rocky and uneven, and there is no parking near the beach.

This is a very picturesque place surrounded by cliffs covered with fluffy pines. If you look at it from the sea, then the feeling is created that the mountains seem to hang over you. Nearby there are camping, cafes and small shops where you can buy food and drinks. The beach itself and the bottom itself are perturbated, so it is better to take special shoes.

Akvaryum Bay Bay

On the one hand, it is surrounded by a high mountain slope, on the other – hills seated with pine trees. The water here is crystal clean and transparent – this is an ideal place for snorkeling. The bay received its name due to the variety of fish living here. The water temperature here is slightly lower than on other beaches, and there is a current, so you need to be more accurate. You will not have to get bored on the shore: in addition to the pine forest, wild oils and poppies grow here. It is especially beautiful to come here in early summer, in the flowering season.

Lagoon Valley of butterflies

This is a picturesque valley with a beach, a restaurant bar and places to relax, where you can swim by boat. The lagoon is hidden at the foot of the rocks, it will not work to get “from above” here, but from the harbor there are fluid and Oludeniza “boat taxi” walks. But near the road there is an observation deck, from where an amazing view of the coast opens. The name is given to the lagoon for a reason: more than a hundred species of butterflies really live here, which can be observed in any season.

Woodpark ORAKA World Thema Park

There are two children’s towns in the water park, eight “large” slides, a pool with an artificial wave, a lazy river, a zone with sun loungers and bar complexes. And soon another part with a large number of water rides will open.

The entrance ticket costs 380 TYR for an adult and 300 TYR – for a child (about 1,500 and 1,200 rubles*, respectively). All things at the entrance need to be removed at the locker: it will not be possible to take even food and water with you. On the territory of the park you can pay only a special card, which is replenished at the entrance. But be careful: if you replenish the account with a card and do not spend the entire amount, then the rest will “burn”. It can be returned only on condition that you replenished the card in cash.

Hemile island

The island of Gemiler or the island of St. Nicholas is located off the coast of Turkey. There are several incredible beauty of bays and ancient ruins of historical churches and religious buildings. It is believed that on this island there is the grave of St. Nicholas, who is considered the very first Santa Claus. Boats go to the island – you can take a tour at any bureau or directly in the harbor. There are several cafes with national cuisine dishes on the island.

For a beach holiday, it is also worth noting the Gemile Bay, where tourist yachts usually moor. Crystroly clean water is created for snorkeling and examining the ancient ruins, which are now hidden under water.
