Kislovodsk in July and August – Should I go on vacation? Weather and reviews, air temperature, probability of precipitation, how to dress, prices 2026 in hotels and resorts. What to do and see in Kislovodsk in the summer, where to go in the region – says Eurotraveler.
Kislovodsk is a garden city that naturally blossoms to its maximum right in the middle of the high season. Let’s multiply this outstanding feature by a warm, but not hot climate, and add a successful location in an intermountain valley with always low air pressure.
Sprinkle some healing water on top, narzan, and season to taste with spicy Caucasian cuisine. If desired, we cover it with scraps of a medical card – in Kislovodsk you can (and should) relax without a sanatorium voucher.
And as a result, the output will be not just edible, but practically gourmet tourism product. Not without, of course, a significant drawback – not only is there no sea, but not even a small river.
But there is also no accompanying noise, crowds of unpleasant people walking around in only shorts a la family panties and flip-flops. And also all these immensely annoying ones – “who wants some sweet corn”!
At the same time, it cannot be said that in July and August Kislovodsk was peacefully quiet and calm – it is the south, a resort (balneological) and there are many vacationers here. But the city retains a neat and smart appearance, does not soften from the heat and even visually charges with energy.
If it’s hot in Sochi in the summer, sweaty and sometimes exhausted faces are visible everywhere, then in Caucasian Mineral Waters everything is different.
Fit young ladies of Balzac’s age, some with umbrellas, leisurely parade in the shade of hundred-year-old fir trees. Small excursion groups wander around foot by foot, showing neither fatigue nor boredom. Because the air is so fresh that it literally tones!
Surprisingly, couples of retirement age trample the alleys cheerfully – and why should they trudge after a week of rest in a good (but too bad, expensive) sanatorium? Some fairly elderly citizens climb ascending paths with such passion and speed that you begin to believe – the climate here is truly youthful.

Weather in Kislovodsk in July
“Just what the doctor ordered” – this common phrase quite accurately reflects the weather realities of the famous Caucasian resort in the middle of summer. The air temperature during the day rarely leaves the corridor of +20-26 degrees Celsius; at night the atmosphere tends to cool down to +16-18 °C.
Stuffiness is thus not observed, although it rains regularly. And their total number – 180-200 mm per month – would scare to death any vacationer who was planning to go “to the seas”.
But in July in Kislovodsk you will never you won’t collide with dust storms. Moreover, the winds seem to freeze at this time of year, not daring to disturb holidaymakers engaged in such an important matter as health improvement.
Perfectly sunny days are not in abundance. But there are also very few openly cloudy ones – the luminary here likes to either hide behind the clouds or suddenly emerge from them, giving warmth and light to townspeople and vacationers.
It is this feature of Kislovodsk that gives numerous reasons to consider it the sunniest resort of the Caucasian Mineral Waters!
The relative humidity at the resort also strictly follows medical recommendations. In the middle of the day she prefers the healthiest interval of about 50-60%. And in the evenings, when air temperatures drop, it can rise to 70-75%.
Kislovodsk in August
The final month of summer is considered the best time to improve your health. Yes, it may not be as sunny as in September. But it’s still warm – on very rare days you’ll need to wear something more than a light jacket to walk around the Resort Park.
The air temperature in Kislovodsk, both at the beginning of August and at the end of August, clearly gravitates towards +20-22 degrees Celsius; it rarely gets higher. This is during the day – at night there are cold snaps down to +8-12 °C.
True, in most cases, even in the dark, it will not be lower than +16-18 °C.

The winds die down almost completely this month. As if realizing that their services are not needed. Rains are not so frequent as they are plentiful – the monthly precipitation rate is 130-150 mm
This is a lot from the point of view of any tourist, even one who came on vacation to Kislovodsk in August, say, from St. Petersburg. But the Caucasian resort town is used to living by its own rules.
In addition, it has an “iron” justification – rains freshen the air and beat dust to the ground. Thus providing a great service in recent years, the army of allergy sufferers and asthmatics has grown greatly in size.
Diseases of the respiratory system can be treated here at any time of the year. And, including during the peak months of summer – reviews indicate this circumstance with certainty.
The sun appears more often than it did in July. Humidity remains within commendable limits: from 55 to 75%.
All this, of course, does not have the best effect (for consumers) on the prices of local boarding houses. But for your money, you get exactly what you were striving for – for the same Adler in August (humid and hot) there are much more mixed reviews.
- Daily rental of apartments in Kislovodsk
Prices 2026
This is not to say that they are shocking. In any case, they are not able to amaze those who have studied, for example, the current hotel price lists of Sochi hotels. Quite a long time ago, but they unanimously decided that they were worthy of money at the Western European level.
In Kislovodsk in July, even for 3.5-4 thousand rubles a day for two you can stay in a very good and clean mini-hotel.
Not in the very center, of course, but not a few kilometers away either. And often not far from the Resort Park, for the sake of walking along which many, in fact, come to the resort.
And for 10-14 thousand rubles per day (again, for two), you can already count on a relatively good sanatorium. At the same time, you will receive a basic course of treatment and, possibly, three meals a day.
Not particularly varied, rather, for the money it’s even dietary. But at least you won’t have to think too long about where to eat.

As for apartments, that is, apartments, they have appeared in abundance at the resort in recent years. And that’s good! Allows thrifty vacationers not to spend extra money in pretentious Kislovodsk hotels that have lost their “shores” in recent years.
As a result, even in the middle of summer you can rent separate apartments at the resort for three or four vacationers for a quite reasonable 5-7 thousand rubles per day. Agree to a small studio or choose something less centrally located – you’ll pay even less!
Excursions around Kislovodsk also cannot be called a ruinous pleasure. For a long sightseeing walk around the city you will pay no more than 1,500 – 2,000 rubles. However, recently they are increasingly “measuring” tourists in groups and charging 4-6 thousand rubles for everyone.
Country trips are more expensive – for a tour to the Elbrus region or Dombay, even just a jeep ride to the Bermamyt view plateau, you will pay the same 5 thousand. But only for one!
Things to do
The resort park is the main point of application for tourists who come for a therapeutic holiday. However, what a point this is – 10 square kilometers of groves, lawns, flower beds and paths. Naturally decorated with some nice “small architectural forms”.
There is no doubt that you will see the famous Colonnade and drink some water in the Narzan Gallery, you will pass – more than once – Kurortny Boulevard. A must-have entertainment is a ride on the cable car, stretched exactly above the park.
The impressive Kurhaus, now home to the city’s Philharmonic Hall, can be admired both from the outside and from the inside. And it’s not just to admire – during the holiday season, musical and organ concerts are given there, and creative evenings are organized.
Here – where else you can go in Kislovodsk. Well now –
Where to go

In the immediate vicinity of Kislovodsk there is a picturesque Alikonovskoe gorge, decorated with Honey waterfalls. It is difficult to get there by public transport, but by car or as part of a tour there are no problems. Along the way you can see the legendary Ring Mountain.
Yes, walk there will be a lot. But this probably won’t surprise citizens who came to KavMinVody.
We also recommend going to see Pyatigorsk in 1 day. After all, it is literally unreasonable not to pay a visit to a famous city, settling just an hour away from it by train. Inquisitive citizens may want to explore other resorts in the area.
If you have time or simply don’t like to sit in one place, we recommend climbing the Bermamyt plateau. It is located relatively close – the distance is only 40 km – but only an experienced driver in a prepared car can climb up.
Walking in the Elbrus region has been and remains a popular activity among holidaymakers. It is curious to suddenly move from the kingdom of greenery to the mighty mountain slopes, almost completely devoid of vegetation.
Lovers of picturesque landscapes will certainly want to take a ride to Dombay. A region rich in natural attractions in Kabardino-Balkaria, which for some reason most tourists visit only in winter. And this is a mistake!
After all, in summer you can visit many more interesting places in Dombay. Yes, you won’t go skiing, but you will see such beauties that will remain in your memory forever!
