Lake Baikal in Eastern Siberia

The cradle of Eastern Siberia is the cleanest and deepest lake in the world – Baikal. The pearl of the Siberian Territory is located in Central Asia, sharing the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia. The handsome Baikal ranks first in the world in its depth, which today is 1642 meters. In terms of water, it surpasses the Lake Ladoga and 82 times on the Lake Lake.

The largest popularity among tourists is the largest of the islands of Baikal – Olkhon, as well as the villages of Listvyanka and Slyudyanka. How to get

It will be easier for you to get to the coast of Baikal from Irkutsk, Ulan – Ude, Severobaikalsk. From Moscow, you can get both by plane and by train, but there are no direct flights in Severobaikalsk, it will be necessary to fly to Nizhneangarsk, located 25 km from the city. Liner taxis, electric trains and even a ship are constantly departing from Irkutsk. It is better to get from Ulan – Ude to the coast of Gremyachinsk, from the central station the electric train, or on the bus.
