Indonesia is not only well -known Bali. This country in Southeast Asia consists of more than 17,000 islands, and here everyone will find what he likes. She combined in herself a rich ancient culture, active sports, mountains, volcanoes, tropical forests and paradise beaches, parties and a relaxing vacation aimed at spiritual development. We tell you which islands should be included in your route.
Entrance rules
All covid restraints have been removed. You will need to visit the country:
- completed customs declaration (it is better to do it in advance so as not to waste time at the airport, but not earlier than two days before departure);
- medical insurance;
- return ticket;
- A visa that is placed upon arrival (cost of 500,000 Indonesian rupees or 2,800 rubles*). You can stay in the country for 30 days;
- Also, a visa can be issued on the site before departure from Russia, it is called E-Voa;
- passport, valid at least 6 months after arrival.
How to get
The country has a huge number of airports, so it is the plane that is the most convenient and fast way to be on a particular island. The largest hubs within the country, of which you can continue to plan your route, is Jakarta (the capital of Indonesia) and Denpasar (if you are already in Bali).
There are no flights from Russia without transplants. The approximate cost of round-trip tickets from Moscow to Jakarta with luggage is 70,000 rubles* per person. Tickets from Moscow to Denpasar will cost 60,000 rubles*.
Java
The island for those who are not frightened by impassable jungle, not the most comfortable conditions and the lack of luxury.
The main attraction here is volcanoes, of which there are 120 (30 of them acting). For example, we recommend visiting Izhen, in its crater there is a sulfur lake – it shimmers with bluish and turquoise colors.
Another important place in Java is a complex of three Tenger volcanoes. There is a special observation deck to see all the craters at once on top. Well, those who especially love extreme can even climb one of the mountains and observe how the pairs of an acting volcano rise. When you go down, you will find yourself in the vast Valley, and the locals will definitely offer you to ride a horse.
Before visiting volcanoes, do not neglect warm things and even caps: the higher you are, the less similar to the tropical resort.
In addition to volcanoes, we recommend visiting the Ujung Kulon National Park. Here you can see endangered species of animals: for example, a Javanese rhino. Also, fans of fauna are waiting for Javanese leopards, bullshit bulls, small Javanese deer, brilliant gulmans, silver gibbons, birds and reptiles.
After that a walk along the Jokyakarta – the city that is called the cultural capital of Indonesia: the oldest universities are located here, festivals are held, a lot of creative people. We recommend choosing housing in the area of the righteousness.
How to get
From Jakarta to Jokyakart, it is best to fly by plane (1.5 hours). This will be the fastest route without transplants. Or you can get by train (6.5 hours).

Flores
It is worth coming here to see one of the seven new wonders of the world – the Taman Nasional Komodo National Park. Now tourists are admiring Varanians, lizards and other representatives of the animal world, as well as a variety of tropical flora.
It was not done on the island and without a huge volcano 1,700 m high with crater lakes changing color.
To relax and watch the underwater world, go to the Maumeri area (there are many cafes, restaurants, beaches where you can swim and engage in snorkeling). And then take a scooter or rent a taxi and go to the village of Rutten, where rice fields spread out, many stalactite caves and locals live in the vicinity as many years ago – without civilization in the classical sense of the word, amenities and other things that are familiar to us.

From Jakarta to Maumer, you can fly in 6 hours. Denpasar will be faster from the airport – this path will take you 3.5 hours.

Suma
We continue our journey through not the most banal locations of Indonesia and get to the sum. Here you are waiting for amazing snorkeling, flowing waterfalls and ancient traditional villages with local tribes.

This island attracts tourists with its colorfulness, silence, perfectly white sand and lack of transport. Here they do not ride a taxi or bikes, but all this is not necessary, because Gili-Meno can go in a slow step in half an hour.
Here, those who want to swim in crystally clean water without waves (and hence, without grofers with boards), engage in snorkeling, observe the turtles and just do nothing to do nothing. In general, there really are not many entertainment options, except for a classic beach holiday and walking until 5-6 pm not yet darkened.
There are no clubs, restaurants and bars here, but enterprising locals opened cafes and small shops with the most necessary right in their homes.
How to get
It is best to get here with Bali by ferry. This path will take you a little more than 3 hours and all this time you will enjoy incredible views.
If you are flying from Jakarta, then the flight to Lombok (the nearest city-port city to Gili islands) will take 1.5-2 hours from you, and then you will need to get to the BanGSA pier and already swim to Gili-Meno on the boat (30 minutes).
