Rome in June 2025 – Is it worth it? Weather and reviews, air temperature, how to dress, prices in hotels and excursions. What to do and what to see in Rome in early June and closer to July, where to go to relax the sea is in the Eurotraveler review.
“Eternal City” is quite naturally the most visited by tourists in Italy. And if in winter in Rome there may be some lack of idle in the streets of individuals with cameras and selfie-plugs, then at another time of the year the streets are crowded with curious ones.
Summer in this sense is the most peak time. However, not only it! The number of travelers arriving from outside is incredibly large and Easter. The Italians themselves use a brief spring vacation to visit the capital of the country. And, if possible, hear the preaching of the pope.
In the period from June to August, Rome attracts travelers differently: mostly cloudless, albeit very hot weather. On the one hand, well suitable for hiking excursions in ancient paving stones. On the other hand, forcing to carefully approach the planning of routes.
And sometimes even forcing to change the tactics and period of wakefulness! Indeed, in other months, only evening or morning walks are the only reasonable way to get acquainted with the Italian capital.
However, now – not about them!
Weather in Rome in June
Theoretically allows a lot. After all, meteorologists usually promise moderate heat with air temperatures up to +27-30 degrees Celsius and the small probability of precipitation.
Needless to say, weather forecasters are often mistaken?! And if at the beginning of June in Rome it is really not dumbly hot (usually not higher than +25-27 ° C), then in the middle and end of the month it is better to be prepared for temperatures in the range of +30-35 ° C during the day and about +22-25 degrees at night.
These temperatures are able to stay for a week or two without a break and then walks around the hot city cease to please. But in some years, the periods of crazy heat in Rome in June replace the segments not so exhausting, with air temperatures about +24-26 ° C.
Again, you can rebuild your daily schedule and go for walks in the evenings or even at night. When Rome looks especially old and charming – at the same time, it also refreshes!
Just keep in mind that it is better to do this after 8 o’clock in the evening, when the sun finally goes to sleep over the horizon. You can finish vagrancy in the “Eternal City” at least at 6-7 in the morning, although the sun in June rises above it long before 5!
The duration of daylight hours in Rome throughout June is at least 15 hours.
Precipitation
According to many years of statistics, he will wait for a weak and rarely in the capital of Italy in the early summer in the capital of Italy: no more than 3-4 times in a month. And the total rainfall is not more than 20-25 mm.
What is amazing, right, right? – It does not allow to talk about the exceptional health of the June climate in Rome. On the contrary, in the reviews you can often meet mention of “humid and stuffy”, even on sunny days the atmosphere presses on the psyche as if he lives the expectation of a thunderstorm.
Only now the thunderstorms themselves ignore the great city. Not allowing you to feel the relief that always occurs after a violent summer rain.
What to take with you
In June, in Rome, everyone walks in what they have to, but the vast majority is in completely summer clothes. That is, in light dresses and sundresses, skirts, thin T -shirts and shirts, topics, shorts and similar things of light tones and natural fabrics. Your legs will like open sandals and sandals most of all.
As for hats, we urge you to take the case seriously. Stand up with panama, cap or wide -brimmed hat, sufficiently shabby face (and better than the neck).
When going out into the street, you should always put in a bag or backpack of at least a liter of drinking water. Well, or – buy the right one in the nearest store.
You can also give yourself a vow to eat only Jalato, light salads and sandwiches (the first in Rome is not very good, but the second and third are good). At least until the evening, when the drop in air temperature to +21-24 will cause the desire to taste something more thorough ° C.
Should I put an umbrella in luggage, that is, the extra 300-500 grams? It is unlikely that the probability that the device is useful is small.
Prices 2025
They are high. Therefore, if you want to pay for accommodation, albeit large, but still lifting money and at the same time settle in a good hotel (apartments), housing should be book no later than March-April.
And do not expect that you will find options cheaper than 120-140 € per night (taxes are not turned on) for two. In any case, if you deliberately avoid a too angry and very dangerous (especially at night) area around the Termini station.
From our subjective point of view, the Una Chicca a Roma Hotel looks an excellent option in the Eternal City. Which is located in the suburbs, but is connected to Rome itself with a convenient and regular railway message.
The location of the designated hotel will especially appeal to those who arrive by air and not for long. And then he intends to continue his journey … in Italy or beyond
Located in the city itself, although someone will say-in the Roman suburb-inexpensive (from 140 € per night) the Demi’s Home guest house. He deserved a high rating, despite the fact that on foot to quickly get from him even to the Vatican (15-20 minutes), not to mention the center of Rome (30-40 minutes) will not work.
But in the guest house there is a common kitchen for several numbers. And, therefore, you can well prepare yourself a quick snack that returned with flooded light and warmth by the heat of Roman streets.
Excursions
They seem to be inexpensive. However, this significantly depends on what you really would like to get. If, as part of a small group with a guide, explore the Vatican museums and the Sistine chapel, visit St. Peter’s Cathedral, then you need to cook from 60-75 €. But for an introductory walk along the Coliseum and the Roman forum with the guide, you can go for 35-40 €.
What to do
In this matter, we are not entitled to advise you – we can only offer to study our list of places that you can see in Rome for 4 days. And so – you should independently develop movements of movement routes on the high probability of hot and cloudless weather.
Able to get up early and (or) do not be scared of incredible accumulations of tourists? Then you should definitely visit the Colosseum (there is practically no shadow if the underground premises are excluded) and the Roman forum (Shadows are not enough). Try to feel the coolness near the Trevi fountain, cool down a little inside the cathedral of St. Peter and the Vatican’s museums.
Tickets in the latter are strictly recommended to be book in advance, at least 2-3 weeks before the estimated date of visit. We will also advise you to prepare for a visit to the Borgez Gallery – an extremely popular Roman attraction.
You can try to take a walk along the ancient Appaire Road, in some places pleasantly shaded by huge pines. It is quite possible to buy tickets for some concert that give in the summer in the baths of Karakalla-again, you will see live and another, not the most famous attractions of the city.
Where to go
A lot of interesting things are located in the vicinity of Rome. And this is not only the gardens and villas of Tivoli, where, probably, 80 tourists are sent. But also the former summer residence of the pope in the town of Castel-Gandolfo.
The settlement on the shores of Lake Albano and the miracle itself, how good. And if you take into account the possibility of visiting a pontiff’s residence previously closed to the public, it becomes obvious – you need to go there.
It may well visit citizens who come to Rome in June also the idea of a trip to the Primorsky resort. On the coast of the Tyrrin Sea can be reached by metro and train in just an hour.
Most of the Romans in good weather go to the weekend in Lido Di-Ostia, and hang up there until complete self-will. Thin, loving a more calm rhythm of life, the naturals are shown towards and quieter: Antio and Nettono.
