Payment of a business trip on a day off
According to the Labor Code, work on a day off on a business trip is paid in double size. The payment option is also possible in the standard amount, but then the employee is provided with an additional day off at a convenient time for him.
A business trip on the weekend should be preceded by receiving written consent from an employee and issuing an appropriate order. At the same time, it is forbidden to involve pregnant and minors to work on weekends or holidays (with some exceptions).

How is the payment of the weekend on a business trip is calculated
To understand how a business trip is paid on a day off, it is necessary to consider three possible scenarios.
- The employee is on a long business trip and does not work on weekends and holidays. In this case, the employer pays him only business trips and per diem. At the same time, payments set on business days in the amount of average earnings are not charged on weekends.
- The employee is on a business trip and works on weekends or holidays. Payment of weekends on a business trip, in accordance with the Labor Code, is made in double size, or at a standard rate, but an additional time is provided. Also, the employee is paid travel and per diem.
- The employee goes on a business trip or returns from it on a day off. In addition to travel and per diem, the employee is also paid all the hours spent on the road, and in double size.
Separately, it is worth noting that the per diem is paid in full for all days of the business trip, including days on the way.
It is also important to remember that to calculate wages at the weekend, a full monthly earnings are used, and not the average earnings that is paid on weekdays during a business trip.
