The route of Andalusia-Algarve
Andalusia is one of the most interesting provinces of Spain, the journey through it by car turned out to be a reasonable decision. By car, you can go around several cities and choose on the spot in which of them it makes sense to stop at night (for example, we did not book housing in advance). If you plan to linger for a couple of days on the Spanish coast, then keep in mind that dear resorts – Malaga and Marbella are located to the east of Gibraltar, and the west is cheaper, but no less beautiful Cadis. But all the most interesting in Andalusia (Seville, Cordoba and “White Cities”) is in the depths of the mainland, and in August it is painfully hot, so if the main goal of your trip is sights, do not repeat my mistake and choose another month. For a beach vacation, we went from Andalusia to the Portuguese province of Algarve. The main plus of the Portuguese part of the coast of the Atlantic compared to the Spanish – rest there is cheaper, minus – water is almost always colder than in neighboring Spain. The Kadis-Alofeira road will take only a couple of hours, it is reasonable to go along paid roads at the peak hour, and the rest of the time you can use free, nothing like our traffic jams is there anyway.

Auto or motototrip is our favorite travel format. Only by personal transport do you get complete freedom of movement, and this is so beautiful – do not depend on the routes and schedules of buses and have many opportunities for improvisations and spontaneous decisions during the trip.
When we go to the auto travel, we usually outline the general direction and main points on it, but we always try to see something curious along the way-to move out of the road, make an unplanned stop, and sometimes even change the route.
The first car on which we went on a trip to Europe was the trailer (house on wheels)-my friends and I wanted to go somewhere for the New Year holidays, but we realized quite late and it turned out that all hotels for normal money were already inaccessible, so a crazy thought came to mind the hotel and transport and, as a result, this trip became one of the most unforgettable!
Sometimes, a car for us is just a means for moving from one point to another, but there are some routes that are simply created for the car. For example, we got great pleasure and a lot of impressions of trips along the azure bank of France and along the Portuguese coast.
Well, besides a beautiful and interesting route, a car itself can be created directly – so, say, I don’t even remember which car we rented in France, but traveling in Portugal and the USA on Cabiolets, as well as the Indonesian islands on the motorcycle, precisely remained in their memory for life.

On a trip to Asia, I like to rent a car. Yes, the most popular transport here is a scooter, but it is the most dangerous. The road traffic is not at all the same as in Europe or Russia, but it is much better to lose a little time due to more dense traffic and less maneuverability on narrow roads than to walk with rolled knees and not swim in the ocean. It is not accepted to walk here in principle, and with your own transport you can make a route along interesting attractions and not be tied to an excursion group. In addition, a car is your own house on wheels, where you can throw swimsuits with towels, and warm clothes for climbing the mountains, and a light dress for a party on the beach: Thus, a bunch of seats can be traveled for the whole day, to go to the hotel.
Well, in the island states, for example, in Indonesia or in the Philippines, where a ferry message between the islands is well established, you can leave very far from tourist areas with your own car and see completely wild places and unforgettable landscapes. Once, my friends and I rpm in three islands for a week and a half, visited a dozen wild beaches, climbed two volcanoes and looked at three waterfalls. At the same time, on each island we easily found hotels, equidistant from the main attractions, and could vary their route based on momentary desires.

Traveling in the center of France from Paris to Dijon, we rented Ford Focus for a company of three people. To take a small car in France is an undoubted plus – you can always find a place for parking. Well, the main advantage of traveling in your own car is the opportunity to call in all small and non -tourist places along the way to the destination point.
A funny story happened when we had to refuel the Focus. In the accompanying documents in English there were no records of the type of fuel (or were, but in small print),
And no one knew French. As a result, we were perplexed for a very long time why the Pistol was not included in the gas tank. The comic situation continued until the compassionate Frenchman explained that we tried to season the car on gasoline with a diesel engine.
In general, I advise you to book a car in advance via the Internet, not save on insurance and be sure to understand all the options of order. For example, you can not overpay the company money if you independently refuel a full tank before returning the car.

I have a funny story with trips on a rented car in Europe:
My parents and I traveled around Spain. Having arrived in Valencia, we stopped at a small family hotel next to the airport. Budget hotels in Europe at the entrance to the city or right next to the airport are a good way to save. After all, if you rent a car, you do not have to stop in the city center, overpaying for a room. All attractions from you are ten to fifteen minutes. Among other pleasant bonuses, the hotel offered a free parking.
– Take it! – We decided, and paid at once for several days. At the hotel, the owner himself met us, he pointed to the parking lot with his hand. Before entering the “free” parking, there was a sign: Welcome! The first two hours of parking are free. ”
– How so? – we asked in disappointment at the reception. – We were promised a free parking, but here it is. After all, they can be fined!
“Don’t worry,” the hotel owner smiled. – No one will fined you, and you will not pay a cent for parking. Go up to the room, and do not think about anything. Two hours later I looked out of the window. The owner of the hotel approached our car, took off the cardboard counter – the clock that is issued along with the rented car, so that the driver exhibits the start of the parking lot – and transferred the arrows for two hours ahead, starting the next free period.
