In the mountains of the Greater Caucasus in North Ossetia there is a Karmadon gorge – one of the most beautiful in the region. On September 20, 2002, the Kolka glacier came here. Another memorial to the victims of Kolka in the form of a man stuck in an ice block is located near the village of Gisel, where the mudflow stopped.
