Weather in Nha Trang in August, is it worth going? on vacation? Water and air temperature, reviews, is it possible to swim, what to take with you, prices 2026. What to do and see in Nha Trang in August, where to go nearby – says Eurotraveler.

The tropics in August are a complicated story. Someone will even simply say “ugh” – and in general they will be right.

Because summer in the tropical climate of the Northern Hemisphere is not just characterized by high air temperatures. What’s worse is that it’s also extremely wet. And at the same time, sometimes it threatens with typhoons.

And, nevertheless, there are places in the tropics that will provide mostly sunny weather at this time of year. And they almost certainly won’t disappoint.

We intend to talk about one of them – Nha Trang in Vietnam in August. Without hushing up the minuses, but showing the pluses.

The abundance of which not only amazes, but compels think seriously: Shouldn’t we exchange it? inflatable pool at the cottage (crossed out) Black, Baltic, Mediterranean Sea to their Asian counterpart, the South China Sea? If not forever, then at least for 10 days?

We thought about it. And this is what it turned out to be –

Worth knowing

  1. Is it even possible to vacation in Vietnam in August? Alas, not everywhere – only in the central part of the country, in Da Nang and Nha Trang, the weather at the end of summer creates good conditions for spending time at the seaside. In the north and south of Vietnam, including Phan Thiet, it will not only be very hot, but also very damp
  2. What fruits to try in August in Nha Trang? Very different: in the summer, mangosteens and passion fruits, mangoes, papaya are still ripening; for lychees and rambutans, this is the season. You can also safely count on the fact that your menu every day will include ripe pineapples, melons and watermelons, guava
  3. When does the rainy season start in Nha Trang? It is believed that no earlier than September. Although in other years and in October this resort will delight you with swimming in the sea and even sunbathing

Weather in Nha Trang in August

If you are young or at least not old (at least at heart) and have no reason to complain about your health, then you should like it. People with cardiovascular diseases, as well as those who have reason to suspect that they have something like asthma, should think again: weigh all the pros and cons.

In Nha Trang you can swim in the sea in August, the water temperature is +29 degrees

Because the air temperature in Nha Trang in August does exactly what it should do in the summer at 12 degrees north latitude. Namely: she regularly climbs into the range of +32-36 degrees Celsius and demonstrates with all her appearance that I like it there.

In the early mornings and evenings it is cooler; at night, if you are not used to it, you can generally freeze – the atmosphere cools down to +24-26 °C. Well, that is, how to freeze, not “to the bone,” of course.

You won’t have to tremble, on the contrary, you will enjoy this time, absorb the smells and sensations, listen to the voice of the night, feel rested and… happy. Get ready for your next busy and hot vacation day!

Which will start in August in Nha Trang very early, at about 5.30 am. And it won’t end very late, around 6 pm.

Daylight hours are not too long about 12.5 hours. But the good news is that throughout the month it will demonstrate greater stability.

Well, now about the most interesting disturbing –

Rain and sun

Precipitation is present in Nha Trang in August, although it does not differ in particular volumes or intensity. And what is this – 50-60 mm – for the tropics?

The number of partially rainy days is 3-4 per month. Moreover, as rightly indicated in the reviews (so at least in this – irecommend.ru/content/polet-ne-v-sezon-kak-eto-na-samom-dele-vetnam-i-tailand-nemnogo-sravneniya-laif-khaki-na-tem) rains in Nha Trang in the August version fall mainly in afternoon or even at night.

So those who are used to getting up early will have time to swim and sunbathe in the morning. Having done the first in an almost calm and – by the way – very clear sea. And the second is on a beach that is not littered with vacationers.

Because yes, in Nha Trang the beaches are regularly cleaned. And they do this, naturally, in the morning. Until the sun baking with “all the money” made it simply impossible for any activity in open spaces.

Nha Trang often experiences cloudy weather in August

Clear days at a Vietnamese summer resort, however, are not a priority. At least not every year. In general, get ready that instead of a cloudless sky you will often see cloudy ones.

Under which, by the way, you can burn almost as easily and simply as under clear

Therefore, be sure to take sunscreen (in large quantities) to Vietnam and use it actively. And, of course, cotton and linen summer clothes with long sleeves will also help protect your skin from excess ultraviolet radiation.

Here is the weather forecast in Nha Trang for the coming days.

Water temperature

will allow swimming at all times when it is not prohibited. And there is actually no need to prohibit (for example, red flags) swimming in Nha Trang in August: the winds are weak, and typhoons in the summer for some reason bypass this part of the South China Sea coast.

However, it may very well be that they pour out all their fury on the Chinese coast located somewhat to the north (here – is it worth going to Hainan in August and what will happen to it)! Because there, and in the north of Vietnam, during this period everything can be far from rosy…

During August, the water temperature in Nha Trang rarely drops below +29 degrees Celsius. And in fact, the only thing you need to do to make your beach holiday a success is choose the right time appearance on the shore.

Because:

Prices 2026

Compared to July, they not only do not fall, but even grow noticeably. Which is not really surprising – after all, the dry season is at its peak, and August is the traditional holiday period.

As a result, a package tour for 7-8 nights in some not the most luxurious, but really good 5-star hotel will cost 230+ thousand rubles for two. At the same time, the price of the offer includes direct flights from Moscow, transfers and medical insurance (this is important).

Independent travel organization – commendable deed. But in our case it is unlikely to help save money.

It all depends, however, where you take your flight from. If from Moscow, then air tickets to Nha Trang (not for direct flights) and back will cost at least 80 thousand rubles (~ €800) in August.

And you get pretty tired on the road, both there and back. Here you can read how many hours it will take to fly to Vietnam from Russia, whether the seats are comfortable and what they feed you.

Evening Nha Trang is good for excursions

Hotels

in Nha Trang are still inexpensive. Especially when you compare them, for example, with their European colleagues.

A day’s stay in the excellent, although not first-class, Seaside Boutique Hotel Nha Trang Beach (6-7 minutes to the beach) will cost ~€40 for two in August. And this is simply a chic price – you won’t find anything similar today even in Montenegro, which is considered an inexpensive place for a beach holiday.

It costs even less to stay at a hotel like the Dolphin Hotel Nha Trang. Where a couple of tourists at the end of summer will pay no more than €20-30 per day to rent a Deluxe room.

Excursions in Nha Trang, as well as guided cruises along the coast (swimming and snorkeling, as well as lunches, are included in the price) cost about €25-30 per person. For an organized excursion to Dalat you will have to pay almost twice as much.

Things to do

However, if study tours are very tiring due to the heat, you can really devote all your time to being at the seaside? And, among other things, to perform cruises along the coast and to the islands, snorkeling and even diving?

And in this sense, you just need to pay attention to Hon Mun Island. A place near Nha Trang, famous for its perfectly clean sea and the presence of coral reefs. In summer, diving here promises the greatest “dividends”, because the sea swell is insignificant, and visibility under water reaches 20 meters.

People who lack adrenaline in everyday life will certainly want to visit the local “Monkey Island”. The inhabitants of which are always waiting for tourists to visit. And we are always ready to take away from them both food and more expensive items – the same cameras (or bags with money and documents).

Despite the heat, every first tourist wants to ride a cable car over the sea on Hon Tre Island. And not just like that, but with the aim of visiting the large water park and entertainment center there, owned by the Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang hotel (free admission for guests). By the way, in the evenings this hotel hosts good show programs.

As for Dalat, we have already mentioned the “desirability” of such a trip – together with an excursion or independently (from 4 hours on the road one way). And we must admit that we didn’t manage to go there in the summer: the vacation turned out to be too relaxing!
