Hello! My name is Angelina Stefanidi (@salut.angelina), and in September I flew to St. Petersburg with the Kudabin project.

St. Petersburg is a city about which I had only children’s memories. I love to travel, and I have already traveled 20 countries, but in the cultural capital of Russia I have not been since 8 years old. I spent two days in St. Petersburg with Onetwotrip and I want to talk about my impressions of the city.

The northern capital met with cloudy and rainy weather, but this did not spoil the impressions of the trip: the city seemed to be even more beautiful. Immediately after a six -hour flight, I went to dinner. It seems to me that Petersburg is a gastronomic paradise, because in all the establishments that I managed to visit were incredibly tasty and atmospheric. I especially liked the restaurant “Happiness”: a cozy place with the most delicious chocolate and iris.

After lunch, I went to my Horizon Bonvita apartments located next to the Marse field to leave things. A beautiful view of the roofs of St. Petersburg opens from the window, and inside it is so beautiful that I, as a large connoisseur of aesthetics, simply rejoiced.

For many years of travel, I understood one thing: the first days of the trip is better to spend slowly. Visiting dozen places per day and a clear plan in my head I will always prefer long measured walks. It seems to me that this is how the city is revealed.

As part of the project, I needed not only to get acquainted with the new city, but also to complete an interesting task from my subscribers. Choosing from three options, the majority voted for the one that helped me a lot on this trip to pay more attention to the details. I needed to make my own photo collection of 10 doors and share addresses. Of course, in the end, the pictures turned out to be much more, and now I even think to make a photo hunting with my tradition.

The rest of the tasks (meet the dawn on the roof and ask the street artist to draw my portrait) I will definitely leave the next time.

On the first day I walked around Nevsky Prospekt and nearby streets, walked along the embankments, gardens and parks, visited Kazan Cathedral, saved the St. Isaac’s Cathedral on blood.

The entrance to the Kazan Cathedral is free, and to visit the Savior on Blood and the Isaac’s Cathedral you need to purchase tickets (this can be done both on the spot and in advance on the site).

The most struck by the Isaac’s Cathedral, where I went and cried from what I saw. This place was surprised by its beauty, majesty, scale, which cannot be described in words. I was lucky, and I went to the cathedral right before the start of a free tour, where we were told about the artistic decoration of the interior and the history of the creation of his murals. I advise you to rise to the colonnade: from there a beautiful view of the whole city opens.

The cost of an entrance ticket to Isaakievsky Cathedral is 450 rubles*, for the colonnade – 300 rubles*.

The day ended in a walk around the evening city and a coffee shop “Signature publications”: here you can find books for every taste and topic and read them right on the spot behind a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

The second day I completely devoted the city to the inspection and passed more than 30 kilometers. During the trip, I walked in almost all the central regions of St. Petersburg, but most of all I liked two places.

The Petrograd district very reminded me of little Paris within Russia: amazing architecture, a mixture of styles and directions that so harmoniously merge in one place. It was from here that the history of the city began.

New Holland is an amazing place in the very center of St. Petersburg, the only island in the city created by people. Here you can enjoy the grass garden, go into the “bottle” for shopping or snacks, or just relax on the green lawn. And of course, various exhibitions, installations, and lectures are constantly held on the island.

We get used to fast and dynamic travel, we want to see everything at a time, but often in this hurry we miss the main thing: to stop and imbued with the atmosphere of the city. Do not rush anywhere, but simply look around and notice.

I am glad that my trip turned out just this: Petersburg was a calm, inspiring, full of art, creativity and charming details for me. A little gloomy, but golden-breed-autumn in this city is amazing.

Separately, I want to note the metro: it is very easy to navigate in it, and some stations are a whole work of art, and each has its own mood. If possible, visit Avtovo, Narva, Pushkinskaya, Mayakovskaya and Admiralty.

And a small tip: be sure to go to one of the most beautiful ceremonial St. Petersburg at Lomonosov, house 14. You will need to pay 100-130 rubles for the entrance (the money goes to maintain order and cleaning).

I am very grateful to Onetwotrip for a trip to St. Petersburg, which was also very symbolic for me. Why? Because I was about to move to this city. And it was after the trip that I finally made sure that I was making the right decision.
