Hello! My name is Sasha Caminer (@sashakaminer), I went alone to the Caucasus, looked at Elbrusier and Nalchik, cooked in the village of Khichina, and all this thanks to the Kudabin project.
I love the mountains and for a long time wanted to see Elbrusier. It can be visited on both sides – from the side of mineral waters or nalchik.
The flight to Nalchik takes about two hours. There is no official car sharing or rental of cars in the city. And in order to rent something decent not for crazy money, you need to prepare for the trip in advance.
I was lucky to join the jeep in a women’s company, and I boldly recommend that you follow my example. There are a lot of jeep Turov by Elbrus, the locals will show “tasty” places and take it to all remote points. In the summer, there are a lot of Hyking Tours in the mountains, and I definitely want to return and end up in one of them.
So, our adventure began with the fact that we stocked up with huts and drove along the rainy Nalchik to the mountains. There was no luck with the weather, all our excursion points were covered with fog, but this was also of their own romance.
I stayed in Terskol at Moon Hotel. This is a well -known village of Elbrusya, from where a beautiful view of the mountains opens, only ten minutes to the lift and an hour and a half from Nalchik himself.
The lift of Azau leads to the Mir station, where it seems, it seems, everyone who comes to Nalchik. I went up for 600 rubles to the very top, and did not appreciate the snowy appearance. But here is the first stop where the snow has not yet covered the mountains, conquered me. Ocher colors and textures of the mountains, the wind in the hair and a red car, waiting only for you. I was lucky to be there at 10 in the morning and get the most atmospheric descent and rise.
Another compulsory occupation in the Caucasus is riding. As it turned out, riding a horse in the mountains is the same usual experience for Kabardians and Balkars as to ride a bicycle for Muscovites who grew up at dachas. In Terskol, I stumbled upon two horse clubs for tourists, there I was put on a horse without experience and took me for 1000 rubles in an ecotope through the forest as part of a small group. It was beautiful, but not very diverse.
When I was returning to Nalchik by a taxi, I had to wait until the roads, sheep, cows and horses were released the road. The local taxi driver habitually cursed, and I enjoyed this colorful sight.
In Nalchik, I was at 5 pm, and I had to complete the task. My subscribers chose for me the preparation of Khychin with one of the locals, and I was terribly nervous! I had no acquaintances in Nalchik, I have not traveled alone for 7 years, and I am an introvert.
But everything turned out perfectly, it was tasty and fun. I really want to return in the summer, go to the mountains, there are huts and drink wine and visit all lakes, waterfalls and gorges from my list!
