Due to the fact that the Armenian communities are scattered on different corners of the planet, the culinary culture of this country is very multinational. We tell you where in Yerevan to taste the dishes of Lebanese, Pan -Asian and European cuisine, and also in which bars and coffee houses it is worth looking.
How to get
You can fly without transplants to Yerevan from Moscow for 11,000 rubles* (Flyone Armenia) or 14,000 rubles* (Azimuth and Armenian Airlines) one way. It will not be possible to fly directly from St. Petersburg, the price of a one-way ticket with a transfer in Moscow starts at 14,000 rubles*.
Another way to be in the capital of Armenia is to fly from Sochi. Travel time will be 1 hour 15 minutes, the cost of tickets starts from 6,000 rubles* one way (Flyone Armenia or Red Wings).

Cafe Jengyalog Hac

That rare case when the line in the cafe is built for one dish. Here they serve a hats – a cake with fresh chopped greens. Each season the taste changes: it all depends on the herbs that are collected at this time. It is recommended to drink such a snack by Armenian tan (this is a drink based on goat or cow’s milk).
Dolmama restaurant
Address: st. Pushkin, 10
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, actor George Clooney and rapper Kanye West has already visited here – only you are not enough for a complete set. The restaurant opened the doors in 1998 in many ways thanks to local residents: some tables donated by citizens can still be seen in the halls. Two branded dishes of the establishment – dolma and hashlama. The first according to the cooking method resembles cabbage rolls, only grape leaves are used instead of cabbage leaves. The second is stew. Usually, water is used to extinguish, but the Dolmama chef replaced it with a mixture of fortified wine and cream.
Tavern Yerevan

In this place, you can quickly and budgetly eat dishes of Armenian cuisine. Get ready for huge portions – the place is designed for large companies. In the menu, pay attention to barbecue, coals and khachapuri fish. The table must be book a few days before the visit.
Restaurant Kamankha

In winter, they come here to warm up with traditional soup on bone broth (it is called hash), and in the summer – behind the dishes on the barbecue, khachapuri and salads from fresh vegetables and herbs. A great option for those who want to have lunch on the veranda in the city center and not be distracted by the noise of the crowd. This institution hid under the arch on North Prospekt. The menu has vegetable and meat variations of snacks, home pasta, steaks and rods. Pay attention to a cocktail card with many copyright drinks.

Dargett beer bar

The first craft beer in Armenia. Here you will be offered more than 20 types of foam and classic snacks for them – onion rings, fries and chicken nuggets in a crisp panel. In special demand among visitors is beer with fruit notes – pay attention to peach ale.
The Bird Cage bar

This small institution with French-Polynesian cuisine and an interior in the style of the film “Neon Demon” hid over the cognac barre of Phoenix.
The Bird Cage cocktail card is as intricate as the appearance of the bar. Positions are named after endemic birds and are prepared from ingredients characteristic of the region where they live. Snakes also cannot be called simple: try popcorn from shrimp or copyright guacamole. In the evenings, at the weekend there are noisy DJs, but you can sit at a table on a cozy balcony.

The flagship dish of this restaurant is clear from the name. Balls of grated chickpeas here are served with air Pete, vegetables and traditional sauces. If you plan to eat on the go, take a shawarma with meat or chicken filling. According to the Syrian and Lebanese recipes, slices of fried potatoes are added to Shawrema – it turns out two in one in one, immediately with a side dish.

The little Hedesti-coffeery in the center of Yerevan is especially appreciated among the locals: it is in the yard, so there are few random passers-by here. In Lumen, you can try the grains of local frying, and also listen to music on vinyl – the owners have a rich collection. When you have breakfast coffee and croissants, pay attention to the assortment of a mini-store. You can buy with you not only the grains of local frying, but also homemade gadgets for brewing.

They go to the Italian cafe for the sake of pasta and complex breakfasts. To choose from – English with fried sausages and red beans, French with a croissant and a fruit salad, as well as a simple omelet with tops. Drinking options do not change depending on the season, so even in winter here you can order frappuchino with cream. After breakfast, it is convenient to go for a walk around the city – the opera theater, the Museum of Modern Art and the Historical District Konda are within walking distance.

Those who are not familiar with the intricacies of the art of coffee, do not worry – the staff will friendly explain the taste of each grain variety. It will not work to eat here, but in the assortment there are experimental positions, for example, coffee wine. You can only pay in cash.

You will not find a familiar “California” and “Philadelphia” in the menu, but you can try rolls with salmon and orange topping, springs roll with shrimp and mint and other unusual combinations. Combine the selected dish with a glass of sake, cocktail or wine. The location is perfect for lunch or dinner in a large company – here is a wide selection of snacks in the table. In the summer, the veranda works.
Cafe Prepa

The motto of the creators of Prepa is to make healthy food delicious and multifaceted. Four types of Bowles are served here: with tuna, chicken, trout and salmon. The convenience is that no one mixes the ingredients in the dish – a trifle, but nice. In addition to standard coffee and tea, the menu contains a wide selection of freshly squeezed juices. The bartenders mix them at their discretion, so be prepared for unusual combinations – for example, Fresh from lemon, pineapple and ginger.
Cafe Ramen Ten

It is easy to determine the flagship dish in this cafe: you will find eight Ramen options on the menu. If you want a variety, pay attention to the section with the poke or rolls – there are all classic positions in the assortment. For dessert you can take another Asian specialty – Moti cake. This is a traditional Japanese rice dough with author’s filling: white chocolate with a layer of strawberry puree.

Try a green salad with avocados, bao buns with a torn pork, and take the shrimp for a snack in a sharp sauce. You can continue the evening on the dance floor – on weekends in Kong, local DJs put music. If you want to sit on a picturesque balcony, book a table a week before the visit.
