Kislovodsk in September – Is it worth going on vacation? Weather and reviews, air temperature, how to dress, prices 2026 for air tickets, in sanatoriums and hotels. What to do and see in Kislovodsk in September, where to go in the surrounding area and in the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody region – says Eurotraveler.

September is a good month for travel. In most places on the world map – Russian Kislovodsk is no exception.

Moreover, it may well become a real rule, a good habit. After all, the beginning of autumn at this resort is much more different fine and in every sense optimistic weatherthan even the summer months.

Prices in hotels, not to mention the best Kislovodsk sanatoriums, in the fall, alas, decrease slightly, if at all. But on the other hand, the vacationer will probably have even more opportunities than in the summer…

Almost certainly, it will not be limited to measured walking and terribly healthy promenades through the Resort Park. Because you will certainly need something like that.

Like, at a minimum, seeing powerful panoramas on the Bermamyt mountain plateau, well known among the masses. A real journey to the incredibly picturesque mountain region of Dombay.

Or, for example, climbing Elbrus by cable car. And what – after all, the largest mountain in Europe is located very close to Kislovodsk – you can get there by car in just 3 hours!

In a word, yes – you won’t be bored. Perhaps that is why for many years now, September in Kislovodsk has been held under the slogan “let’s catch up and surpass Sochi.”

Now, not only in the temperature sense, but in terms of the number of tourists received, KavMinVody is trying to match the “best,” that is, the most popular, destinations of a huge country. And there are many places you can go to Russia in September to relax and get medical treatment!

There is little doubt that things will be different in 2026. That is, it definitely won’t be – unlike some resorts in the Krasnodar Territory, Caucasian Mineral Waters and its uncrowned capital, Kislovodsk, will continue to remain extremely popular in the first half of autumn!

Weather in Kislovodsk in September

Based on the meteorological statistics of recent years, there is every reason to expect a pleasant pastime. And that means you need to take light blouses with you and airy blouses, arm yourself with straw hats and even lace umbrellas.

So that you can then stroll in style along the well-groomed paths of the giant Spa Park. Absorbing the resort atmosphere and such delicious, healing, air. Somewhere in the depths of consciousness, aware of my exceptional luck.

You can walk leisurely and restfully – in silence. Or, if you miss communication, in company – to the accompaniment of an interesting story from a guide, for example.

In this case, it is unlikely that you will have to somehow insulate yourself either in the first or in the second half of the month. And if at first it may even be a little hot – the air temperature in Kislovodsk in early September by noon can reach +26-28, sometimes even +30 degrees Celsius – then after 10 days the weather seems to calm down, entering an autumn rut.

So during the second and third ten days of the month, the readings of Kislovodsk street thermometers during the day fluctuate in the range of +17-22 °C.

But at night… even cooler! After sunset, even at the beginning of September in Kislovodsk it gets cold to +13-17 °C. And by the middle of the month, the local atmosphere at night can cool down to +8-10 °C.

So in the morning, dynamically following the next health path, you will be able to realize how great it is. It is invigorating in every sense, giving the adventure a perky, even slightly youthful, note.

There is enough sunlight. Because daylight hours range from 13 hours and 15 minutes on September 1st to just under 12 hours as we head into October.

Precipitation

It doesn’t rain very often in Kislovodsk during September – only 5 or 6 days may turn out to be stormy. There are also showers, as well as thunderstorms – the average monthly precipitation (about 70-80 mm) is quite high.

But a monotonous, mournful drizzle that makes you lose patience and composure is not the specialty of this area. At least in the fall!

Humidity also favors stability. And having risen (no more than 75-80%, however) after the next rain, it quickly returns to the commendable range of 50-65%.

How to dress

Obviously, one should not be too frivolous in this matter. Especially if you are going to walk a lot not only during the day, but also in the morning and also in the evenings.

At first, you’ll almost certainly purposefully ignore your windbreaker – and why bother wearing one in 25-degree weather? – but on some days it can come in handy!

Especially if you go beyond the resort and intend to entertain yourself with a trip around the region. For example, decide to go somewhere from Kislovodsk. And not nearby: to neighboring Pyatigorsk and Essentuki, but further away: to the Chegem waterfalls, in the Elbrus region, in general – to Dombay.

Chegem waterfalls are worth a trip from Kislovodsk in September

In the mountains it’s always coldeven in summer. What can we talk about if, during the autumn ascent to Elbrus at an altitude of about 4 km, climbers may encounter caps of snow and temperatures of -20 degrees?

Of course, you are (probably) not a climber and will not go on foot to storm the mountain. But even ordinary vacationers can climb the cable car to the designated height?!

In a word, prepare for a trip to the balneological resort of Kislovodsk with a “long-range view”. Take it with you autumn jacket and a sweater, perhaps even a light hat.

Comfortable boots with solid soles will please anyone who goes on a country excursion – even to the suburban Berezovsky Gorge. Although in most cases regular sneakers or moccasins will do.

The main clothing promises to be practically summer: shorts and breeches, light shirts and light-colored blouses made from natural fabrics. Panama hats, caps and hats definitely won’t hurt.

There are every reason to put sandals and sandals in your luggage. Although, of course, such shoes need to be duplicated with something more closed, waterproof and warm.

By the way!

Leave some free space in your suitcase. And on vacation, buy something not only souvenir, but also frankly practical.

For example: tasty, healthy or… warm. After all, you can bring a useful gift from Kislovodsk – not honey, but a sheepskin hat!

Prices 2026

We are not inclined to prostrate ourselves in front of holidaymakers. And by and large, they don’t take too much into account the fact that children went to school and their parents went to work.

Of course, this does not mean that you will certainly go bankrupt while vacationing in Caucasian Mineralnye Vody in September. But you will have to do some research before your trip – in order to find a spacious but inexpensive (from 3,000 rubles per day for two) studio or apartment in Kislovodsk, you will have to explore many options.

However, in this case you should focus on a different price range – from 6 thousand per day. The Vertebra sanatorium looks almost ideal here in terms of price-quality ratio. It is located at the beginning of Kurortny Boulevard (Kirova Street, 1), and this is the very center of the city!

Air tickets from the capital to Mineralnye Vody and back in early autumn 2026 will cost 26-30 thousand rubles per person. For this money you can travel even with decent (up to 23 kg) luggage.

Things to do

It just so happens that Kislovodsk is considered a calm resort. Not just healing, but also soothing frayed nerves.

Therefore, it is not surprising that there are few attractions in it. And noisy entertainment is a total disaster.

We will, of course, advise you to first fully explore the huge Resort Park. And take a cable car ride over it at least once.

Fans of concerts and classical music will surely go to a performance at the city Philharmonic. And for architecture lovers, we can recommend looking at the exterior of the building. And also some more – the same Chaliapin’s Dacha.

A must see in the immediate vicinity of Kislovodsk Honey Fallswhich are located in an amazingly beautiful gorge.

To avoid getting lost, however, it is better to use the services of a guide. And along the way you can see the “Ring Mountain”, immortalized, for example, in the works of Lermontov.

Very close to Kislovodsk is Pyatigorsk, another famous resort of KavMinVod. As part of a tour around the region – so as not to waste time – you can also visit Essentuki and Zheleznovodsk.

Essentuki is famous for its mineral water: No. 17 and No. 4, and there you can also visit on a tour even the very beautiful hospital named after Semashko. People go to Zheleznovodsk to take a walk in the beautiful park and admire such an unusual and all-around eastern palace of the Emir of Bukhara.

The Narzanov Glade in Terskol, Lake Gizhgit, and Elbrus itself will attract those who are not at home in the mountains. The panoramic Bermamyt plateau is located much closer to Kislovodsk. Where in the fall – rich in clear days – there are beautiful views of the gray caps of Elbrus.

Let’s not forget about the Djily-Su gorge. Another place that has recently become popular is in Kabardino-Balkaria.

The most vivid impressions, as well as (possibly) some disappointments for your bank account, promise a trip to Dombay in September, a real high-mountainous country. There is no doubt about it – this is not a budget pleasure. But frantic savings on vacation – great way to ruin itisn’t it?
