If you traveled all the sights of the Golden Ring, we recommend that you look at a small town in the Moscow region. Founded in the XII century Kolomna is an excellent option for a trip to the weekend or holidays.

In winter, here you can inspect the Kremlin, running into the ancient temples. In the spring – walk around the posad and museums, in the summer – to enjoy theatrical performances on open verandas, and in the fall – to drink hot tea with pastille at the book festival.

They prepared a guide from a local resident of Nadezhda Doroshenko, in which they collected popular tourist places of Kolomna and non -obvious leisure options at different times of the year.

How to get from Moscow

Kolomna is 115 km from the capital. Depending on the transport, the road takes from 1.5 to 3.5 hours. You can get by train, bus or car (consider traffic jams).

Electric train

They depart from the Kazan station (Komsomolskaya metro) every day from morning to evening.

  • The usual train With all the stops – the most budget, the cost of 390 rubles, on the way 2-2.5 hours.
  • Express “Rax” – An electric train of increased comfort, it is more expensive and slightly faster than usual. In my opinion, this is the best option.
  • Express “Ryazan” – The most expensive, indicating the places and two classes of service. Tickets cost from 550 rubles, on the way – 1.5 hours.

At the checkout, specify which train you need a ticket for. In Kolomna there are two stations where the electric trains stop – “Kolomna” and “Golutvin”. It is better to go out on the first: from it 10 minutes to the old part of the city and attractions.

Bus

Flight buses No. 460 to Kolomna depart from the bus station at the Kotelniki metro station. The ticket can be bought online or at the station, the approximate travel time without traffic jams is two hours. The final stop of the bus is Golutvin’s bus station, but it is better to go out at the Old City station.

Car, taxi

If you are driving a company, take a car for rent. Or you can order a taxi, the cost starts from 2,500 rubles and goes into infinity.

Your own car is a convenient option if you are driving in the warm season for several days. So you can visit more places and enjoy nature in the vicinity of Kolomna.

Useful information

Two districts that are useful to know to a tourist are old Kolomna (old city) and Golutvin. In the first, all cultural attractions are concentrated, in the second- there are auto and railway station and the large shopping center “Rio”.

You can move around the city on a tram, bus, minibus and taxi. By the way, Kolomna is the only city in the suburbs where trams go.

The main merit of this part of the city is the atmosphere. Here you will not find a high -rise building or new development, each building has retained its original appearance and charm. Just walking around the Kremlin and Posad, you will enjoy looking at the old merchant estates and houses with carved wooden platbands.

You can look at the old Kolomna, rising to the current bell tower of the Church of John the Theologian. The entrance is 150 rubles, and the view of the city is invaluable.
