Montenegro in June 2025 – Is it worth going on vacation? Weather and reviews, air and water temperature, can you swim in Budva, Tivat, Bar and Herceg-Dn? Prices in hotels, the cost of excursions and renting a car. What to do in and what to see Montenegro in early June and closer to July, where to go with the child, EUROTRAVELER found out.
Montenegro is considered a resort direction with a rather short beach season. After all, in Budva, Biechi, a pile and bar go on vacation mainly in July-August. Well, maybe on September.
A much smaller number of spa are decided to make a trip to Montenegro and in June. Since the starting month of summer has long and quite firmly considered not the best time for this.
We wondered – where did such subjectivity come from and how is it fueled? Maybe vacationers do not believe that in Montenegro in early June the beach season really begins, and therefore do not want to take risks? Or they just do not suspect – how is it really?
Then we tried to put together all the facts and reviews that we knew, if possible, approaching the case with an impartial way. And this is what came of it!
Weather in Montenegro in June
Well suited for rest at sea. The daily air temperature almost on the entire coast fluctuates within +26-32 degrees Celsius. And the number of rains does not cause a sharp desire to throw everything and go home.
And if you think that at the start of summer everything is much more modest, then you are mistaken! For in early June, the air temperature in Montenegro: in Budva and Bar, Tivat and Herceg-ni, it does not cause complaints-from +24 to +28 degrees Celsius (during the day)!
And in the future, the weather will not give a reason to turn – in the sense of temperatures, so accurately. Since there will be either as much or even more.
At the end of June in Montenegro, one can expect a transition to the next stage. It becomes not just warm, but also hot-by noon, street thermometers and show +30-34 ° C in the shade.
At night, the atmosphere is cooling. In the first half of the month to +18-20 ° C. And then-only to +22-24 ° C. Which, however, all the same gives the resorters the opportunity to take a breath.
At the same time, many years of statistical data (high probability of rainfall and their impressive average monthly norm) with climate as if it is ignored. Judging by the number of days and hours, sunny weather in June definitely prevails in Budva and a pointomor, Petrovac, Bar and Ulcin. In general, on the coast of Montenegro, which is turned towards the open Adriatic Sea.
But Herceg Sno and Kotor, partly Tivat, can seriously water in June. But if you are aware of the climatic features of the Boca-Kotor Bay, you will not be very shocked by this.
Again: water does not mean – floods! Here everything (almost) is like in the tropics: the shows are really powerful and visually impressive.
But they do not go far every day and tend to stop quickly. So you can completely take a nap during the next rain in order to spend the rest of the time on the beach, basking under the rays (very hot here!) Of the sun.
What to take with you
Based on the above, a certain amount of waterproof clothing with hoods in the suitcase will not hurt. And if you go on vacation with young children, the windbreaks should simply be present in the list of necessary things.
At the same time, in June, they dress on the coast of Montenegro as well as in other places in the Mediterranean Sea. That is, in use: sundresses and light dresses, shorts and t -shirts, shirts. As well as all kinds of sun accessories – however, you can always buy them right next to the beach.
In the north of the country, in early summer, it is cooler – especially in elevated areas. So if you are going to visit any of the national parks of Montenegro (5!) At this time, then definitely take something insulation with you-at least a sweatshirt or a hoodie. You will see – in the evening such things will be “like found”!
Water temperature
The sea inherited from May with a temperature of +20-22 degrees Celsius is given in June even for the north-west of Montenegro. It means, again, its coastal part.
There were years when the water area was already warmed up to +23-24 ° C by the beginning of summer. But it happened that the high season was opened by outlandish cold.
Therefore, do not count much that the sea in Montenegro will be warm in early June-usually it is warm to +21-22 ° C. Which, as they notice in all reviews without exception, does not interfere with swimming.
Starting from the middle of the month, the sea near the coast is rapidly warming. So by July, the water area reaches the temperatures of the order of +25-26 degrees Celsius.
Doing this everywhere: that in Budva and Biechi, Rafailovich, Ada-Boyan or on the shores of the Boca-Khotor Bay, swimming will occur with almost the same water condition.
Prices 2025
They will definitely not please those tourists who were in Montenegro until 2019. And they also remember how the cost of a week round at the beginning of summer ranged from 40-60 thousand rubles for two.
Today, for such an amount, you are unlikely to buy flights from Moscow – moreover for one passenger. Do you think about going to Montenegro by car? If it is decorated with Russian numbers, then in 2025 you cannot do this!
Prices in hotels and guest houses of Montenegro in the dummy times rose slightly – it joyfully amazes. So for 250-300 € per week you may well book a spacious number or even individual apartments for two people.
About as much at the end of June are Apartments Milos Kaladjurdjevic in a matter of meters from the beach of the village of Rafailovich. Where the best – just got up and you can already swim. And when the soul requires entertainment – you go to Budva, you can get to the old city without involving public transport.
If you are ready to stop a little further from the center of the entire resort coast, then here’s another beautiful inexpensive option – Apartments Ardura in Petrovac. A captivating look opens from the apartment balcony, to the sea for about 7 minutes. An obvious plus – guests can count on a roadstone in a free parking lot!
By the way, about the car – its rental in Montenegro in the summer season is not the most justified investment. And the point is not that it is expensive (in fact-not very from 35-40 € per day). It’s just that along the coast of the road very often stand in dense traffic jams – it is much easier to order an excursion and enjoy the views of the accompaniment of the guide story.
Excursions
However, not so cheap. Especially when it comes to a trip somewhere outside the chosen resort.
For example, for a 3-hour cruise on the Boka-Kotorsky bay you will have to pay about 35-40 € (and you will have to get to the start point yourself). And if you want to make a one-day trip to the Durmitist Park, the Canyon of the Tara River (without alloy), the monastery of the prison, then you need to cook about 90-100 €.
Actually, you can get acquainted with the old centers of cities for a little less money. In particular, for 70-90 € a family or a company of like-minded people will make a sightseeing walk on Budva or Kotor with a guide.
What to do
If you decide to rest in the summer somewhere on the Budwan Riviera, and even with a child, a visit to the water park looks quite a logical step.
One – the water park is only called and has very modest sizes and opportunities – Mediteran Hotel & Resort.
Every second tourist – this is not we say – statistics – wants to visit mountainous areas in Montenegro – for example, the Durmitist National Park. To see the black lake that has already become legendary, to climb on a prehistoric cord on the peak of Savin Cook, to conquer any of the surrounding peaks on foot.
The desire to make a trip to the religious shrine of Montenegro, the Orthodox rocky monastery Ostrog, also looks quite natural. Despite the fact that in the summer he does not know the end of pilgrims and curious.
Literally, every vacationer considers it his duty to personally feel the charm of the old city of Budva. Although we grindly note that the number of vacationers in this Montenegrin resort throughout the summer and the first month of autumn simply goes off scale.
What else
Someone (their explicit minority) go on an excursion to Cetinier and Podgorica-for nothing that such a trip takes a full daylight day. Tourists who have seen incredibly juicy photos of the Boca-Korotor Bay on the Internet, of course, would like to examine it during the water tour. Perhaps, combined with a visit to cities such as Kotor, Perast, Tivat, Herceg-Dn.
To visit Kotor, by the way, is better not on the hottest day. Since in the scorching sun to climb to the fortress of St. John, from the walls of which the best panoramic photos are made – there is also a pleasure. And the local old city hardly interferes with everyone who wants to feel the old Venetian flavor.
Starting since 2023, the cable car from Kotor to Lovchen is working. The cost of the trip, however, is completely merciless – the adult will give 25 € for a ticket in both directions!
Only a few vacationers in Montenegro in June show a desire to look at the picturesque Scadar Lake on the border with Albania – it is too hot. However, if you are gone-first of all, inspect the authentic town of Vir Pazar. And then – make a cruise on the reservoir.
