Phuket is one of the most popular places for vacations and wintering in Thailand. The small island is famous for its beaches, which differ from each other in terms of tourism infrastructure and transport accessibility, the choice of entertainment, rental and food costs. We figure out how to choose a beach on Phuket, so as not to be disappointed on vacation.
Northern part of the coast

The beaches in the north of Phuket partially enter the Sininate National Park. Sanned areas, where there are practically no classic tourist entertainments, are suitable for those who are looking for a calm and harmonious rest surrounded by natural. There are few options for housing here, but the prices for food and life outside the hotels are relatively low. At the same time, due to remoteness and limited transport accessibility, the exit “in civilization” will cost noticeably more than from the resorts in the center and in the south.
May khao
Right above this beach there is a runway of Phuket International Airport, so many come here to observe low-flying aircraft and take spectacular photos. Despite such a neighborhood, the 11-kilometer May Khao is considered one of the cleanest, quiet and deserted beaches on the island. The tourist infrastructure is modestly developed here, only small shops and plantations are found outside the hotels. The beach is not equipped with sunbeds and toilets, rescuers do not work here and there is no natural shadow, at the entrance to the water a sharp difference in the height of the bottom. As a rule, these places are chosen by tourists who want to hide from the hustle and bustle, extra eyes and look for measured, similar to meditation, rest.

Nay Yang
A three -kilometer beach is often chosen by local residents for relaxation. It is equipped with picnic and massage zones, there is also mini-bars on the shore. The Ny Young Bay is surrounded by a coral reef, so there are something to see Snorkling lovers. Waves rarely appear on the coast, and during the tide it becomes very small. All the entertainment in which water transport can be used is prohibited here. In the central part of the beach, you can rent a car or buy a tour. Hotels in the area of Nay Yang are modest and are more suitable for those who consider them as an overnight stay, and not a long residence.

Found tone
As a rule, they call on a chamber kilometer beach to admire the sunsets or make a romantic photo shoot against the background of expressive trees and boulders in shallow bays. By the way, it is precisely because of them that the water on the found may not seem as clean as on other beaches.
Where to stop: In the five -star Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach, accommodation prices start at 9,000 rubles per night*.
The central part of the coast

Closed residential complexes, expensive villas, prestigious condominiums, European supermarkets, cafes and restaurants are concentrated here. Along the tourist sector there is a road along which there are tuk-tuk and public transport. From these areas it is most convenient to get to Phuket-Town-the capital of an island where you can visit historical attractions, shopping centers, outlets and a large night market.
Bang Tao
The length of Bang Tao is one of the most expensive beaches of the island – seven kilometers. Three of them are occupied by the prestigious resort complex of Laguna Phuket, which has six internal lakes. On their shores are five-star hotels, villas, premium apartments, restaurants and shopping centers, between which you can move on ferries.
On the central part of the Bang of Tao there are several first -line hotels, but the beach is not their private territory. In the neighboring large village, Chestal can rent comfortable guest houses and villas.
The sea in this place is calm and transparent, the entrance to the water is gentle, but after the rain, algae on the shore may occur. It is easy to hide from the Sun to Bang Tao: in the deep natural shadow of casuarin trees there is always enough free space. There are also hotels in the southern part of the beach, but the entrance to the sea is unsafe: you can hit sharp stones or boats.
Bang Tao is one of the few areas where you can dine and dinner right at the edge of the water.
About a 20 -minute walk from the sea, the main road to the coast passes. It is from here that it is most convenient to get to Phuket Town and Patonga by public transport. You can’t find your own evening entertainments to the Bang, the area is immersed in a dream with the onset of darkness.
Where to stop: In the five -star Mövenpick Resort Bangtao Beach Phuket, placement in a standard room will cost 12,000 rubles per night*.
Surin
Azure and turquoise transparent water, black smooth boulders, green palm trees and bright sand – tourists from all over the Phuket are looking at these natural contrasts on Surin, so it is better to take places in the shadow in the morning. Here, mostly youth rests, because of which it is very noisy on the beach. Food here is cheaper than on a Bang-Tao, as they mainly offer fast food. The cost of renting housing is relatively high, because it is very small. Another drawback is the “biting” plankton in water, which swims here more often than in other bays.
Where to stop: In the four -star Novotel Phuket Surin Beach Resort, the cost of living is 4,500 rubles per night*.
Kamala
Despite the abundance of hotels with beautiful views of the sea, Kamalu is chosen mainly by “winters”, since the weather here can be unpredictable. There is no natural shadow on the coast, the sea is rarely calm, and pits often come across at the bottom. In the low season, they do not bathe on the kamal, in the morning the active surf is washing the remains of algae and the bark of trees ashore. But despite the fact that this beach is quite uninhabited, the infrastructure here is very developed: there are cafes, fast foods, grocery and souvenir shops, massage tables, renting umbrellas and sunbeds, and sanitary zones on the promenade. The main point of attraction is the Café del Mar, known for all surrounding resorts, where concerts of popular musicians are held.
Where to stop: In a four -star hotel Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach, placement at night will cost 4,000 rubles*.
South of the island

The beaches of the southern part of the island, Chalong and Ravai, are used for the needs of the local pier, so they are not suitable for bathing. But in front of them are the three most active and densely populated resort.
Patong
About the pathong, they say that he walks at night, and sleeps during the day. With the sunset on the main street, Banglla Road invitingly flashes bright neon signs of casinos and entertainment clubs for adults, loud music comes from bars and restaurants, street artists work in the crowd, alleys are clogged with endless settings of clothing markets. A rare tourist at least once for a vacation will not go to the pathong.
In the afternoon, on the beach, you can often find those who sleep on the sand after a fun night. Many popular tourist entertainments and attractions are available here. There are practically no free places, and the garbage is not always able to collect in the morning. Often the remains of algae swim in the surf. Among the vacationers are mainly young people who prefer to rent hostels, beds and inexpensive numbers, which are pleased here. Due to the high competition, Paton prices are quite democratic.
Where to stop: In the four -star hotel The Andaman Beach Hotel Phuket Patong, the cost of accommodation is 4,200 rubles per night*.
Karon
The three -kilometer caron is calmer than Patonga, and the beach and the sea are much cleaner. The tourist infrastructure is well developed here: on the beach you can rent motor boats, sales, take windsurfing and other active entertainments. There are cafes and bars, shops, public institutions and a thematic park in the residential quarter. You can walk along the sea along the embankment, and hide from the sun – in a shady grove with coniferous and flowering trees. The main “feature” of Karona is colorful sunsets.
Sand on this beach is called “singing”, as it emits a characteristic creak under his feet. There are often long waves and junk offens on the sea, so it is sometimes difficult to get out of water. Also, tourists are warned of sea hedgehogs of a natural shadow on Caron. Eat, wash off salty water in the shower and visit the toilet only in the residential area of the region.
Not far from Karon is a small Karon – a small bay with a coral reef.
Where to stop: In a four -star hotel Centara Villas Phuket, the cost of living is 5,000 rubles per night*.
Kata
This beach is something between active entertainment and a classic Thai peace. The types of Kata are recognizable because of a small island opposite the shore, which seems to soar in the air.
The entrance to the sea is gentle, there are no stones and shells at the bottom, so the beach is popular among families with children. Sand here does not creak like on Caron and has a lighter shade. During the tide, it is necessary to go to the depths of about 80 meters. In the fall and early winter, Katya can jump in the waves.
The beach is fenced off by a large hotel, and you can get around it only next to a poorly smelling river, so vacationers gather in the opposite clean zone, where it is cramped. Like Karon, there are no amenities on Katya and natural shadow.
Where to stop: In the three -star Ibis Phuket Kata, the cost of living is 1,700 rubles per night*.
