In case you didn’t know, August is the busiest month of vacation. That period of the year during which the majority of residents (at least) of the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth plan to take a break from work and worries. Well, perhaps go somewhere: “see the world and show yourself.”
It is quite natural that citizens who are not prone to familiarity and generally diligently avoid crowds and traffic jams, as well as inexplicably high prices, do not want to become part of the craze. And therefore they do not rush to the south – where everyone else is going – but, for example, to the north.
Fortunately, in the summer there’s really nothing there. And at times it’s even warm – if you go on a trip to Murmansk in August, you’ll see this. Again, there are plenty of interesting things to do – just look at the sea voyages in search of whales?!

The weather in the middle of the last month of summer in the “capital of the Russian Arctic” is more difficult to predict. It can be warm, with temperatures above +20 and even +25°C. Especially if the beginning of August turned out to be cold.
But in other years the temperature curve steadily goes downward. So on August 15-17, Murmansk can observe something around +12-15 °C even in the afternoon hours.
Moreover, even on the threshold of September there is no warming. The weather seems to be deciding to end the summer season ahead of schedule.
Such fluctuations in weather conditions will obviously not please those who cherish the hope of swimming. But almost 100% of tourists visiting Murmansk don’t even think about it. And therefore, they gladly take every opportunity to wander around the city – at +15 °C you won’t freeze or sweat.

They don’t look particularly attractive. Of course, I would like to travel for less money – not everyone can afford to pay 20-25 thousand rubles for air tickets from Moscow to Murmansk and back.
Family tourists should think about traveling to Murmansk in their own car – this way they can save a lot of money. Both on transport costs and on excursions around the Kola Peninsula.
However, it should be taken into account that most places in the Murmansk region still lead more directionthan good roads.
The price level in local “hospitality facilities” is not too different from the Russian average – even though it’s in the Arctic. In particular, for 3.5-4 thousand rubles per day you can rent a renovated and clean apartment in Murmansk. Moreover, they are located far from the outskirts of the northern city.

Trips to ancient times are relatively unpopular. Pomeranian villages on the Tersky coast of the White Sea. Maybe because to get there from Murmansk you will have to go south (but they still want to go north?).
