For many years, Cuba has been attracting tourists with its warm climate, charming beaches and a famous combination of high -quality rum and elite cigars. Rest in Cuba has never been too cheap, however, apparently, in the near future, a rise in price. The United States canceled the embargo operating with respect to Cuba for more than a decade, and now American tourists and investments have been picked up by an accelerated pace. Let us recall other reasons, except for the so far relatively low prices within the country, in order to finally decide on the trip.
Open -air museum
We all know at least firsthand about the famous Cuban revolutionaries: Jose Marty, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro. And although the influence of these people is already poorly felt, everything looks around as if a revolution occurred just a couple of years ago. Although in fact there are no skirmishes and uprisings in Cuban land for a long time.
Once in Cuba, you will feel as if you were again in the Soviet Union, only around everyone speaks in Spanish. Cubans have been cherishing here and do not change anything for decades: retro cars go through the streets, which we can only find in museums today, on the shelves, the choice of goods is still limited, and even signs sometimes from the sixties.
Rum and cigars
And this is the real property and pride of Cuba. The choice of cigars is incredibly large. Prices are very different and depend on the quality of tobacco, as well as excerpts – the older, the “tastier”. There are cigars – the peers of the revolution, and many hunters for such historically valuable things are ready to give up to $ 100 apiece. Local residents claim that the best cigars are twisted on the bodies of incomparable Cuban beauties. The fact is not confirmed, but so piquant that I want to believe the word.
Not inferior in quality and rum. Its choice is also great and diverse, and you can not only try the drink, but also go on an excursion to the factories of world -famous alcohol brands. Any amount of rum and cigars can be exported from the country, but remember that the import of these products to Russia is limited.
Visa is not needed
Fortunately, Cuba is one of their few countries with a gorgeous beach vacation, where you can go without a visa. It will have to be done only if you plan to be there longer than thirty days.
Unusual types of meat
One of the most popular and cheap meat dishes in Cuban restaurants is crocodile meat. There are special farms for growing crocodiles in huge quantities. The most delicious parts are paws and tail. Crocodiles are prepared in every way: they are fried, boiled, steamed, stew. In some places you can try tortoise meat dishes. The turtles are under the threat of disappearance, so it is forbidden to prepare them officially, but this does not stop some gourmets.
But what you definitely can’t eat, so this is a beef steak. The murder and eating of cows in Cuba is a serious crime, even if it is your own animal.
Free beaches and pleasant climate
Since the Communist Party of Cuba is diligently building socialism, most of the beaches (unless they belong to hotels) here are state -owned ones, which means they are free. At the same time, they look just gorgeous. Yes, and the climate does not fail: in the summer the temperature here is about +28 degrees, and comfortable +22 hold in winter. However, the tropical climate also has a number of disadvantages. So, with a relatively small heat, high humidity is held here all year round, so sometimes, in an acclimatization, which is unsuitable for such weather, occurs with some difficulties.
You can come to the Cuba to come all year round, but there is seasonality here. The rainy season lasts from May to October. The temperature at this time is just as comfortable, but there is much more precipitation – about three quarters of the annual norm. In the tropical season, from November to April, the rain is much less common. The most unfavorable months to visit the island is October and November, since hurricanes are possible at this time.
Entertainment and attractions
In Havana, be sure to inspect the Capitol, which almost completely repeats the famous Capitol in Washington. The cathedral is also interesting, which, together with the area around it, is listed on the UNESCO cultural heritage list. In this massive baroque building of the 18th century, the dust of a man who discovered America – Christopher Columbus was stored for more than a hundred years. However, at the end of the 19th century he was taken to the Spanish Seville.
The UNESCO list also includes the old Havana – the historical center of the city. There are more than a thousand valuable objects here, and the center itself has impressive dimensions. Naturally, this is the most popular place among tourists in the city, so you should be careful, especially with street photographers who will try to photograph you, and then they will urgently demand money for it, even if you did not give your consent.
If you want to look at natural beauties, this can be done in the Sierra Maestra National Park. It is located on the southern coast of the Caribbean, on a mountain range. Here is the highest point of the island of Freedom-Mount Piko-Torkino. In the park you can relax on a secluded beach, climb the mountain and enjoy amazing landscapes. Entrance to the park is possible as part of the excursion group, and if you want to get there yourself, you will need a special resolution.
