How to get from the airport to the city

Berlin-Tegel Airport
The BVG bus will take you to the central station in 25 minutes. The cost of tickets starts from 1.70 € and depends on the selected category.
You can also get to the city by taxi. A trip to the city center will cost 26–35 €.
Schönefeld airport
It is easy to get from Schönefeld from the Schönefeld airport to Aleksanderplaz by train. The road will take about 25 minutes, and the ticket will cost 3.40 €.
The cost of a trip to Uber to the city center will be from 42 to 60 €.

What to see in the city
Berlin is the capital of Germany and a very diverse city, combining the legacy of the most important historical events, modern trends of culture and free customs.
Aleksanderplatz

One of the most iconic places in Berlin. The once market square, during the war it was destroyed, and then restored and surrounded by modern buildings.
The area is crowned with a large clock of the world – a rotating sculpture that displays time in different parts of the world.
Not far from Aleksanderplaz rises a 368-meter Berlin television tower. You can climb it to inspect the city from a height. The ticket will cost 16.50 €.

Church of St. Mary and the Church of St. Nicholas

Behind the Berlin TV tower there is a cozy church of St. Mary. It is worth looking into it to examine the interior filled with light.

Not far from the Church of St. Mary, one of the symbols of the city is erected – the Church of St. Nicholas. Outside, the structure is impressive with architecture. Currently, the church functions as a museum. On Fridays, from 17:00 to 17:30, concerts of enchanting music with the participation of the organ are held here.

Museum Island

Having crossed the pedestrian bridge Friedrichsbryuk (Friedrichsbrücke), you will fall on the famous museum island. It has historical buildings, inside of which the Bode Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Cult Pergamon Museum and the Old and New Museums are now open. The main attraction of the museum island is the symbol of the city – the Berlin Cathedral. Go into it to look at the majestic dome and architecture.
Reichstag

The Reichstag is a building in which the national parliament of Germany is currently sitting. The building itself is interesting for a large glass dome, from where panoramic views of Berlin open.
A visit to the Reichstag and its dome is free, but all visitors must first register. It is most convenient to do this in advance online.

Brandenburg Gate and Big Tyrgarten

On Parisian Square are the Brandenburg gate – one of the main attractions of Berlin. From the square of the gate, they lead to the largest park of the city – Big Tyrgarten. In addition to the huge green territory with ponds and alleys, which places the forest in places, Goethe’s monument, the memorial to the fallen Soviet soldiers and the Victory Column are in it.
If you turn on narrow paths, in the park you can find flower beds with roses, Rhododendronhein, a monument to Beethoven and the Berlin Zoo.
Memorial to the victims of the Holocaust

Not far from the Brandenburg Gate is another important attraction of Berlin – a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. It is built in the form of a labyrinth of columns of different heights between which you can walk.
Under the ground is an exhibition hall dedicated to the Holocaust. You can visit it for 3 €.

Potsdam Square

Come to Potsdam Square to look at modern Berlin. There are glass high -rise buildings, numerous bars, restaurants and shops.
The most remarkable in the square is the street space of the Sony Center (Sony Center). A roof hangs over it, which is highlighted in the dark and creates a light performance involving the glass facades of the surrounding buildings.
In the past, the famous Berlin wall passed through the square, the remains of which were exhibited here in the form of monuments.
IDSAD GALLERE

On the banks of the Spree River, the remains of the Berlin wall are preserved. Now they are painted with graffiti, referring to social and political reasons, between which you can find the famous graffiti “Brotherly kiss”.

Not far from the Isaid Gallery, on the river, there is an art object “Molecular Man”. It is especially interesting to look at him in the evening, when the backlight lights up. Great views of the sculpture are opened from the promenade near the Porsche Digital Lab (Stralauer Allee 12, Berlin) building.
Landver channel and Kroytsberg district

To get acquainted with the non -tourist Berlin, go to the Kroyzberg area. Here you will find many bars and restaurants, street street art and interesting architecture.
Along the embankment, the Landver channel is broken by the Böckler Park. On his lawns, it is customary to lie, arrange picnics and parties.
To get to Krozberg, go out at the Hallesches Tor or Prinzenstraße metro stations.
Botanical Garden of Berlin

In the Botanical Garden of Berlin, all kinds of plants brought from different parts of the planet are represented. Here you can wander around a huge park among the rare specimens of the flora, visit magnificent tropical greenhouses and dendraria, as well as a museum of archaeological finds.

Charlottenburg castle

To relax from the noisy streets of Berlin, go to the outskirts of the city – to the Charlottenburg castle. The majestic palace, which once served as a residence for the Prussian kings and German emperors, is surrounded by a huge park with quiet alleys, streams and bridges.
Ticket cost: 12 € (entrance to the palace). The entrance to the park is free.

Potsdam: San Sushi Park and Cecilienhof Palace

Potsdam is a small town near Berlin, known for picturesque parks and exquisite palaces. The historical center of the city is small buildings and prayer streets, and also has its own Brandenburg gates.
How to get there: it is most convenient to get to Potsdam by train, which leaves from the Berlin Central Station and goes 25 minutes. The ticket will cost 3.40 €.
Arriving in the city, go to San Sushi Park-an extensive territory with a palace, gardens and remarkable pavilions that once served as the summer residence of Friedrich the Great. The entrance to the park is free.
How to get: from the Potsdam station to the park you can take a walk through the city center for 40 minutes (about 3.2 kilometers) or get by a tram in 5 minutes – the ticket cost will be 1.50 €.

After a walk in San Sushi Park, head to the Cecilienhof palace. It is located in the new garden on the shores of Lake Jungmanze. The architecture of the palace is interesting to brick masonry, details of dark oak and chimneys.
Ticket cost: from 6 to 8 €
How to get there: from San Sushi Park to the palace, the path will take about 40 minutes (3.2 kilometers) on foot. On the way, you can see the Nauen gates with cone -shaped towers and groves of the new garden. If you want to get to the palace faster, use a taxi.
