Argentina is the eighth of the size of the world, its name translates as “Silver Country”. As in all countries of the southern hemisphere, the seasons are opposite to Russian: summer begins in December, and winter in June. Here, the French lifestyle and Italian temperament are combined with the Spanish mentality of local residents.
I want to go to Argentina!
1. Argentina – European country
Its inhabitants are mostly white and similar to Europeans. This is due to the history of the country: when the Spaniards arrived here in the 16th century, the indigenous Indians were not a numerous nation. The population was formed from European immigrants and descendants of Europeans from marriages with Indians and Negro. The Europeans who depart during colonization to America had the possibility of equal choice: New York or Buenos Aires. Under the influence of historical, social and cultural factors, South America became the object of colonization of the peoples of Italy, Spain and France.
2. Most of the Argentines are Spanish -speaking Catholics

The Argentines speak Spanish, but with some accent: perhaps the influence of the Portuguese language, in which the neighboring Brazil speaks, affected. For example, instead of the sound of “th” they pronounce “g” in the word Calle, pronouncing the word “way” instead of “kaye”, which can cut a little hearing to those who are well familiar with Spanish. Most of the population are Catholics. The influence of religion is even enshrined in the constitutional level: only Catholic can be the president of the country.
3. Football – a favorite sport

Argentines are very fond of football. During important competitions, schoolchildren even arrange an additional weekend so that they do not miss matches. Two Argentine football players are famous for the whole world: Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi, and the national team stably shows good results in international competitions.
4. Buenos Aires-city of winds

The capital of Argentina was founded in 1536 by the Spanish conquistador Pedro de Mendos. Its name translates as “good winds.” And this is true: a fresh wind constantly blows in the city, but there are practically no frosts. There are many attractions in the capital – ancient cathedrals, museums and other historical buildings. From contemporary art, the giant steel flower Floralis Genérica is striking 34 meters high, created in 2002. He reveals his petals every morning and closes them with sunset. The design is installed in the Ricolelet area, opposite the National Museum of Extreme Arts at Avenida del Libertador, 1473.
5. La Boka-the most picturesque area of the capital

This is the historical and art center of Buenos Aires. Its main feature is colorful houses painted with bright paint. On the streets of the quarter, musicians play, couples are dancing, and briskly there is a trade in souvenirs. There is even an improvised street gallery of paintings by local artists called Kaminito.
6. Falls of Iguas – the main attraction

The system of giant waterfalls 82 meters high is located almost on the border with Brazil, 7 kilometers from the airport and 18 kilometers from the city of Puerto Jiguasu. Waterfalls are surrounded by picturesque forests.
7. In Argentina, you can visit the edge of the world

At the southern tip of the country there is a fiery land, where the mainland ends and an exit to Antarctica opens. In the Biglai Strait is the southern city of the world – Ushuaya. It is from here that the polar explorers go to explore Antarctica. The city’s museums reflect its history. Over the years, the city managed to visit the margin of medieval sailors, the Christian stronghold of missionaries, the Argentina Air Force prison and marine base. Today, Uushuaya is a tourist center with many hotels and shops. 12 kilometers west from it is a picturesque Lake of Rock, which can be reached by train.
8. Luxurious landscapes of Patagonia and Perito-Morino Glacier

Patagonia – a wild land with many national parks, glorified Argentina throughout the world. The most famous national park of Patagonia is Los Vlasyares. Bus and foot tours are held here. To get to the place of the start of excursions-the village of El Kalafate-can be by plane from Buenos Aires.
The main decoration of Los Vlasyares is the amazing beauty of the Blue Glacier of Perito-Morino 5 kilometers wide. It is in constant motion, sliding 2 meters a day. Tracking passes along the ice slopes of the glacier: through Magellanes, a forest, past caves and outlandish ice features.
9. Argentina – Homeland of Tango
This passionate dance originated here. Two hundred years ago, he was considered too obscene, since in the dances of those times the only contact of the partners was at the level of touching hands. The couples danced tango only in closed areas. At the end of the 19th century, young wealthy Argentines brought their incendiary dance to the Old World. The main difference between Argentine tango and other dances is the frequent contact of partners at chest level and complex pirouettes. Tango takes its origins in Negro dances under the drum fraction, so each movement occurs to a clear energetic music.
10. Colorful Argentine carnival
Not only Brazil boasts bright street shows in original costumes. In the summer, in January-February, in the town of Gualeguich (the province of Entre-Rios) every Saturday, chic exits along sambadrox models in brilliant outfits decorated with brushes and feathers are arranged. Someone is dressed in immodest outfits that Victoria’s Secret models envied, someone in unusual costumes of samurai and ninja. The enchanting procession is accompanied by brightly designed platforms following the participants.
