The ruins of Mayan cities, beaches, deserts, mountains and reserves – every year South America is becoming more and more popular with tourists. We will tell you about the most beautiful places in Latin America, where you can spend a vacation that is not like any other.
Salar de Uyuni Salard Salonchak in Bolivia
In the south-west of Bolivia, on the deserted plain of Altiplano is Uyuni-the largest salt marsh in the world, its area is 10,588 km². In the dry season, Solonchak is a flat, snow -white, shining desert in the sun. And in the rainy season, when the salt marsh is covered with a thin layer of water, it turns into a huge mirror surface. The horizon disappears, water reflects the sky and many have an illusion that the earth is moving underfoot, like clouds in the sky. The only hotel in salt marshes is entirely built of salt blocks. Even the furniture and decor elements consist of salt. Uyuni is 350 km from, the unofficial capital of Bolivia, from where buses go to Solonchak.
Machu-picchu, mysterious city of Inca in Peru
This city of Inca lost in the mountains of Peru was opened only a hundred years ago. No one knows why the Spaniards did not find him and where all its inhabitants disappeared in the 16th century. Temples and palaces cut down in the rock of the house, squares and hundreds of stairs are perfectly preserved. The main attractions of the city is the gates of the Sun Intit Punk, through which the setting sun illuminates the streets of the city, the temple of three windows and the temple of the sun, the sacred area, completely cut down in the rock, and the observatory. You can get to Machu Picchu by bus from Cuzco, the largest city in southern Peru.
Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, Chile
This unique biosphere reserve was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. Torres del Pain is isolated from the world with a mountain ridge. On 2,400 km² there are dozens of lakes and lagoon and a huge waterfall of a somersault-grand, rare birds, animals and lizards live. The park is considered the most beautiful place for tracking in South America. You can get to the park by bus from the town of Puerto-Nalles (3 hours) or from the city of El Kalafate (5 hours).
Iguasu waterfalls (Cataratas del Iguazu), on the border of Brazil and Argentina
IGuasu waterfalls are a complex of 275 waterfalls on the Iguas River, in the National Park of the same name, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The waterfalls were repeatedly called the most beautiful in the world and included in the list of “new Wonders of the World” in 2011. The height of most of them is 60-70 meters, and the largest, “throats of the devil” are 82 meters. Fascinating types of waterfalls are opened from above, from the observation sites, and from below, during an excursion on the boat on the boiling foundation pit. We also advise you to take a walk in the park – rare parrots live in thick tropical forests and huge orchids bloom. The Iguas National Park is located 18 km from the city of Puerto Jiguasu, from where a narrow-blade goes to the waterfall.
